The purpose of this study was to analyze the 45 measuring items for the clothing construction in order to observe the factorial structure of items and to extract the common factor and the special unique factor from data. The sample for the study was drawn randomly out of senior high schoolgirls in Seoul urban area. The size of sample was 301 girls between age 16 and 18. The method of analysis was applied by the principal component analysis with orthogonal rotation after extraction of 9 major factors. All of the above data was analyzed by the computer installed at Seoul National University. From these analyses, the major findings can be summerized as follows: 1. The results of factor analysis generally indicated that the first factor was clustered with 15 items, length measures and height measures. The eigenvalue of the first factor was 16.5 and the cumulative percentage of variables 36.6%. 2. The second factor was clustered with width measures, girth measures and weight of 19 items. The eigenvalue of the second factor was 6.5 and the cumulative percentage of variables 51.0%.

Some switching properties of multivariate control charts are investigated when the interval between two consecutive sample selections is not fixed but changes according to the result of the previous sample observation. Many articles showed that the performances of variable sampling interval control charts are more efficient than those of fixed sampling interval control charts in terms of average run length (ARL) and average time to signal (ATS). Unfortunately, the ARL and the ATS do not provide any information on how frequent a switch is being made. We evaluate several switching properties of two sampling interval Shewhart and CUSUM procedures for controlling mean vector of correlated quality variables.
The new high temperature plasma source for spectrochemical analysis has been developed and characterized. In the development of new high temperature plasma sources for atomic emission spectrocopy, optimization of experimental variables is necessary to achieve the best analytical results. By means of a modified sequential simplex optimization method, six experimental variables were optimized. The line-to-background (L/B) ratio for Ca(II) at 393.37 nm was used as measure of the response function. The optimal experimental conditions were found to be at a current of 27.8 A, a plasma length of 28.8 mm, a sample uptake rate of 1.3 ml/min, a sample carrier gas flow rate of 0.7 ml/min, a plasma gas flow rate of 4.9 l/min, and an observation height of 6.4 mm above the top quartz tube.
Soft materials, such as polymer solutions, gels and filamentous protein materials in cells, show complicated behavior due to their complex structures and dynamics with multiple characteristic time and length scales. Several complementary techniques have been developed to measure viscoelastic of soft materials. Especially, particle tracking microrheology, using the Brownian motion of particles in a medium to get rheological properties, has recently been improved both theoretically and experimentally. Compared to other conventional methods, video particle tracking microrheology has some advantages such as small sample volume, detecting spatial variation of local rheological properties, and less damage to sample materials. With these advantages, microrheology is more suitable to measure the properties of complex materials than other mechanical rheometries.
In oder to compare and measure bond strength of ceramometal system with use of ceramco porcelain powder including SnO2 and uni metal, Rexillium III, Vera Bond as non precious alloys manufactured for porecelain-metal restorations. Total 24 test sample were constructed. All Test sample were measured with a Mitutoyo micrometer graduated to 0.01mm. It is as follows measured of thickness 3.3mm(metal : 1.1mm, porcelain: 2.2mm), width 12mm, length 30mm(porcelain 12mm x 12mm), Compared maximum bending stress test. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Bond strength of each metal with ceramco porcelain powder showed statistical significance.(P<0.05) 2. Vera Bond and uni metal, uni metal and Rexillium III revealed no statistical Significance.(P>0.05) Vera Bond and Rexillium III showed statistical significance.(P<0.05) 3. The order of maximum bending stress was Rexillium III, uni metal, vera Bond. The order of bond strength ratio making bending stress was Vera bond, uni metal, Rexillium III.
In this paper, we present effective methods for music summarization which summarize music automatically. It could be used for sample music of on-line digital music provider or some music retrieval technology. When summarizing music, we use different two methods according to music length. First method is for finding sabi or chorus part of music which can be regarded as the most important part of music and the second method is for extracting several parts which are in different structure or have different mood in the music. Our proposed music summarization system is better than conventional system when structure of target music is explicit. The proposed method could generate just one important segment of music or several segments which have different mood in the music. Thus, this scheme will be effective for summarizing music in several applications such as online music streaming service and sample music for Tcommerce.
