  • According to the design method for constructing the G gori(the traditional Korean jacket)collar, there are differences in form after its completion. In the construction design of the midsection of the gusset as in that of the basic G gori, not only was the positioning of the two sides of the collar not smooth, but also, when the collar strip was attached, there would be an imbalance on one side or the other so that it was difficult to achieve symetry. Therefore in this project, by applying the pattern design of the gusset midsection to that of the collar midsection, not only did attaching the collar and the collar strip create a visual effect by equalizing the lengths of the tow sides, but the construction was also easy. This method of construction introduces the three-dimensional aspect of the human form in its conic, spherical and cylindrical aspects, so that, through schematizing the scientific character of Korea's clothing, its appropriateness is verified. As a matter of fact, since th-ere in no standardization of pattern whether for educational use or for mass-produced clothing, so that even the patterns used in computer-assisted design are executed according to the designer's personal skill, the reality is that after completion of construction the quality has not been uniform. For this schematization, inverse calculation of measurements pertaining to the calculation formula and of teaching materials has been referenced. In particular, the partial requlation of the calculation formula pertaining to the basic pattern construction, the method of making the collar midsection, and the construction method of the extreme and mean ratio adjustment can be adjusted for all measurements, thereby providing the establishment of a design criterion and the possibility of the standardization of construction methods. The production method for the pattern design is as follows: 1) The conic angle for the G gori's girth, length and neck width is fixed at 70 degrees. 2) The radius of the cone is B/2. 3) The calculation formula is B/4 + 1.5cm 4) The armhole formula is B/4, the same as in the basic method. 5) The width formula is B/10. 6) The ratio of the collar junction(width of collar + width of collar strip)to the gusset length is 5:8. 7) The length of the side seam is a length intersecting the armhole line and the conic radius (B/2), that is an arc that exceeds the length of the G gori's midsection; the component ratio of this length to the collar junction is accordingly 13:5. 8) The curve frame length of the back midsection is an arc exceeding B/4(the armhole line). 9) The ratio of the sleeve opening calculation formula to the armhole length is 8:5, forming an arc with the midsection length.

  • To date, a number of stress intensity factor (SIF) solutions have been proposed for the cylindrical structure with circumferential through-wall cracks. However, each solution has a different format as well as applicable range. It is also known that there is a significant difference in predicted SIF values depending on the shape of the structure and the size of the crack. In this study, the applicability of various SIF solutions was analyzed by comparing the finite element analysis results for the case where a tensile load is applied to the cylindrical structure with circumferential through-wall crack. It is found that the calculated SIF gradually decreases and converges to a certain value with increasing length-to-radius ratio. Therefore, an appropriate length-to-radius ratio should be set in consideration of the dimensions of the actual cylindrical structure. For piping with sufficiently long cylinder, the ASME solution is found to be the most appropriate, and for a short cylinder, the API solution should be applied. On the other hand, the WEC solution requires careful attention to its application.

  • In this paper, vibration analysis of functionally graded nanoshell is studied based on the sinusoidal higher-order shear and normal deformation theory to account thickness stretching effect. To account size-dependency, Eringen nonlocal elasticity theory is used. For more accurate modeling the problem and corresponding numerical results, sinusoidal higher-order shear and normal deformation theory including out of plane normal strain is employed in this paper. The radial displacement is decomposed into three terms to show variation along the thickness direction. Governing differential equations of motion are derived using Hamilton's principle. It is assumed that the cylindrical shell is made of an arbitrary composition of metal and ceramic in which the local material properties are measured based on power law distribution. To justify trueness and necessity of this work, a comprehensive comparison with some lower order and lower dimension works and also some 3D works is presented. After presentation of comparative study, full numerical results are presented in terms of significant parameters of the problem such as small scale parameter, length to radius ratio, thickness to radius ratio, and number of modes.

  • Minimum weight design of laminated composite panel under combined loading was studied using linear and nonlinear deformation theories and by closed-form analysis and finite difference energy methods. Various buckling load factors are obatined for laminated composite panels with rectangular type longitudinal stiffeners and various longitudinal length to radius ratios, which are made from Carbon/Epoxy USNl25 prepreg and are simply-supported on four edges under combined loading, and then for them, minimum weight design analyses are carried out by the nonlinear search optimizer, ADS. This minimum weight design analyses are constructed with various process such as the simple design process, test simulation process and sensitivity analysis. Subseguently, the buckling mode shapes are obtained by buckling and minimum weight analyses.

