산업별로 본 성별 임금격차에 관한 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Wage Gap by Industries)

  • This study estimates gender wage gap by the Korean industries. The empirical findings are as follows: 1. The sex segregation by industries has not improved. 2. The average wage in $\ulcorner$electricity, transportation, warehousing, financial institutions$\lrcorner$ is relatively higher than others. On the contrary, the average wage in $\ulcorner$mining and manufacturing$\lrcorner$ and $\ulcorner$wholesale and retail, food, loading$\lrcorner$ is relatively lower than others. 3. The gender wage gap in $\ulcorner$electricity, transportation, warehousing, financial institutions$\lrcorner$ is relatively lower than others. On the contrary, the gender wage gap in $\ulcorner$mining and manufacturing$\lrcorner$ is relatively higher than others. The gender wage gap has declined annually. The gender wage gap in industries with lower wage level is higher. The decline of gender wage gap cannot be interpreted as a relaxation of sexual discrimination.

Can Minimum Wage Policy Increase Personal Income? -Evidence from China

  • Purpose: As an important provision to protect the rights and interests of low-income groups, it is worth studying whether the minimum wage policy can improve the quality of life for people. Research design, data and methodology: Using data from the 2015 and 2017 China General Social Survey (CGSS), this paper employs the logit model to estimate the probability of an individual's annual income being higher than the per capita disposable income of their province. It also utilizes the DID model to analyze the impact of minimum wage increases on individuals' annual incomes. Results: The analysis reveals that an overall increase in the minimum wage raises the probability of an individual's annual income exceeding the per capita disposable income by 3%. Among them, the probability increased by 2.2% for males and by 3.2% for females. Furthermore, the impact of the minimum wage on annual income varies depending on the individual's income level. Notably, the most positive and significant impact is observed for individuals whose income level is close to the minimum wage standard. Conclusions: This provides evidence that the increase in the minimum wage has effectively improved the quality of life for the population.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the relationship between employment stability, wage level, welfare system, working condition, job satisfaction and organizational commitment in order to find out ways to develop and competitiveness of the nano-convergence industries. Through this study, we conducted the possibility of deriving organizational commitment by job satisfaction which is given through employment stability, wage level, welfare system, and working condition for continuing their work life. In order to find relationships between each concepts, we used a multiple regression analysis with job satisfaction and commitment as dependent variable and employment stability, wage level, welfare system, and working condition as independent variables. Through this study, it was expected to increase the organizational commitment through the job satisfaction of the employees if a changing method of employees management is centered on some tasks suggested for the sound working condition and efficient utilization policies.

임금근로자의 고용형태와 소득수준에 따른 건강차이 (The Difference of Health According to employment Status and Income Level of Wage-Earners)

  • The aim of this study was to examine whether health status is different according to employment status and income level in wage-earners. We analyzed wage-earners of 2199 men and 1194 women aged 30-64 years, using data from the 2006 Korean Labor and Income Panel Study(KLIPS). The difference of health status according to employment status and income level was compared with the multiple logistic regression and the standardized concentration index of ill-health. The risk of ill-health was high when waged-earners had low income. The same is true for poor employment status when their employment status was unstable as in manual laborers, irregular workers, temporary, daily workers or part-time workers. furthermore, the wage-earners with lower income and a relatively disadvantageous employment status showed the lowest health status compared to other groups. Ill-health was relatively more concentrated in lower income group and poor employment status. This study identified the existence of health inequality among various employment status of wage-earners. It is suggested that policies that deal with the inequality in social class may have an important impact on the health of the population.

민간경비원의 임금만족이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 (Influence that Wage Satisfaction of the private Security Guards has on Devotion Organization)

