A Study on the Sandbar and Vegetation Area Alteration at the Downstream of Dam (댐 하류하천의 사주와 식생 면적 변화에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, area variation, index and degree of alteration, temporal variation of the sandbar and vegetation were analyzed using aerial photographs during the pre and post dam construction at the downstream of dam. Analysis result of the sandbar area was decreased 17 %. Sandbar area was 38 % of the channel areas at the pre dam, but 21 % at the post dam. Alteration indies of the sandbar were $-0.9921{\sim}2.9528$. Analysis result of the vegetation area was increased 13 %. Vegetation area was 11 % of the channel areas at the pre dam, but 24 % at the post dam. Alteration indies of the vegetation were $-0.8908{\sim}12.0736$. Temporal variation of the sandbar and vegetation were analyized at the An Dong dam, Im Ha dam, Hap Chun dam. Analysis result of the sandbar was decreased $42,600m^2$ per year, but vegetation was increased $51,700m^2$ per year. Sandbar area was decreasing more fast than vegetation area increasing.

  • Development Charge System was introduced in 1989 to recapture development gains, however, it has been revised more than 20 times since then. The reason for such frequent revisions was that estimating development cost was too composite and indefinite. Therefore it is required that estimating method of development cost should be simplified in order to minimize conflicts among diverse parties. To support the recent revision of 'Restitution and Development Gains Act', this study verified several alternatives of applying standardized costs per area under specific size of development and suggested policy implications. For analysis data, 9,362 Development Charge and cost data of si gun gu for recent 3 years were used. The results showed that dividing Seoul Metropolitan Area (SMA) and non-SMA made a significant difference and definite divisions among regional groups. The result of this study could minimize social conflicts as well as contribute in realizing the public concept of land policy by revising Development Charge System.

  • With the passing of Special Act on Promotion and Support for Urban Regeneration (will be hereafter referred to as the Urban Regeneration Special Act) in December 2013, urban regeneration projects have begun in full scale. 13 regions including Jongno District, Seoul were selected as the urban regeneration leading area in 2014 and 33 regions as urban regeneration general regions in 2015 to push ahead a nationwide urban regeneration front supported by government funds. However, it is not clear if these urban regeneration projects will be revitalized by the sole means of government's financial support. Above all, cooperation among all interested parties including the central government that is propelling urban regeneration, local governments, state corporations, private entities, and citizens is urgent. In an urban regeneration project, delegation between state and private entities is absolutely crucial. The central government and the pertinent local government must provide their support by forming new policies and repairing old institutions that are right for urban regeneration, securing the necessary subsidy, and outsourcing government-owned land development. A state corporation must play its part in every aspect that requires public character such as an overall project management of an urban regeneration project, cooperation with the local government, and infrastructure installation. The private stakeholder must share his private capital and know-hows as a construction investor and a development businessman to make possible a successful urban regeneration project. In order for these public and private entities to cooperate with one another, it is necessary to reestablish the role of a public developer and contemplate running an urban regeneration project that permeates public character through a public developer.

Depression Factors of Adult Women in a Marine City (일 해양도시 성인여성의 우울영향요인)

  • This study was attempted to provide basic data for health promotion program for depressive relief by grasping the degree of depression of adult women and grasping the factors affecting depression. Data were collected using structured questionnaire for 249 adult women in the one marine city and analyzed through technical statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis. According to the study, 76.3 percent (190 people) of women in the city were depressed. The subjects who expressed depression showed negative correlations with social support, self-respect and subjective euphoria and between depression and stress as positive correlation. The result of multiple regression analyses to identify the effects of depression have shown that stress is a major influencing factor, and this model has a 21.1% explanatory power. Therefore, the study found stress as a significant factor in the depression of adult women, it is necessary to develop and apply health promotion programs that can reduce stress in order to reduce depression in adult women.

