Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have given rise to climate change which is one of the most serious environmental challenges that the world faces today. In response, Republic of Korea has proposed "Low Carbon, Green Growth" as a new economic paradigm accompanying with the ultimate aim of building a sense of responsibility for the environment. Korean government has set the ambitious national GHG emission reduction target which aims 37% reduction in the business-as-usual (BAU) level of 2030. The transportation sector plays a key role in this target. In the transportation sector, the GHG reduction target of 34.3% in the BAU level by 2020 has been allocated in order to consider the industrial specificity. Furthermore, it is known that the GHG reduction in the transportation sector has relatively minimal side effects compared to those of other sectors. In order to meet this national GHG reduction target, Korean government has set $CO_2$ emission regulation of vehicle for 2020. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the reduction effects by the average GHG regulation of vehicles. $CO_2$ emissions, between 2009 and 2013 were analysed by reduction measure such as technology improvement, light-weight, segment shift, diesel vehicle sales. During this period, $CO_2$ of vehicle was reduced every year by 19.9 g/km (i.e., 3.3% reduction per year). $CO_2$ reduction of imported vehicle is greater than domestic vehicle because of segment shift toward small size vehicle and higher diesel vehicle sales.

In this paper, we propose a road lane color recognition method from the image obtained from a driving vehicle. In autonomous vehicle techniques, lane information becomes more important as the level of autonomous driving such as lane departure warning and dynamic lane keeping assistance is increased. In particular the lane color recognition, especially the white and the yellow lanes, is necessary technique because it is directly related to traffic accidents. In this paper, color information of lane and road area is mapped to a 2-dimensional S-color space based on lane detection. And the center of the feature distribution is obtained by using an improved mean-shift algorithm in the S-color space. The lane color is determined by using the distance between the center coordinates of the color features of the left and right lanes and the road area. In various illumination conditions, about 97% color recognition rate is achieved.

IEEE 1149.1 test architecture was proposed to support the test of elements within the boards. It is a large serial shift register that uses the TDI pin as an input and the TDO pin as an output. Even though it performs the board level test perfectly, there is a problems of running system level test when the boards are equipped to the system. To test real time operation signal on test pin, output speed of serial shift register chain must be above double clock speed of shift register. In this paper, we designed a runtime test architecture and a runtime test procedure under running system environments to capture runtime signal at system clock rate. The suggested runtime test architecture are simulated by Altera Max+Plus 10.0. through the runtime test procedure. The simulation results show that operations of the suggested runtime test architecture are very accurate.
The problem of determining the maintenance point which minimizes the process-related total cost is called the 'process mean shift problem'. By expanding and integrating the existing maintenance models that have been partially progressed, we present a expanded and integrated maintenance model which reflects the production site where various situations occur. To implement this, we set both the upper and lower limits of the product specification, and adopted the quality loss function for conforming items. Also, we set the process variance of the wear level as a function rather than a constant. In this study, we developed two general functions to the wear level. One is about the production volume and the other is maintenance cost. As a result, this study is expected to be a maintenance model that can be applied to various processes. In the future, this study can be developed as a profit maximization model by adding profit items from product sales, and expansion to a maintenance model that introduces failure to the model of this study can be considered.
Purpose: This study was done to compare edema and pain after completing a nurse's daily shift and to examine the effects of self leg massage which was usually used for reducing nurses' lower extremity edema and pain after their shift. Methods: The research design was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Study subjects were 81 nurses who took a self leg massage program created by the researcher. Self leg massage was done 15 times during 3 weeks. Data were collected from September 21 to October 31, 2007. The level of lower extremity edema was measured by ankle and calf circumference by a tapeline in cm and the pain score was measured by using a subjective numbering rating scale. Data were analyzed with the SPSS 12.0 program using statistics of repeated measures ANOVA. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in pain according to the department. There was a statistically significant difference in lower extremity edema and pain in nurses after their shift and self leg massage. Conclusion: Self leg massage was effective for relieving nurses' lower extremity edema and pain. Therefore, it is proposed that standardized self leg massage should be applied as a method for nurses' lower extremity edema and pain.
In low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication systems, more severe phase distortion due to Doppler shift is frequently detected in the received signal than in cases of geostationary earth orbit (GEO) satellite systems or terrestrial mobile systems. Therefore, an estimation of Doppler shift would be one of the most important factors to enhance performance of LEO satellite communication system. In this paper, a new adaptive Doppler compensation scheme using location information of a user terminal and satellite, as well as a weighting factor for the reduction of prediction error is proposed. The prediction performance of the proposed scheme is simulated in terms of the prediction accuracy and the cumulative density function of the prediction error, with considering the offset variation range of the initial input parameters in LEO satellite system. The simulation results showed that the proposed adaptive compensation algorithm has the better performance accuracy than Ali's method. From the simulation results, it is concluded the adaptive compensation algorithm is the most applicable method that can be applied to LEO satellite systems of a range of altitude between 1,000 km and 2,000 km for the general error tolerance level, M = 250 Hz.

