There were observed the host-parasite relationship between rice grains and contaminating fungi indicated by the fungal penetration degree in the tested rices. The results were as follows ; 1. The fungal penetration could be observed in the outer layer of the rices but couldn't be seen in the starch portin of the tested rices. 2. The Gram staining method was better than the PAS staining method for the observation of fungi penetration into the rices.

Ultrastructural observations of mycelial and tissue phase with dimorphic fungal pathogen Coccidioides immitis were studied by electron microscopy of thin sections. 1. In mycelial phase of C.immitis contains normal cell components such as nucleus, mitochondria, endoplamsic reticulum, intracytoplasmic membrane system, cell wall and cell membrane as observed in the other encaryotic cells. 2. In tissue phase of C. immitis was larger than mycelial phase in cell size and observed much more vacuoles than mycelial phase. 3. In the contrast of mycelial phase of C. immitis, the tissue phase of cells were observed fibril form of capsular layer.

An effective live load model for analyzing probable maximum live load effects such as moment and shear in transverse direction was developed. The main procedure of this live load model is composed of four parts, i.e., firstly, determination of the appropriate influence lines in longitudinal direction, secondly, application of the characteristics of vehicles and traffic patterns in longitudinal direction, thirdly, determination of the appropriate influence lines in transverse direction, and fourthly, application of the characteristics of vehicles and traffic patterns in transverse direction. Through this procedure, the probabilistic distributions of maximum probable load effects are deduced in the form of probability density function (PDF) and/or cumulative density function(CDF). This live load model is able to consider local or global deterioration of bridges in the structural analysis.

플라즈마 디스플레이용 구동회로에서는 현재 160V의 높은 전압을 이용하고 있다. 이러한 높은 공급전압을 사용하기 위해서는 낮은 전압의 경우보다 높은 단가의 스위칭 소자를 사용할 수 밖에 없다. 따라서 플라즈마 디스플레이 시스템의 가격을 결정하는 데 중요한 요인으로 분석하고 있다. 본 논문에선 이러한 점을 고려하여 공급전압의 저전압화를 위한 한가지 모델을 제시한다. 먼저 본 논문에서 제시한 저전압화 모델을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 그 가능성을 확인한다. 다음에 실제 시판되고 있는 스위칭 소자를 이용하여 모델의 현실성을 검토한 결과를 제시하여 본 논문에서 제시한 저전압화 모델의 실효성을 입증한다.

This article presents the development and application of educational programs at Chungnam National University(CNU). College of engineering in CNU developed the engineering education program, CNU Engineering Fair, in 2009, and it is annually holding in September or October. The purposes of the fair are to show superiority of the college of engineering students of CNU, to strengthen the industry-university cooperation and to motivate students to lead their engineering interests. As a result of the fair, the opportunity to understand the college of engineering has been increased for students in the college of engineering as well as the public. As the development of human resources has been concerned, it gives us a chance for individual development and career development. Finally, the fair causes interests in engineering to high school students.

this paper presents the findings of a study in which throat cultures was ontained from all grade of primary school surrounding Seoul area. The number and percentages of children with positive throat cultures of streptococci were 181 cases (9.4%) among 1914 cases. Group A streptococci composed 4.3% (83 cases) of betahemolytic streptococci recovered. A total of 181 strains of group A streptococci were tested for susceptibility to 21 anibiotics in vitro. The strains were almost equally sensitive to most of the individual antibiotics : all of the group A strains were uniformly susceptible to bacitracin ; 93.6% to ampicillin ; 82.3% to erythromycin. The susceptibility to colymycin to colymycin and kanamycin were not found.

There are many reports on the various methods of treatment for hallux valgus. 1st metatarsal proximal osteotomy with distal soft tissue procedure or 1st metatarsophalangeal joint arthrodesis has been conventionally used for treatment of severe hallux valgus. We performed a new double chevron osteotomy in 3 cases and obtained satisfying results. We present this procedure as a new method of treatment for severe hallux valgus.
