  • The general conception of morbid leukorrhea is confused in its clinical application. Therefore, this studt was conducted to examine this conception based on terminology of morbid leukorrhea centering around historical literatures. The result of this study is summarized as follows. 1. Morbid leukorrhea had been considered as a disease of all women before Shou period, and then it was subdivided. 2. It was shown that morbid leukorrhea, spontaneous emission, whitish and turbid urine, and dysentery were treated by the same mwthod because their exposed regions and conditions were very similar. For this reason, it was confused to define terminology of morbid leukorrhea. 3. It was also shown that there existed both terminologies of morbid leukoeehea, as its conception in a board sense, even in Sikryoboncho. After that, however, only terminology of morbid leukorrhea was used. Currently, these terminologies tended to be used together. 4. In case of its conception in a board sense, morbid leukorrhea means all gynecological disease and syndrome of the lower burner which cause diseases in the belt channel 5. In case of its conceptio of a narrow sense, morbid leukorrhea implies disease in the front middle regions of channels and collacterals, which has been recntly considered as secretions of women.

  • Objectives: This study aims to research character of the patients with leukorrhea including Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) and symptoms associated with leukorrhea in view of Korean medicine theory. Methods: We studied 71 patients visiting ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ Korean Hospital from April, 2012 to March, 2013. The subjects were categorized in two groups, leukorrhea group (n=40) and control group (n=31). We investigated the difference of DITI and other physical symptoms between two groups. Results: The average temperature of CV4 in leukorrhea group ($29.56{\pm}0.80^{\circ}C$) were significantly lower than that of control group ($30.12{\pm}0.54^{\circ}C$)(p<0.01). And there is no statistical difference of temperature of CV17 located in chest area between two groups. But temperature difference between CV17 and CV4 (${\Delt}T$) in leukorrhea group ($1.18{\pm}0.55^{\circ}C$) is significantly higher than control group ($0.68{\pm}0.43^{\circ}C$)(p<0.01). There is no correlation between leukorrhea and some sypmtoms, like menorrhea, irregular menstruation, fatigue, constipation and loss of appetite. But leukorrhea group is more likely to suffer from dyspepsia and insomnia than control group. Conclusions: Leukorrhea group is related to lower temperature in lower abdomen than control group. And patients with leukorrhea are more likely to appear dyspepsia and insomnia than no leukorrhea group.

  • Purpose: We intended to researched the relations between abdominal temperature and leukorrhea. Methods: We selected the 26 leukorrhea patients and 17 control group. We measured 4 points abdominal temperature (Chung-wan(CV12), Kwan-won(CV4), Gui-rae(ST29)) by DITI. We checked the difference of temperature between CV12, CV4, ST29 of leukorrhea group and control group. And we checked the difference of temperature between CV12 and CV4 / Lt. ST29 and Rt. ST29 / CV12 and Lt. ST29 / CV12 and Rt. ST29 / CV4 and Lt. ST29 / CV4 and Rt. ST29. For statistics, we used Mann-Whitney test, SPSS 12.0 for windows. Results: The difference of temperature between CV12, CV4 and ST29 which are abdomen shows statistically insignificant result in this study. But, the difference of temperature between (${\Delta}T$) CV4 and Rt. ST29 which are abdomen shows statistically significant result. Conclusion: The leukorrhea patients show higher temperature CV12, CV4 and ST29 than control group. In lower abdomen, the temperature between leukorrhea and control group shows little difference.

  • Objectives This study aimed to investigate therapeutic effect of Korean Medicine Steam Therapy (KMST) for leukorrhea patients. Methods From December 1st 2013 to Nov 31st 2014, 16 leukorrhea outpatients treated with KMST filled out questionnaire before and after treatments. The questionnaire was composed of 8 question items such as sleep, appetite & digestion, urination, defecation, emotion, cold hypersensitivity, menstrual pain, leukorrhea and patients were told to evaluate their symptoms as NRS score. We analyzed mean NRS score of each question item before and after KMST by using Wilcoxon's signed rank test of SPSS ver. 19. Results Mean age of participants was 40.8±13.0 years and mean value of treatment numbers per person was 3.8±1.8 times. 43.75% (n=7) of the patients had history of vaginitis caused by gardnella vaginalis, ureaplasma urealyticum or candida albicans. All patients were treated with acupuncture, moxibustion and Korean medicine. In addition, there was no side effect reported by participants. NRS score of quantity, odor of leukorrhea, perineal unpleasant sensation such as itching, dryness, burning sensation remarkably decreased (p<0.01, p<0.05, p<0.01 each). NRS score of symptoms including sleep, urination, cold hypersensitivity, menstrual pain also remarkably decreased (p<0.05). Conclusions Symptoms of leukorrhea patients including sleep, urination, cold hypersensitivity, menstrual pain, leukorrhea showed significant decrease after treated with concurrent KMST.