  • This experimental study represents the results of an analysis on the characteristics of flux density distribution in the focal region of solar concentrator. The characteristics of flux density distributions are investigated to optimally design and position a cavity receiver. This was deemed very useful to find and correct various errors associated with a dish concentrator. We estimated the flux density distribution on the target placed along with focal lengths from the dish vertex to experimentally determine the focal length. It is observed that the actual focal point exists when the focal length is 2.17m. The total integrated power and percent power was 2467W and $85.8\%$, respectively, in the case of small dish, and also 2095W and $79\%$, respectively, in the case of KIERDISH II. As a result of the percent power within radius, approximately $90\%$ of the incident radiation is intercepted by about 0.06 m radius. The minimum radius of receiver in KIERDISH II is found to be 0.15m and approximately $90\%$ of the incident radiation is intercepted by receiver aperture.

  • The theoretical method is developed to Investigate the nitration characteristics of the combined cylindrical shells with an annular plate joined to the shell at any arbitrary axial position. The structural coupling between shell and plate is simulated using two types of artificial springs a translational spring is introduced for translational coupling and a rotational spring is used for rotational coupling. The springs are continuously distributed along circumferential direction. Using the Rayleigh-Ritz method the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the combined shell with an annular plate examine. The effect of Inner-to-outer radius ratio, axial position of annular plate and length-to-radius ratio of shell on vibration characteristics of combined cylindrical shells is studied. The theoretical results are verified by comparison with FEM results.

  • Based on novel Galerkin's technique, the theoretical study gives a prediction to estimate the vibrations of FG rotating cylindrical shell. Terms of ring supports have been introduced by a polynomial function. Three different laws of volume fraction are utilized for the vibration of cylindrical shells. Variation frequencies with the locations of ring supports have been analyzed and these ring supports are placed round the circumferential direction. The base of this approach is an approximate estimation of eigenvalues of proper functions which are the results of solutions of vibrating equation. Each longitudinal wave number corresponds to a particular boundary condition. The results are given in tabular and graphical forms. By increasing different value of height-to-radius ratio, the resulting backward and forward frequencies increase and frequencies decrease on increasing length-to-radius ratio. There is a new form of frequencies is obtained for different positions of ring supports, which is bell shaped. Moreover, on increasing the rotating speed, the backward frequencies increases and forward frequencies decreases.

  • This paper represents the numerical analysis on effects of radius ratio in a concentric annulus with a rotating inner cylinder. The numerical model consisted of two cylinder which inner cylinder is rotating and outer cylinder is fix, and the axial direction is used the cyclic condition because of the length for axial direction is assumed infinite. The diameter of inner cylinder is assumed 86.8mm, the numerical parameters are angular velocity and radius ratio. Also, the whole walls of numerical model have no-slip and the working fluid is used water at $20^{\circ}C$. The numerical analysis is assumed the transient state to observe the flow variations by time and the 3-D cylindrical coordinate system. The calculation grid adopted a non-constant grid for dense arrangement near the wall side of cylinder, the standard $k-{\omega}$ high Reynolds number model to consider the effect of turbulence flow and wall, the fully implicit method for time term and the quick scheme for momentum equation. The numerical method is compared with the experimental results by Wereley and Lueptow, and the results are very good agreement. As the results, TVF isn't appeared when Re is small because of the initial flow instability is disappear by effect of the centrifugal force and viscosity. The vortex size is from 0.8 to 1.1 for TVF at various $\eta$, and the traveling distance for wavy vortex have the critical traveling distance for each case.

  • The problem ofinstability of laminated circular cylindrical shell under the action of torsio or lateral pressure is investigated. The analysis is based on the Sander's theory for finite deformations of thin shell. The buckling is elastic for thin compoisite shell nad the geometry is assumed to be free of initial imperfections. The equilibrium equations are obrained by usitn the p[erturbation technique. Solution procedure is based on the Galerkin mehtod. The computer program for numerical results is made for several stacking sequence, length-to-radius ratio, and radius-to-thickness ratio. The numerical results of buckling load are present.
