This paper examines the effect of active labor market policy on the unemployment rates in 8 welfare states. This paper focuses on the following questions: what are the major predictors of the changes in unemployment rates?; and what is the effect of active labor market policy in reducing unemployment rates? Using the data from Comparative Welfare States Data Set by Stephens (1997), Key Indicators of the Labour Market by ILO (1999) and Social Expenditure Database by OECD (1999), this paper attempts to answer the above research questions. Fuller-Battese model, a data analysis method in pooled cross-sectional time-series analysis, is adopted to identify variables predicting changes in unemployment rates. This paper analyzes the predictors by using 3 analysis models about 2 types of unemployment (overall unemployment and long term unemployment). Results are as follows: (1) economic variable such as changes in GDP has a positive effect in reducing unemployment rates; (2) active labor market policy has a positive effect in reducing unemployment rates as well; (3) job brokering service among 3 major active labor market programs has a positive effect in reducing unemployment rates; and (4) there is an interaction effect between unemployment benefit level and active labor market policy in reducing unemployment rates. Through the empirical analysis, this paper provides valuable knowledge about effects of active labor market policy on unemployment in 8 welfare states and discusses implications for the active labor market policy in Korea.

Identification of humans from multiple view points is an important task for surveillance and security purposes. For optimal performance the system should use the maximum information available from sensors. Multimodal biometric systems are capable of utilizing more than one physiological or behavioral characteristic for enrollment, verification, or identification. Since gait alone is not yet established as a very distinctive feature, this paper presents an approach to fuse face and gait for identification. In this paper we will use the single camera case i.e both the face and gait recognition is done using the same set of images captured by a single camera. The aim of this paper is to improve the performance of the system by utilizing the maximum amount of information available in the images. Fusion in considered at decision level. The proposed algorithm is tested on the NLPR database.

A novel Schiff base N-(2,4-dinitro-phenyl)-N'-(1-phenyl-ethylidene)-hydrazine has been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction, elemental analysis, IR spectra and UV-vis spectrum. The crystal belongs to monoclinic with space group P21/n. The molecules are connected via intermolecular O-$H{\cdots}O$ hydrogen bonds into 1D infinite chains. The crystal structure is consolidated by the intramolecular N-$H{\cdots}O$ hydrogen bonds. weak intermolecular C-$H{\cdots}O$ hydrogen bonds link the molecules into intriguing 3D framework. Furthermore, Density functional theory (DFT) calculations of the structure, stabilities, orbital energies, composition characteristics of some frontier molecular orbitals and Mulliken charge distributions of the title compound were performed by means of Gaussian 03W package and taking B3LYP/6-31G(d) basis set. The time-dependent DFT calculations have been employed to calculate the electronic spectrum of the title compound, and the UV-vis spectra has been discussed on this basis. The results show that DFT method at B3LYP/6-31G(d) level can well reproduce the structure of the title compound.

