키네틱 타이포그래피를 위한 기본모션 API 설계 및 개발 (Design and Implementation of the Primitive Motion API for Kinetic Typography)

  • The kinetic typography animates the static text and it will enable the delivery the opinion and emotion, but we should use professional software or do complex coding precess to create a motion into an existing static text. In this paper, we propose the primitive motion API which is the way to configure the kinetic typography easily by adding a motion into the static text. In the pursuit of this purpose, we analyzed the movement of the text, defined the underlying levels of the movement and designed the primitive motion API to express the kinetic typography promptly. Furthermore, we verified the performance of the primitive motion API by testing the usability. Using the primitive motion API to implement the kinetic typography explicitly might substitute for tedious coding process and usage of the existing professional software so it makes anyone be able to apply the kinetic typography in a variety of applications.

  • Objective: This paper describes the process and results related to the development of gesture recognition-based natural user interface(NUI) for vehicle maintenance e-Training system. Background: E-Training refers to education training that acquires and improves the necessary capabilities to perform tasks by using information and communication technology(simulation, 3D virtual reality, and augmented reality), device(PC, tablet, smartphone, and HMD), and environment(wired/wireless internet and cloud computing). Method: Palm movement from depth camera is used as a pointing device, where finger movement is extracted by using OpenCV library as a selection protocol. Results: The proposed NUI allows trainees to control objects, such as cars and engines, on a large screen through gesture recognition. In addition, it includes the learning environment to understand the procedure of either assemble or disassemble certain parts. Conclusion: Future works are related to the implementation of gesture recognition technology for a multiple number of trainees. Application: The results of this interface can be applied not only in e-Training system, but also in other systems, such as digital signage, tangible game, controlling 3D contents, etc.

양형 IMS 모듈 튜블러 샤프트의 스플라인 가공 개선 (Improvement of Tubular Shaft Yoke Spline Machining in Both Side IMS Module)

  • The objective of this study is to solve a problem that is occurred during the spline machining of tubular shaft yoke in both side IMS module. In order to simulate the problem, the movement direction of upper die was set as standard case and error case. The material of tubular shaft yoke was set to S20C as refer to the analysis library. The movement directions of upper die were separated with standard case and error case. The error case was set to simulate the problem in the spline machining of tubular shaft yoke. In order to solve the problem, the outer radius of upper die were modelled from 9.40mm to 9.44mm. The simulation results were analyzed and compared in terms of effective stress, metal flow line and folding phenomena characteristics. In case of the outer radius of upper die was 9.42mm, it was observed a relatively uniform effective stress distribution and had a straight metal flow line.

  • The historical aspects, policies, institutions, awards and measurement results of scientific literacy and scientific culture development in Indonesia have currently attracted further exploration. This paper utilizes secondary data research, further analyzed by employing the Supplementary Analysis technique. The results revealed that the tradition of writing and publishing scientific journals in Indonesia has existed ever since the Dutch East Indies with the journal's publication entitled 'Natuurkundig tijdschrift voor Nederlandsch Indië' in 1850. To date, Indonesia has owned 5,990 nationally accredited journals. Policy support has been provided at the national and regional levels, despite limitations in cultivating literacy and reading habit. From the institutional perspective, Indonesia provides a wide array of public support, including the effort of the Ministry of Education and Culture for advocating the national literacy movement and the availability of a reference database and scientific access established by the National Library; the Indonesian Institute of Sciences, and the Ministry of Research and Technology. Similarly, in the award-related perspective, the Indonesia government has granted awards to individuals or groups and local governments engaging in the cultivation of scientific literacy and scientific culture. However, among the global measurements for literacy development in Indonesia (in 2020) recorded that three indicators scored less than those in 2019.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 최근 확산되고 있는 '한 책, 한 도시' 운동의 사례를 살펴봄으로써 지역사회의 특성과 결합된 독서 운동으로서의 의미를 고찰하고 전체적인 '한 책' 운동의 현황을 분석하는 것이다. 미국 시애틀의 '시애틀 온 시민이 책한권을 같이 읽는다면, 시카고의 '한 책 한 시카고', 캘리포니아주의 '분노의 포도 읽기' 및 캐나다의 'Canada Reads'의 사례연구를 수행하고 239개 '한 책' 운동의 목표 선정 도서, 토론 지침 및 제반 프로그램의 전반적 특성을 검토하였다. '한 책' 운동은 독서와 토론 중심이지만 다양한 매체와 행사를 결합한 개혁적, 지속적 독서운동이며, 공공도서관과 지역사회의 긴밀한 협조 및 다양성을 반영한 도서 선정, 프로그램의 진행 등으로 성공을 거두는 것으로 나타났다.