The Effects of Balloon Blow-ups and Upper Abdominal Exercise on Respiratory Rehabilitation (풍선불기와 상복부운동이 호흡재활에 미치는 영향)

  • Background : Pulmonary rehabilitation, called pulmonary rehab or PR, is a broad program that helps improve the well-being of people who have chronic (ongoing) breathing problems. Purpose : The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the effects of the upper abdominal exercise and balloon blow-up on the abdominal muscle strength and Respiratory ability for 20's adults. Method : Recruited Subjects were healthy students attending H university. Twenty-one subjects who agreed to participate in this study were randomly assigned to 3 groups; I group applied upper abdominal exercise, IIgroup applied balloon blow-up, III group applied both upper abdominal exercises and balloon blow-ups. Upper abdominal muscle exercises was applied supine position and $30^{\circ}{\sim}40^{\circ}$ in the upper body lift braced for about 3 seconds, and balloon blow-ups was performed 10 times a day. The exercise programs were performed three times a week for 5 weeks. Results: After 5 weeks of exercises, all three groups were comparable with abdominal muscle strength and respiratory ability. Subjects in upper abdominal exercise group, balloon blow-ups group, and upper abdominal exercises and balloon blow-ups group had significantly increased the average of abdominal muscle strength(p<.05) The statistical comparison among the groups indicated that there was a signigicant increase in respiratory ability. In comparison of abdominal muscle strength and respiratory ability, there were no significant differences among 3 groups. Conclusions: These findings suggest that upper abdominal exercises and balloon blow-ups may have a significant impact in abdominal muscle strength and respiratory ability.

Comparison of Related Influencing Factors on Medical Services Satisfaction between General Dental Patients and Orthodontic Patients (치과 교정치료환자와 일반치료환자의 의료서비스 만족도 관련요인)

  • This study was carried out to examine comparison of relating influencing factors on medical service satisfaction between general dental patients and orthodontic patients and to improve quality of the medical services by the treatment type of the visit. The data were collected from 421 patients who visited dental clinics and hospitals in Daegu and Gyeongbuk region, using self-administered questionnaire for the period from Sep 1 to Sep 30, 2015. The multiple regression showed that the medical staff and medical fee were common statistically significant independent variables to influence service satisfaction in both groups, however, fear in the treatment was added to statistically significant variables in only the orthodontic patients. Therefore, based on the provision of high - quality medical services and adequate medical care for patients' satisfaction, comprehensive plans including tailor-made counseling management and reducing the fear of dental treatment for general dental patients should be needed.

  • This study is about , which constitutes Honcheonui(an armillary sphere) put of $\ulcorner$Uigijipseol$\lrcorner$ (Volume I) together with and -dealt with earlier than this subject. The study's construction on the text of is organized into 15 categories, including installation, observations, instructions for use, astronomical theories and formulas, etc. This study provides easy-to-understand illustrations of the figures shown in the original and contains detailed descriptions of the related calculation procedures. Structure and Conceptual Design of a Water-Hammering-Type Honsang for Restoration

  • We analyzed the manufacturing procedure, specifications, repair history, and details of celestial movements of the water-hammering type $Honsang$ (celestial globe). Results from our study on the remaining $Honsangs$ in China and Japan and on the reconstruction models in Korea were applied to our conceptual design of the water-hammering type $Honsang$. A $Honui$ (armillary sphere) and $Honsang$ using the water-hammering method were manufactured in $Joseon$ in 1435 (the 17th year of King $Sejong$). $Jang$ $Yeong-Sil$ developed the $Honsang$ system based on the water-operation method of $Shui$ $y{\ddot{u}}n$ $i$ $hsiang$ $t'ai$ in China. Water-operation means driving water wheels using a water flow. The most important factor in this type of operation is the precision of the water clock and the control of the water wheel movement. The water-hammering type $Honsang$ in $Joseon$ probably adopted the $Cheonhyeong$ (天衡; oriental escapement device) system of $Shui$ $y{\ddot{u}}n$ $i$ $hsiang$ $t'ai$ in China and the overflow mechanism of $Jagyeongnu$ (striking clepsydra) in $Joseon$, etc. In addition to the $Cheonryun$ system, more gear instruments were needed to stage the rotation of the $Honsang$ globe and the sun's movement. In this study, the water-hammering mechanism is analyzed in the structure of a water clock, a water wheel, the $Cheonhyeong$ system, and the $Giryun$ system, as an organically working operation mechanism. We expect that this study will serve as an essential basis for studies on $Heumgyeonggaknu$, the water-operating astronomical clock, and other astronomical clocks in the middle and latter parts of the $Joseon$ dynasty.

견우성은 어느 별인가?