Robotic Drilling Systems(RDSs) set the standard for the factory automation systems in aerospace manufacturing. With the benefits of cost effective drilling and predictive maintenance, RDSs can provide greater flexibility in the manufacturing process. The system can be easily adopted to manage very complex and time-consuming processes, such as automated fastening hole drilling processes of large aircraft sections, where it would be difficult accomplished by workers following teaching or conventional guided methods. However, in order to build an RDS based on a CAD model, the precise calibration of the Tool Center Point(TCP) must be performed in order to define the relationships between the fastening-hole target and the End Effector(EEF). Based on the kinematics principle, the robot manipulator requires a new method to correct the 3D errors between the CAD model of the reference coordinate system and the actual measurements. The system can be called as a successful system if following conditions can be met; a. seamless integration of the industrial robot controller and the IO Level communication, b. performing pre-defined drilling procedures automatically. This study focuses on implementing a new technology called iGPS into the fastening-hole-drilling process, which is a critical process in aircraft manufacturing. The proposed system exhibits better than 100-micron 3D accuracy under the predefined working space. Based on the proposed EEF fastening-hole machining process, the corresponding processes and programs are developed, and its feasibility is studied.
Our study goal is to find out how the table height influences functional ability of upper extremity to patients with stroke when they are having therapy. In this study, we tested forty patients with stroke at the age of over sixty-five who do not have visual, auditory disability and have no difficulty in communicating and moving things by using upper extremity. And they were able to pinch grip in hospital. We used occupational table for occupational therapy as Lab Materials. We also used cube and pegs board to test upper extremity functional ability. We used occupational table for occupational therapy as Lab Materials and we used cube and pegs board to test upper extremity functional ability. The method is that we measured the recommended table height that takes the subjects' size into consideration and patients' preferred table height and therapists' preferred table height and we applied them and then we have done a comparative analysis and set significance level(p<0.05). As the result, we found the Statistically significant between the recommended height and the other two, which are patients' preferred height and therapists' preferred height. We also discovered that functional ability of upper extremity varies significantly depending on each table height. We came to a conclusion that the table height had effects on the upper extremity functional ability of patients with stroke who are over sixty-five years old. It is therefore considered that the proper table height is important to improve upper extremity functional ability of patients with stroke for their physical therapy.
Purpose: The long-term experience of using osseointegrated implants for prosthetic rehabilitation of the edentulous patients shows that high success rates can be predictably achieved. Primary implant stability has been identified to be a prerequisite to achieve osseointegration. In this study, we set up the amount of removed bone so that it differed on implant installation site for each group. The influence of each initial stability on secondary stability and osseointegration was compared with time lapse using resonance frequency analysis and histomorphometric analysis. Materials and methods: A total 27 US $II^{(R)}$ (Osstem, Korea) implants were placed in the mandibular edentulous area of 3 beagle dogs. The implant site was prepared by the conventional technique with drills, and three experimental groups were divided into under-drilling group, normal-drilling group and over-drilling group. The Implant Stability Quotient (ISQ) was measured at intervals of immediately, 4, 8, 12 weeks after placement using $Osstell^{(R)}$ mentor RFA. After the animals were sacrificed, histomorphometric evaluation was executed for measuring BIC and BD. Results: 1) The under-drilled group showed most high ISQ value for whole experiment period. 2) Bone-to-implant-contact(BIC) showed the tendency to be increased gradually as the experiment period passed except the 8 weeks of the normal group. 3) The under-drilled group showed most high bone density(BD) level for whole experiment period, and it was expressed the aspect to be increased gradually according to an experiment period passage in the average of all group. 4) Resonance frequency analysis and histomorphometric analysis are presumed by generally proportional. Conclusions: As this research result, it seems that there are some correlation between resonance frequency analysis and histomorphometric analysis. As are accomplished osseointegration stably so that more superior at the region which the overpressure comes to add, it will be applicable method in clinical field.
This article tried to suggest ways to improve satisfaction of their life, as finding the determinants of the disabled through the cross-section research by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. This article used data from the 2011 investigation of actual condition for the Disabled, which is a representative of the disabled in Korea. For statistical analysis, this paper used PASW statistics 18.0 (SPSS Inc, Chicago, USA). Analysis of frequency, descriptive statistic and multiple regressions were conducted. The level of significance was set up as 0.05. As the result, we found that life satisfaction of the disabled was influenced by all factors such as factor in discrimination, socioeconomic factors, disability and health factor. Therefore, we think that the government needs to prepare a systemic method for extending right of the disabled and improving rehabilitation and independent living.

The two-phase turbulent flow past an interface-piercing circular cylinder is studied using a high-fidelity orthogonal curvilinear grid solver with a Lagrangian dynamic subgrid-scale model for large-eddy simulation and a coupled level set and volume of fluid method for air-water interface tracking. The simulations cover the sub-critical and critical and post critical regimes of the Reynolds and sub and super-critical Froude numbers in order to investigate the effect of both dimensionless parameters on the flow. Significant changes in flow features near the air-water interface were observed as the Reynolds number was increased from the sub-critical to the critical regime. The interface makes the separation point near the interface much delayed for all Reynolds numbers. The separation region at intermediate depths is remarkably reduced for the critical Reynolds number regime. The deep flow resembles the single-phase turbulent flow past a circular cylinder, but includes the effect of the free-surface and the limited span length for sub-critical Reynolds numbers. At different Froude numbers, the air-water interface exhibits significantly changed structures, including breaking bow waves with splashes and bubbles at high Froude numbers. Instantaneous and mean flow features such as interface structures, vortex shedding, Reynolds stresses, and vorticity transport are also analyzed. The results are compared with reference experimental data available in the literature. The deep flow is also compared with the single-phase turbulent flow past a circular cylinder in the similar ranges of Reynolds numbers. Discussion is provided concerning the limitations of the current simulations and available experimental data along with future research.

There is growing difference between a planned value and an actual cost for increasing as an risk of construction cost. A construction cost index is an alternative to redeem a problem, but it is still very difficult to reduce an actual differential as a price fluctuation. Furthermore an existing theory of a construction cost index is overly complex, and is unsuitable for using in working-level. This study suggests an optimum correction rate in respect of a total construction cost. It is analyzing the actual cost of 53 public buildings that the Public Procurement Service ordered. The objects are main processes that include architectural works, mechanical works, electrical works, telecommunication works, and service facilities. It is compared a total construction cost based on absolute error rate using the median from frequentist principle. For this, it is selected the suitable regression model and set a correction rate.
