  • Routing protocols in Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networks(DTN) are important to enhance the performance of transmission delay and delivery success ratio. In this paper, we propose an efficient DTN routing algorithm, called "Nobility Pattern based Routing(MPR)", that controls the total number of transferred message copies based on mobility patterns of mobile nodes. We consider a realistic "Levy walk" mobility pattern that has a super-diffusive property which well represents human mobility pattern. We implemented a DTN simulator using ONE simulator for the proposed MPR algorithm and Levy walk mobility pattern. Simulation results show that mobility patterns are very important for accurate evaluation of DTN routing performance, and the proposed MPR enhances the routing performance of delivery delay and success delivery ratio under realistic mobility pattern.

  • This paper analyzes the performance of the Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol and Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) for Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) using node mobility models. Mobility affects the performance of a routing protocol as it causes changes to network topology. Thus, evaluating the performance of a MANET routing protocol requires mobility models that can accurately represent the movements of mobile nodes. Therefore, this paper evaluates the performance of the AODV and OLSR routing protocols using the random way point model and the Levy walk model by the ns-2 simulations.

  • A variety of routing protocols targeted specifically at mobile ad-hoc network environments have been developed. Mobile ad-hoc network is a self-organizing temporary network, operating without the aid of any established wired infrastructure. The proposed protocol supports seamless communication services between the mobile hosts within a mobile ad-hoc network environments. In particular, our protocol makes faster route re-establishment possible by maintaining multiple paths in each mobile host, and also, the protocol provides reliable communication environments. We compare the performance of RWP model with that of LW model. This paper shows delivery ratio with single path and non-disjoint multiple path according to mobility model and node numbers.