We designed a large bore superconducting solenoid as a source of magnetic field inside liquid-nitrogen-jacketed liquid helium dewar. The diameter of the sample space in the dewar is about 10.0 cm. Considering the space for thermal insulation between liquid helium and the sample tube, the solenoid bobbin has been designed to be 12.0 cm and the most inner layer of the solenoid 13.0 cm. The desired uniformity of the field, which is ~ $\pm$0.1% of the central field amplitude deviation within ~5.0$^2$$\times$3.6 ㎤ with the shortest dimension along the solenoidal axis, restricted the length of the solenoid to be at least 41.14 cm.
Ameliorating effects of dolomite and sludge on the polluted soil sampled from Ulsan and yeocheon Industrial Complexes were investigated. Ameliorating effects were analysed by changes of soil properties and plant growth after treatment of dolomite and sludge. Soil properties were investigated by analysing organic matter, N, P, K, Ca and Mg contents and pH. Growth of sample plants was investigated by leaf area calculated from length and breadth of leaves and by biomass from diameter and height of sample plants. Quercus serrata and Celtis sinensis selected as tolerant plants in field survey were used as experimental plants. Treatment with dolomite showed ameliorating effects by increassing n, Ca, and Mg com\ntents, and pH of soil and by decreasing Al content. Treatment of sludge showed similar effects by increasing N, Ca, Mg and organic matter contents, and by decreasing A1 content. But treatment of sludge did not show any effect on pH. Both soil ameliorators showed accelerating effects on the growth of experimental plants in Ulsan soil. But those effects in Yeocheon soil were somewhat different. Treatment of sludge showed accelerating effects of the growth of both sample plants but dolomitic liming did not so. From those results, we confirmed availability of sludge, a kind of industrial waste, as one of ameliorators of the polluted soil. In addition, we recognized that soil properties had to be considered to select soil ameliorators suitable for restoration of degraded ecosystems.

The purpose of this study is to identify differences based on demographic characteristics and travel-related characteristics: first, whether travelers used a domestic travel agency and second whether travelers purchased a full-package travel program. A sample selection probit model was used to provide simultaneous evaluation of the different characteristics of outbound travelers. The present study investigates how tourists make decisions based on two travel-pattern choices. It then goes on to explore the characteristics of outbound travelers from South Korea. The data is drawn from a nationwide survey in South Korea, and a total of 859 surveys were used for analysis. Due to the interdependent nature of the choices, a sample selection probit model was used to estimate outbound tourists' use of domestic travel agency and purchase of full travel package. Significant determinants of domestic travel agency use are identified as age, gender, marital status, party size, children, length of travel, and travel distance, while those of full travel package purchase are age, marital status, and travel purpose. Estimated results provide manifestations of differing travel needs of outbound travelers. the results of this study demonstrate differences between travel-agency users and full-package travel-program consumers and provide determinants that affect the purchase of full-package travel.
The convenience of TV home shopping is known to provoke compulsive buying, which is chronic and repetitive purchasing behavior that comes about as a response to negative events or feelings. The purpose of this study was to identify whether there is a difference in the degree of compulsive buying between the purchasers of fashion goods and the purchasers of non-fashion goods on TV home shopping shows and the determinants of compulsive buying and their relative importance. Utilizing the convenient sampling method, the sample of the study was composed of women aged over 20 living in the Seoul metropolitan area. Out of 380 distributed questionnaires, 270 useful questionnaires were returned. The data were analyzed using t-test, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression. The results indicated that TV home shoppers who purchased fashion goods showed higher degree of compulsive buying than those who purchased non-fashion goods and the determinants of compulsive buying are sample's age, mean age of the sample's children, credit usage, expenditure on fashion goods, frequency of purchase of fashion goods on TV home shopping shows, and promotional tools used by TV home shopping retailers. Regarding the relative importance of the determinants, credit usage was the most influential factor followed by expenditure on fashion goods and the length of exposure to TV home shopping shows.
