육아휴직 후 직장에 복귀한 간호사의 적응과정 (Adaptation Process of Nurses Who Return to Work after Parental Leave)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to generate a grounded substantive theory of the adaptation process of nurses who return to work after taking parental leave. Methods: Individual in-depth interviews with 13 participants were conducted between June and September 2014. Participants were interviewed 1~3 times; interviews were continued until the data became saturated. Data were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory method. Results: The core category of experience of the process of adaptation as a nurse who returned to work after parental leave was 'trying to regain one's previous position'. Participants used five interactional strategies: 'preparing in advance', 'initiating relationships with colleagues', 'keeping a positive attitude', 'understanding parenting helpers', 'Taking burden off one's mind'. Conclusion: The results of this study provide a theoretical basis for the adaptation process of nurses returning to work after taking parental leave. The importance of improving nurses' attitudes to their co-workers who take parental leave is highlighted along with the necessity of providing a family-friendly work environment. These results can be used to develop supportive policies and programs for nurses who return to their work after parental leave.

Formas y Funciones Fáticas de Los Rituales de Saludo y Despedida en el Contexto Médico

  • One way for phatic communication to be linguistically realized involves ritual activities, such as greetings and leave-takings. These conventionalized acts in medical contexts can significantly influence both transactional and interpersonal goals. The analysis in this paper confirms that exchanging rituals such as greeting and leave-taking between doctors and patients is not a simple exchange of conventionalized linguistic symbols. In addition, the use of discursive strategies means that to determine whether an expression is phatic or not, it is necessary to analyze it from the multidimensional perspective. The phaticity is established based on the negotiation between the participants during the interaction. We have found that the interrogative form of greeting like "¿Qué tal?" (How are you?) becomes a versatile resource in the medical context. Thus, professionals need to be attentive to the discourse progress, because the phaticity of the interrogative greetings (illocutionary force) is linked, in the vast majority, with the reaction of the patients. Also, the data confirms that when participants coordinate closings, the exchange of turns lengthens and the intervention of various discursive strategies for phatic communion becomes more prominent.

육아휴직을 경험한 아버지의 부모역할 전환에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Transition of the Parental Role of Fathers Who Experienced Parental Leave)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to explore the parental role that men experience during parental leave. From the moment when a man decides to take parental leave, to his experiences during parental leave, and to the father's role that lasts until after reinstatement, this course will be examined. Methods: The subjects of this study were five fathers who were taking parental leave. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews done on Zoom, telephone calls and e-mail. Results: The results are as follows. First, the motive for the father's decision to take parental leave was that he wanted to take a break from work and to spend time with his children. Second, the father had experiences of a caregiver and secure-base for his ones. Also, he experienced intergenerational transmission of his parental role. Third, the father's role was maintained even after parental leave. Conclusion/Implications: The decision to take parental leave was a process of conformation of one's own decision. The parental role of the father was experienced through daily life and interaction with his children. And that continued even after parental leave.

육아휴직 후 퇴사한 여성의 퇴사과정과 유형에 관한 탐색적 연구 : 여성의 일-가정 양립을 방해하는 배경을 중심으로 (Study on the resignation backgrounds of female workers leaving work after parental leave)

  • 본 연구는 육아휴직을 사용했음에도 퇴사를 하게 된 여성들의 퇴사과정을 살펴봄으로써, 퇴사여성들의 일터와 가정의 어떤 배경들이 육아휴직제도의 정책시나리오를 거슬러 이들의 일-가정 양립을 방해하는 힘으로 작용했는지를 짚어보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 육아휴직제도는 여성이 출산 육아로 노동시장을 떠나게 되는 현상을 막기 위한 대표적인 일-가정 양립 정책이다. 그러나 육아휴직을 이용한 후에도 일과 가정을 병행하지 못하고 결국 퇴사하게 되는 사례들이 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 육아휴직제도의 본질적 목표가 여성노동자의 노동시장 복귀이니만큼, 정책목표를 온전히 달성하기 위해서는 육아휴직 사용 이후에 퇴사에 이르게 된 경위에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 육아휴직 사용 이전부터 퇴사를 계획했던 여성 4명(A집단)과 육아휴직 사용 이전에는 일-가정 양립을 위해 직장복귀를 원했지만 결국 퇴사를 하게 된 여성 4명(B집단)의 사례를 중심으로 이들의 퇴사과정을 분석했다. 나아가 이들의 퇴사원인이 일과 가정 중 주로 어디에서 기인하고 있는지를 중심으로 A집단을 직장회피형과 가정순응형, B집단을 직장희생형과 가정선택형으로 세분화해보았다. 이를 통해 여성에게 비친화적인 노동시장의 근무여건과 고착화된 성별분업이 여성노동자들이 육아휴직 전부터 퇴사를 결심하게 되는 주요배경이 되고 있으며, 육아휴직 사용자에 대한 직장의 부당처우와 육아휴직 중 재발견하게 된 모성애가 육아휴직 이후에 여성노동자들이 퇴사를 선택하게 되는 힘으로 작용하고 있음을 발견할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 결론에서는 여성 노동자들을 직장에서 밀어내고 가정으로 끌어당기는 위와 같은 힘들을 완화시키고 일-가정 균형을 이루기 위해서는 어떤 대책들이 보완되어야 하는지에 대해 논의해보았다.