일제시대 농촌문고에 관한 연구 (A study of rural-mini libraries under the Japanese occupation)

  • The colony education policy of Japanese Empire was, as a su n.0, ppression on national salvation education of Korean, on the one hand it was liquidation of Korean national spirit and other hand, it has the object to Japanizing Koreans through cramming Japanese language and its culture. During the Japanse occupation of Korea, the libraries had two roles, one was to press Korean and its culture and the other was to civilize Koreans for Japanizing. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of rural-mini libraries whether the former or the latter. From 1932 to The Chosun Governor- General Department (Chosun Chongdokboo) actively spread 'The Movement of Rural Development in Korea. At the same time there were many rural -mini libraries in Korean rural and fishing community. Under the colony of Japanese Empire, colony policy was itself very tough that Japanese Empire did their utmost ideas to win Korean culture over and Japanzing Korean with every possible pressures. Since rural-mini libraries were planned by the chosun Governor-General Department, however, were established by Korean themselves with the property of local education center( Hyanggyo). Therefore, rural-mini libraries were as facilities to promote rural economic development for providing Japanese with some materials which need to conduct a war, and to introduce local people to participate in civilizing activity themselves and farmers and fishermen were forced to group to be educated in Japanese language and its reading. Rural-mini libraries were, as it were, not as facilities for enlightening Korean peoples but as facilities for civilizing Koreans.

촉지적 공간으로서의 영화 '장미의 이름'의 장서각에 관한 연구 (A study on the library of 'The Name of the Rose' as a Haptic space)

  • The theories of optical/haptic perception provide us contrasting insights into the perception of space in movie and architecture. Through the lenses of these theories, this study aims to analyse the optical and haptical aspect of the medieval library of the film, The Name of the Rose. The dominance of vision over the other senses has been maintained by many philosophers, such as Plato, Aristotle, and Aquinas, and this trend leads to the development of the hierarchical and perspective space of Renaissance and Modern Architecture. Those conceptions of optical space help us not only identify space as clear and distinct three-dimensional entity but also separate the subject and the object. However, tactile/haptic perception is more useful to explain the experience of film and contemporary architecture than optical perception. This haptic space is developed by Alois Riegl, Walter Benjamin, and Gilles Deleuze. This study intends to search for the difference between two perceptions on the architectural space of the movie, examine the relation between architecture and human, space and user.

우리나라 '한 도시 한 책' 운동 선정도서 분석 (An Analysis of Books Selected for 'One Book, One City' in Korea)

  • 이 연구는 우리나라에서 2003년 이후 시행된 '한 도시 한 책' 운동의 선정도서 473권을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 우선 이 운동의 현황을 개관한 후 표방된 운동의 취지와 목적, 도서 선정 절차와 기준 등을 살펴보았다. 그리고 전체 선정도서를 선정 횟수, 출판연도, 저자, 갈래(장르), 소재(내용) 등의 측면에서 자세하게 분석하였다. 이와 같은 분석을 통해 우리나라 '한 도시 한 책' 운동 도서 선정의 주요 특성을 신간도서 선호, 어린이대상 도서 선호, 지역성 반영 등의 경향으로 정리하였으며, 이러한 경향의 이면에는 이 운동의 취지와 목적이 충분하게 이해되지 못하는 현실이 내재되어 있는 것으로 관찰되었다.

웹을 이용한 실시간 3차원 공동작업 부품정보중개시스템 개발 (Development of a Real Time 3D Collaboration and Part Information Brokering System Using WWW(World Wide Web))

  • We developed a Part Information Brokering System, namely PIBS, that can inter-link part suppliers and buyers using WWW(World Wide Web). The major contribution of this paper is that the system provides a 3D collaboration environment that enables multiple users to share the same workspace where they cooperatively manipulate part features in real time. PIBS carries out two major functions: one to maintain part data in a part library, and the other to provide the means for the clients to cooperate. An object-oriented database is used for the part library which stores apart information registered by part suppliers. VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language) the ISO standard for 3D visualization on WWW, is used to represent 3D part models. Several Java programs have been implemented to support synchronous and a synchronous communication of the 3D models. Once the users are interconnected through the system, a user's manipulation of part objects is transparently and instantaneously transmitted to the others. This means that all the participants can are the same view and movement of the 3D part models. Since the system is developed using a Java applet-server architecture, it requires no additional software other than standard web browser. The prototype system has been successfully implemented, and demonstrated its applicability to virtual 3D part information sharing.

  • 이 연구에서는 '한 책' 독서운동의 실천과정에서 목표의 설정, 책의 선정, 독서와 토론 및 프로그램이라는 네 가지 단계에 초점을 맞추어, 미국의 시애틀, 시카고, 전국대상의 'The Big Read', 우리나라의 서울, 청주 등의 '한 책, 한 도시' 독서운동 사례를 검토하였다. '한 책' 독서운동은 대중독서운동으로서 갖는 일반적 특성 및 독서와 토론을 통한 리터리시와 커뮤니케이션 향상이라는 목표를 공유하는 한편, 지역사회의 특성에 따른 개별성과 고유성을 서서히 드러내고 있는 것으로 보인다. '한 책'의 선정에 문학고전의 영향력이 커지고 있으며, 다양한 관전에서 작성된 '한 책'의 독서 및 토론안내서와 프로그램은 문화적 컨텐츠로서 가치가 생겨나고 있다.
