The checklist method is one of the oldest and traditional approaches to the evaluation of library collection. A list of items is checked against the library holdings as the percentage of items held is calculated. This paper reports an evaluation of the KISTI's SciTech journal collection with checklist method. The checklist of SciTech Collection has been made by major STM Databases in STN International.

Research and development projects in Research and development projects in Korea are ineffectively conducted due to the lack of a system for effectively planning, conducting and disseminating the result of the research projects. In this study, we have designed a framework for system that can be used in the planning and managing stage of National R & D information to guarantee standardization and extendability of the information. A national R & D technology information portal system for managing the distributed national R & D information on a single database is suggested based on this framework for the construction of a more effective information support system and the dissemination of national R & D information between researchers.

The purpose of this study is to explore text data of nursing start-up. 55 literatures were extracted from MEDLINE, Embase and Cochrane Library Data BASE. Text network analysis applied by using python network program. Key words with highest frequency and degree centrality were 'business', 'care', 'nursing', 'healthcare', 'service'. Keywords with highest degree centrality were 'mission', 'vision', 'team'. Based on the results nursing entrepreneurship support should be provided to develop competitive nursing services reflecting the specificity and science of nursing, to strengthen business competencies essential for nursing entrepreneurship, to expand nursing expertise and to present role models. The result will serve a basement to development systematic educational program and theory in nursing start-up.

The purpose of this study is to extract metadata based on Dublin Core from national construction information DBs, to design XML schema from the extracted metadata and to apply the previous works to integrated information retrieval system. To extract metadata, co-work was performed with librarians in the field of construction information, and. as a result, twelve metadata elements from Dublin Core and one administrative metadata could be extracted. Based on the investigation and analysis of those thirteen metadata elements, XML schema design process was described in detail. finally, the service environments of integrated information retrieval system to which XML schema was applied was introduced. Further study was also provided.

This study described about development the integrated management system for research reports and construction full text database of KAERI reports. This system enables centralization of various information related to reports by connecting with management information system. The advantages of this study are consistency of database between digital library and MIS, reduction of budget and manpower and increase of research productivity.

To improve the international competitiveness of research and academic libraries in Korea, it is essential to review the total amount of domestic information resources in comparison with those of other advanced countries, and then to make their best use. In this study, an attempt is made to estimate the annual budget for collecting foreign knowledge information resources spent by academic and research libraries in Korea. This budget estimate could be used for a basis for setting up the appropriate collection size and the efficient channel for distributing and sharing information resources among academic and research libraries on the governmental level. The total budget for collecting foreign knowledge information resources, including foreign monographs and scholarly journals in print, and the budget for foreign electronic journals, and web databases were estimated for academic libraries and research libraries, respectively, while the budget for international document delivery services was estimated without distinction between the types of libraries.

As interdisciplinary research has been dominant in various fields, the purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between interdisciplinarity and research impact in the field of Library and Information Science. For a data set, ten journals ranked as the top of 2011 JCR's in terms of JIF (Journal Impact Factor) were selected. The citation data of 1,873 articles from the ten journals were collected from the WoS during the period from 2006 to 2010. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, as network analysis was conducted to investigate the interdisciplinarity of LIS field, interdisciplinarity indicators, and research impact factors were statistically analyzed. The findings of this study confirmed the interdisciplinary knowledge structure of the LIS field as previous studies identified. More importantly, this study demonstrated that a positive correlation existed between interdisciplinarity represented as betweenness centrality and research impact.

This research aims to present an archive on the management knowledge information resources of Student Independent Movement under the rule of Japanese Imperialism in a viewpoint document information and archives. They are produced a various of document knowledge information and was formed knowledge information resource management and archives in a library, a newspaper office, Independence Hall, Nation Archives of Korea, and school media center. The result of this research was looked forward to help to R&D of knowledge information resource management in values and competencies for Student Independent Movement.

The most of all, this study is planned to search an ideal methods to develop the digital library system for our korean ancient books for their safe preservation and, at the same time, for their perusal of transcendental time and space : first. to offer the various access points like traditional oriental Four parts Classics classification, current subject classification and index keyword, etc. : second, to program a digital library system using MARC or XML, but with all bibliographic descriptive elements as possible; third, to prepare the more easy annotated bibliography and index for users' better comprehension, and last, to build original text database for practical reading to avoid the damage of original text. This type of korean ancient books digital library will be developed to the real international bibliographic control by networking enter the same kinds of internal and external organizations.

This study aims to analyze the current status of continuing education for academic librarians based on the records of education. For this purpose, the study investigated the academic librarian's preferences for the topics of continuing education in terms of regional and monthly differences using the 30,404 education records in university and college library statistics of Korean Education and Research Information Service (KERIS). The results shows that 'academic database system' and 'cataloging' were the most preferred topics, and there were topical differences between the academic librarians in university and college.
