In this study, the current status of operation was analyzed with a view to analyze the areas in need of improvement and the status of portals of similar institutions. Based on which, a proposal was made to help improve the function of utilization as well as search the products of studies by and for the research institutes funded by the government having jurisdiction by applying the information service technology developing in line with the fourth industrial revolution for the purposes of aiding and fostering with efficiency toward achieving the goal of establishment for such institutes, while strengthening the utility of NKIS. First, in order to secure the membership, it is necessary to find the targets for policy information and promotion, and it is also necessary to increase the demand for policy information, such as by preparing the people friendly policy reports, infographics, and information delivery in an easy manner. Second, it is necessary to provide customized services in the manner which reinforces reports and policy data on the social issues and education topics, which are among the interests of the primary user base by considering the ratio of visiting occupations. Third, for the diversification and expansion of video data services, it is necessary to prepare alternatives, such as by setting regulations and encouraging the institutions of jurisdiction to upload the video data. Fourth, it will be necessary to improve the overall public relations service. It is also necessary to proceed with the NKIS' publicity webtoon serialization with the latest contents or abolish the current webtoon promotion, while it is necessary to derive the plans for the efficient implementation of the contest, further to the need to discuss the secondary publicity after the contest rather than halting after it.

In order to improve ScienceON as a customized portal for MZ generation, this study investigated the characteristics of MZ generation's use of information portals and the demand for ScienceON to derive ways to improve ScienceON. To this end, a survey was conducted on Generation MZ who had experience using ScienceON, and the direction of improvement of ScienceON was derived. The ScienceON improvement plan proposed in this study is as follows. First, it is necessary to derive a plan to be familiar with the MZ generation for the MZ generation seeking familiarity and convenience. Second, it is necessary to improve the portal, such as arranging intuitive menus and providing convenient information, and various ways such as improving design and UI and reorganizing functions provided by ScienceON are needed. Third, it is necessary to promote the spread of Science ON by providing content through various platforms such as SNS and YouTube. In the future, as interest in the MZ generation continues to increase, analysis studies on the characteristics and demand of the MZ generation are expected to increase. Therefore, this study can be used as basic data for research on MZ generation, and it is expected that it can be used as a reference for the demand for information search and services of MZ generation.

This study analyzes the classification schemes and classified information resources of the directory services provided by major web portals to complement keyword-based retrieval. Specifically, this study intends to quantitatively analyze the topic categories, the information resources by subject, and the information resources classified by the topic categories of three directories, Yahoo, Naver, and Empas. The result of this analysis reveals some differences among directory services. Overall, these directories show different ratios of referred categories to original categories depending on the subject area, and the categories regarded as format-based show the highest proportion of referred categories. In terms of the total amount of classified information resources, Yahoo has the largest number of resources. The directories compared have different amounts of resources depending on the subject area. The quantitative analysis of resources classified by the specific category is performed on the class of 'News & Media'. The result reveals that Naver and Empas contain overly specified categories compared to Yahoo, as far as the number of information resources categorized is concerned. Comparing the depth of the categories assigned by the three directories to the same information resources, it is found that, on average, Yahoo assigns one-step further segmented divisions than the other two directories to the identical resources.