  • 민간경비산업은 사회적 변화로 인하여 가장 짧은 기간에 많은 성장을 거듭해 왔지만, 여러 가지 문제점도 함께 양산되어 있다. 이중 가장 시급한 해결과제는 민간경비원의 임금문제로서, 본 연구의 목적은 민간경비원의 사회인구통계학적 특성에 따른 임금만족과 조직몰입의 차이를 규명하며, 임금만족요인이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향정도를 분석하는데 있다. 연구의 결과에 따르면 첫째, 임금수준${\cdot}$격차만족 및 임금제도${\cdot}$복지후생만족에서 여성의 결과 수치가 남성보다 높게 나타났고, 연령별 측정결과는 26세 이상의 집단에서 높았다. 학력별 측정에서는 전문대졸업자들은 임금수준${\cdot}$격차만족에서 높게 나타난 반면 대졸이상 졸업자들 즉, 학력이 높을수록 임금제도${\cdot}$복지후생에 더 높게 나타났다. 학력에 따른 결과는 학력이 높아질수록 일의 성과 및 생산성에 따라 임금을 더욱 많이 받아야 한다는 생각이 높아져 가고 있다. 둘째, 성별에 따른 차이로는 남성 직원이 여성 직원보다 조직몰입이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 남성은 스스로 원하기 때문에 몰입하는 행동인 정서적 몰입에 높은 반응을 보인 반면, 여성은 개인과 조직과의 관계에서 이익과 손실의 합리적 계산에 의해 나타나는 비자발적 몰입인 근속적 몰입에 높게 나타났다. 넷째, 조직에 대한 몰입은 연령별로 살펴보면 26세 이상의 집단에서 높게 나타났고, 학력은 대졸이상의 집단에서 정서적 몰입과, 근속적 몰입이 모두 높게 나타났다. 직위, 월수입, 근무경력에서는 장기 근무자가 모두 높게 측정되었으며, 이들의 조직몰입은 아주 높다 할 수 있다. 다섯째, 임금은 한 조직에서 자신의 위치를 대변해 줄 수 있는 좋은 척도이다. 학력이 낮을수록 임금의 수준과 격차에 관심도가 높지만, 학력이 높을수록 임금제도 및 복지후생에 관심이 더 높았다. 임금에 대한 만족감은 학력과 직위, 근무경력에 영향을 미침으로 오랜 시간을 근무한 경력자들은 임금에 대한 만족과 함께 조직에 대한 몰입 또한 높았다. 따라서 민간경비 산업의 발전과 민간경비원의 조직몰입을 높이기 위하여, 민간경비원의 임금수준 체계화 및 복지후생 처 후의 질을 개선하는 한편, 산${\cdot}$학 협력을 통한 하나의 직업군으로써 자리매김 하기위해서는 임금과 복지후생에 대한 많은 요인들이 지속적으로 연구 분석이 되어야 할 것이다.

치과기공물 원가계산의 비교분석 (Comparison Analysis of a Cost Price for Dental Prosthetic Restoration)

  • Dental prosthetic restoration shows a big difference of cost per itemized unit depending on the size of dental labs, facility standard, manpower, and performance. Even the same dental labs have distinctive cost according to manufacturing performance, inflation, and the number of workers. However, in apite of such a change of circumstances, it appears to be quite stable in the relative cost per itemized unit unless the manufacturing trend of particular item changes dramatically. Therefore, if the relative number of cost per itemized unit, which is produced by costing, is indicated, we are able to utilize it effectively as a standard wage estimate. If the wage of dental prosthetic restoration is determined on the basis of cost, it is desirable that the relative value of cost and that of wage are identical. But, by means of comparative analysis, since the relative value of wage reveals mostly lower than that of cost depending on an item, it is considered that the wage is not reflecting the cost approproately. Due to the subdivision and the profession of medical technology, the new development of wage items for dental prosthetic restoration is required. This means that the need for the establishment of new wage items should be presented as the general concept of dental prothetic restroation changes and the level of pathologic technology increases. The current wage structure has differences in the degree of difficulty accroding to unit items and in the cost factors. Nevertheless, the differences are not reflected enough to the wage, so there is potential to lower the medical quality through the use of low-proce materials to avoid the increase of cost and the work process which skips a manufacturing step. The new items of dental prosthetic restoration also increases, but the development of proper numerical value system is not supported. Thus, the right proce is set mostly by applying to the wage of a similar item. Since most wages are established by an individual agreement between the dental clinic institute and the dental labs, the propriety of wage level lacks. Therefore, it is urgent to provide and promote the system of a fair work charge by a standard cost which can be applied to all medical institute.

요양보호사 처우개선비 정책이 임금인상에 미친 효과 (The Effect of Income Support Allowance for Care Workers on Their Wage Increase)

  • Background: The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the income support allowance policy for the care workers on wage level. Methods: The analysis data was constructed using database (DB) of long-term care institution, DB of long-term care personnel status, and DB of health insurance qualification and contribution possessed by National Health Insurance Services. We analyzed the wage status of care workers 2009 to 2016 through basic analysis. We used the difference-in-difference analysis method for the workers who worked in the same institution from 2012 to 2013, The effects of the income allowance policy on wage increase were analyzed. Results: As a result of the net effect of the income support allowance policy, the monthly average wage of the care worker increased by 25,676 won and the hourly wage increased by 478 won. As a result of the analysis, it can be confirmed that the income support allowance policy has achieved some of the goals of raising the wage level of the care workers, and the effect of raising wages for other occupations in the long-term care business can be confirmed. Conclusion: The low wage problem of long-term care workers such as care workers is not the only problem in Korea. In other countries, there are various wage support policies for employees. In particular, it is necessary to refer to the improvement in the treatment of care workers in Japan and wage pass-through in the United States. In addition to wages, there is a need to promote policies to provide employment motivation through efforts to improve their social status and improve their job status and career development for employees in long-term care facilities.