This paper proposes a novel face detection method that finds tiny faces located at a long range even with low-resolution input images captured by a mobile robot. The proposed approach can locate extremely small-sized face regions of $12{\times}12$ pixels. We solve a tiny face detection problem by organizing a system that consists of multiple detectors including a mean-shift color tracker, short- and long-rage face detectors, and an omega shape detector. The proposed method adopts the long-range face detector that is well trained enough to detect tiny faces at a long range, and limiting its operation to only within a search region that is automatically determined by the mean-shift color tracker and the omega shape detector. By focusing on limiting the face search region as much as possible, the proposed method can accurately detect tiny faces at a long distance even with a low-resolution image, and decrease false positives sharply. According to the experimental results on realistic databases, the performance of the proposed approach is at a sufficiently practical level for various robot applications such as face recognition of non-cooperative users, human-following, and gesture recognition for long-range interaction.
Objectives: The main purpose of this study was to assess firefighters' daily personal noise exposure and explore noise levels related to specific tasks and their contributions to total noise exposure using 24-hour full-shift noise exposure measurements with task-based data. Methods: Noise exposure was assessed for eight firefighters (two rescuers, two drivers, and four suppressors) using time-activity diaries. We collected a total of 24 full-shift personal noise sample sets (three samples per a firefighter). The 24-hour shift-adjusted daily personal noise exposure level (Lep,d), eight weekly personal noise exposures (Leq,w), and 40 task-specific Leq values (Leq activity) were calculated via the ISO/NIOSH method. Results: The firefighter noise-sample datasets showed that most firefighters are exposed to noise levels above EU recommended levels at a low-action value. The highest noise exposure was for rescuers, followed by drivers and suppressors. Noise measurements with time-at-task information revealed that 82.3% of noise exposure occurred when checking equipment and responding to fire or emergency calls. Conclusions: The results indicate that firefighters are at risk of noise-induced hearing loss. Therefore, efforts at noise-control are necessary for their protection. This task-specific noise exposure assessment also shows that protective measures should be focused on certain tasks, such as checking and testing equipment.

In this paper, we propose a new method for measuring image sticking of an OLED display using a human visual test. We determined that the perceptual image sticking threshold is 2% of luminance difference at 200 nits and 1% at 100 nits, respectively. Color shift must also be considered when evaluating image sticking, as a ${\Delta}$(u', v') shift of just over 0.002 can be recognized regardless of background brightness. Perception of image sticking is affected by the background level, test pattern, and ambient illumination conditions. The evaluation standard must consider both luminance variation and color shift simultaneously.

In this paper, the error rate performance of L-level amplitude shift keying (ASK), M-ary phase shift keying (PSK) and amplitude phase keying (APK) systems have been studied in the presence of interference and noise. Using the derived error probability equations, the error rate performance of each L-level ASK and M-ary PSK system has been evaluated in terms of carrier-to-noise power ratio (CNR), carrier-to-interferer power ratio (CIR), and envelope distribution of interferer. These results are combined and then the error rate performance of APK signal has been found. Finally, the error rate performance is compared and discussed.