  • 견우와 직녀의 사랑 이야기가 얽혀 있는 두 별은 여름철을 대표하는 별들로서 중국 문화권에서는 지난 수 천 년 동안 매우 인기가 높은 별이었다. 두 별은 중국의 춘추전국시대의 노래를 모아 놓은 시경(詩經)에 이미 등장하고 있고, 서기 408년에 조성된 고구려의 덕흥리 고분 속에 있는 벽화에도 그려져 있다. 고려시대에는 이 별들에 대한 국가적인 제사를 지냈으며, 조선 시대에는 칠월칠석에 국왕이 신하들과 어울려 잔치를 베풀고 칠석시(七夕詩)를 지어서 책으로 편찬하는 일도 있었다. 한편 견우성은 주로 농사와 관계된 별점을 가지고 있었고, 시각제도와 긴밀한 관계가 있는 28宿(수)의 하나였으므로 천문학자들이 지속적으로 관심을 갖고 관측한 별이다. 그러한 관측의 결과는 고려사, 조선왕조실록, 승정원일기 등에 다수가 남아 있다. 그런데 동양 천문학에서 이미 널리 다루어졌던 문제 가운데 하나는, 바로 이 문학적 견우성과 천문학적 견우성이 일치하지 않는다는 것이다. 지금 일반 시민들에게 견우성은 독수리자리의 알테어(Altair)로 알려져 있다. 그러나 모든 사서와 고대 천문서 및 천문도가 지칭하는 견우성은 염소자리의 다비(Dabih)라는 별이다. 견우성이 28宿(수)의 하나라는 사실은 그 별(별자리)이 황도와 백도 근처에 있어야 함을 의미한다. 따라서 알테어는 적위가 높아서 도저히 28宿(수)에 속할 수가 없다. 게다가 알테어는 은하수 속에 들어가 있으므로, 견우와 직녀가 은하수를 사이에 두고 마주보고 있다는 일반적인 설화와도 어긋난다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 현재 대다수의 서적과 매체, 그리고 일반인을 대상으로 한 행사와 천문관에서 상영되는 프로그램들에는 모두 알테어를 견우성으로 하여 설명하고 있다. 이러한 불일치는 상당한 혼란을 초래하고 있는 상황이다. 이 연구에서는 이러한 불일치가 천문학적인 견우성과 인문학적인 견우성의 불일치로 보고, 이 문제를 실증적으로 접근해 본다. 즉, 고려사, 조선왕조실록, 승정원일기에 실려 있는 견우성 엄폐 관측 기록을 조사하여 한국사에서 전문 천문학자들은 어느 별을 견우성이라고 보아왔는지 알아보고, 또한 일반인들이 지은 시문에는 어떤 별을 견우성으로 여겼는지 고찰한다. 아울러 역사적으로 이 문제에 대한 선인들의 생각을 짚어보고, 중국과 일본의 학자들은 이 문제를 어떻게 바라보고 있는지를 살핀 다음, 마지막으로 현실적으로 이 문제를 어떻게 해결할 수 있는지 고찰해 본다.

Transcriptome Profiling and In Silico Analysis of the Antimicrobial Peptides of the Grasshopper Oxya chinensis sinuosa

  • Antimicrobial peptides/proteins (AMPs) are present in all types of organisms, from microbes and plants to vertebrates and invertebrates such as insects. The grasshopper Oxya chinensis sinuosa is an insect species that is widely consumed around the world for its broad medicinal value. However, the lack of available genetic information for this species is an obstacle to understanding the full potential of its AMPs. Analysis of the O. chinensis sinuosa transcriptome and expression profile is essential for extending the available genetic information resources. In this study, we determined the whole-body transcriptome of O. chinensis sinuosa and analyzed the potential AMPs induced by bacterial immunization. A high-throughput RNA-Seq approach generated 94,348 contigs and 66,555 unigenes. Of these unigenes, 36,032 (54.14%) matched known proteins in the NCBI database in a BLAST search. Functional analysis demonstrated that 38,219 unigenes were clustered into 5,499 gene ontology terms. In addition, 26 cDNAs encoding novel AMPs were identified by an in silico approach using public databases. Our transcriptome dataset and AMP profile greatly improve our understanding of O. chinensis sinuosa genetics and provide a huge number of gene sequences for further study, including genes of known importance and genes of unknown function.
