This paper deals with the ways that can improve the reliability of the course evaluation system based on reformation of the system and design of user interface for the practical applications. In the reformation of the system aspect, there are the improvements of the course evaluation questionnaires and the feedback of course evaluation to the lecturers. In the design aspect, a computer screen of the graphic user interface is redesigned to reflect the reformation of the system aspect issues. The results show the effectiveness in the reliability improvement.

This study is the second study which was aimed to validate the Infant/ Toddler Environment Rating Scale(ITERS). The test-retest reliability included 10 infant/toddler classes among 30 national/public and private child care centers in Inchon city which had been observed in the first validation study. The Spearman's correlation coefficient for test-retest reliability was ranged from .52 to .84. In addition, two raters observed 10 family day care centers in Inchon city, where two observers independently rated each centers on the ITERS during a single visit. The Spearman's correlation coefficient for interrater reliability was ranged from.72 to .99 For the second measure of content validity, experts who were working in day care centers and who were graduate students, lecturers, or professors majoring child studies rated the appropriateness of each ITERS items for the provision of high-quality programs for infants and toddlers, using a 1(low) to 5(high) scale. The mean rating was ranged from 2.52 to 4.52. In sum, when the rating scores were analyzed by the type of child care centers, national/public child care centers have better quality than private or family child care centers.

With the increasing demand of foreign language education in colleges, an effective testing and study system is also needed especially for large scale classes. In this paper, 1 propose a new online system for running large scale foreign language classes which supports not only testing function but also individually customized studying and diagnosis functions. Using the proposed system enables saving of testing space and helps all students get equally good testing and study environment regardless of class size and lecturers.

Action learning motivates students to solve open-ended problems by 'developing skills through doing'. This paper reviews the concept of action learning and discusses the adoption of action learning approach to teach operations management at universities. It presents the design and delivery of an action-learning course at City University of Hong Kong. The course incorporates classroom lectures, tutorials and an action-learning workshop. The experience gained proves that action learning facilitates student participation and teamwork and provides a venue of accelerating learning where enables students to handle dynamic problem situations more effectively. The paper concludes that adopting action-learning approach can help lecturers to enhance quality teaching in operations management courses, and provide an alternate means of effective paradigm other than traditional classroom teaching and/or computer-based training at universities.

This paper examines the academic basis, current status, and future directions of liberal education for engineers as consilience education. After paying attention to the lists of liberal education for engineers including history of technology, technology and society, engineering ethics, economics of technology, management of technology, and technology policy, I found the academic basis of liberal education for engineers in science and technology studies or innovation studies. And then I monitored how liberal education for engineers is managed focusing on the case of Pusan National University and introduced new attempts on liberal education for engineers in other universities in Korea. Lastly, the future directions for the development of liberal education for engineers were suggested such as the strengthening of lecturers' expertise, the reconstruction of engineering education course, and the promotion of relevant academic associations' cooperation.

This study examined the effects of the Empowering Parents Training(EPT) program with emphasis on mother's parental satisfaction and communication skills and children's self-esteem and social competence. Subjects were 73 mothers and their 4th to 6th grade children in elementary schools in Seoul and Kyonggi-do. Thirty-seven mother-child dyads were assigned to the education group and 36 dyads were assigned to the comparison group. Mothers in the education group received EPT in 7 sessions. Statistical methods adopted for data analyses were ANCOVA and Scheffe test. EPT had a positive effect on enhancing mothers' parental satisfaction and communication skills. EPT had some positive influence on children's self-esteem and social competence. The executive model of EPT used in this study was considered effective by the parents and lecturers.

The proposed authoring tool with user's friendly interface provides to author multimedia animation lectures which can support the efficient environments of cyber educations. Coping with difficulties of merging and editing of each multimedia data provided to convert from multimedia generation properties to SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Language) files. The tool also helps lecturers to author the animation lectures easily. Futhermore, it can be easily transferred from multimedia contents to web page.

The purpose of this research is to identify the overall operation status of the marine program, which operates in the Department attempted, in various qualities and operational programs consisting of lecturers derives the problem, and to the policy proposal accordingly. Construction safety should be considered prior to any other factors to execute construction projects smoothly and reduce the social expenses. Especially, the safety education is very important to the lives of labors and to control the four resources such as time, money, quality and safety. On this research, the present situation and related regulations of safety education are reviewed and the education contents and realities of the safety empirical education places are surveyed. Also questionnaire to education lecturers is performed to understand the satisfaction level of the education programs of the education places. Finally, the improvement directions are suggested to inspire trainees based on the results of the research.

The authors have developed a reading & writing textbook for engineering students to improve their communication capability, and also analyzed the outcomes that the students accomplished through the Engineering Reading and Writing class. The reading & writing textbook has been organized to be used as a guidebook with which the engineering students can practically solve the problems that they would face continuously after they finish their regular curriculum and when they are employed. The questionnaire survey analysis has been performed in order to evaluate the textbook contents, lecturing, and learning outcomes for the lecturers and students finished the engineering reading and writing classes. Desirable evaluation has been resulted in the broad areas: subject extraction from the readings, logical understanding, summarizing, practical writing, writing principle, etc.