실업근로자의 성별 의중임금함수 추정 (Estimation of Reservation Wage Functions by Sex)

  • 실업근로자의 노동시장으로의 재진입 또는 재취업과 관련한 실업근로자의 의중임금에 대한 연구는 대단히 중요한 의미를 가진다고 볼 수 있다. 왜냐하면 한 가계 내 핵심 노동력인 남자의 의중임금 결정메커니즘과 가계보조적 성향이 강한 여자의 의중임금 결정메터니즘 간에눈 차이가 있을 것이기 때문이다. 이러한 맥락에서 약 1,200명의 실업자를 대상으로 조사한 미시적 자료를 이용하여 성별 의중임금함수(reservation wage function)를 추정함으로써 성별 의중임금함수의 상이성에 따라 남녀간 의중임금 결정메커니즘이 서로 다름을 밝히고자 한다. 그 결과 성별 의중임금 결정요인의 중요 설명변수들을 살펴보면 남자의 경우에는 전 직장의 임금소득, 연령, 학력, 실업기간 등이 중요 설명변수였으나 여자의 경우에는 전 직장의 임금소득, 학력, 연령, 자격증 유무 등이 중요 설명변수가 되는 것으로 나타났다. 여자보다 남자의 경우 저학력에 비하여 고학력일수록 의중임금이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 여자보다 남자의 경우 실업기간이 길어질수록 의중임금이 더 큰 폭으로 하락하고 타가구원의 소득이 있는 경우에 의중임금이 더 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 본 연구는 조사 지역의 범위와 관련한 자료의 한계를 인정한다 하더라도 우리나라 의중임금과 관련한 연구에 많은 시사점을 줄 것으로 기대한다.

전국 병원간호사의 임금구조와 임금수준 결정요인 분석 (Nurse Wage Structure and Its Determinants in Hospital Industry)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the wage structure of hospital nurses in Korea and to analyze the factors that determine the level of nurses' wages. Methods: First, a mobile survey on nurses' wages was conducted with a total of 3,742 nurses working in hospitals. A literature review was also done. Second, a regression model was applied to analyze the determinants of nurses' wages. Results: The average monthly wage of 3,742 nurses based on the survey was KRW 3,588,000 and the standardized monthly income of 3,742 nurses was estimated to be KRW 3,364,000 as of the end of 2018. The results of regression analysis(R2=61.7%) showed that gender, nursing experience, designated night duty, ownership, and number of beds were statistically significant variables for nurses' wages at 1% significance level. The monthly wage of nurses working in total nursing care wards was not significantly different from those working in other wards at 5% significance level. Conclusion: The substantial difference in nurses' wages according to job career, hospital size, region, etc may result in the low proportion of nurses with more than three to five years of service experience and the high turnover of less-experienced workers. Consideration should be given to adjust the gap in wage level and a standard nurse wage system could be effective measures.

생계급여하에서의 최적 소득조사 (A Study on Optimal Auditing Under the Living Wage System)

  • 본 논문은 전통적인 탈세이론 및 세무조사이론을 활용하여 우리나라 국민기초생활보장제도의 주요 정책수단인 생계급여하에서의 소득탈루(부정수급)와 정책당국 입장에서의 최적 소득조사전략에 대한 이론 분석을 시도하고, 이를 통해 소득파악 제고를 위한 정책적 시사점을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 생계급여의 누수는 최저생계비 부근의 소득자들을 중심으로 소득탈루가 집중됨으로써 발생하는데, 임의조사(random auditing), 차단조사(cut-off auditing), 차별조사 등의 소득조사전략별 비교분석을 통해, 일정 수준 이하의 신고소득에 대하여 신고소득 수준에 반비례하는 조사확률을 적용하는 차단식(cut-off) 차별조사전략을 적용하는 것이 소득파악률 제고 및 급여누수 최소화를 위해 가장 바람직함을 입증하였다.