Work Reentry After Childbirth: Predictors of Self-Rated Health in Month One Among a Sample of University Faculty and Staff

  • Background: Childbirth represents a significant transition for women, with physical and psychological sequelae. Reentry to the workplace during the postpartum period is understudied, with implications for maternal well-being and job-related outcomes. This study's aim was to examine selected pregnancy, childbirth, and return-to-work correlates of overall self-rated health within the first month of work reentry after maternity leave. Methods: Between December 2016 and January 2017, we surveyed women employed at a large, public Midwestern university who had given birth in the past five years (N = 249) to examine self-rated overall health in the first month of work reentry. Using ordinal logistic regression, we examined whether physical or psychological health problems during pregnancy, childbirth complications, length of maternity leave, and depression and anxiety at work reentry were related to overall health. Results: Women who experienced depression (odds ratio [OR] = 0.096 [95% confidence interval {CI} = 0.019 to 0.483, p = 0.004]) and anxiety (OR = 0.164, [95% CI = 0.042 to 0.635, p = 0.009]) nearly every day reported worse health at work reentry than those with no symptoms. Controlling for demographics and mental health, women who experienced medical problems during pregnancy (OR = 0.540 [95% CI = 0.311 to .935, p = 0.028]) were more likely to report poor health, while taking a longer maternity leave (OR = 14.552 [95% CI = 4.934 to 42.918, p < 0.001]) was associated with reporting better health at work reentry. Conclusion: Women who experience medical complications during pregnancy, return to the workplace too soon after birth, and experience mental health symptoms are vulnerable physically as they return to work.

Predictors of Cognitive Improvement during 12 Weeks of Antidepressant Treatment in Patients with Major Depressive Disorder

  • Objective: Cognitive disturbance is one of the major symptoms of depression and may be improved by treatment with antidepressants. This study aimed to investigate the predictors of cognitive improvement in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) who were taking antidepressants. Methods: This study included 86 patients with MDD who completed 12 weeks of antidepressant monotherapy. Cognitive symptoms were assessed using the Perceived Deficits Questionnaire-Korean version (PDQ-K), which addresses four domains of cognitive functioning (attention/concentration, retrospective memory, prospective memory, and organization/planning) and was administered at study entry and at the 12-week end point. A variety of demographic, clinical, and treatment-related variables were evaluated as predictors of changes in total and domain scores. Results: All PDQ-K domains showed significant improvement after 12 weeks of antidepressant treatment. More severe initial depressive symptoms, fewer sick-leave days at study entry, and reduced use of concomitant anxiolytics/hypnotics during treatment were significantly associated with greater cognitive improvement. Conclusion: Cognitive symptoms are more responsive to antidepressant treatment in patients with severe MDD. Reduced use of anxiolytics and hypnotics could improve the cognitive functioning of patients with MDD taking antidepressants.

  • After DAEGUE disaster, there are a lot of studying is focus on the safety of fire in korea. and Now there are taking place the modification of Urban Railway vehicle over the country. It is usually about the ability of fire resistance. But most of victims of this fire disaste in train on underground railway platform are because they could not leave the train in time and were trapped by hot gases. This study will investigate the plan of guide and evacuation plan of DAEGUE modification project and It will be compared with Madrid 8000 series metro's. and looking for reasonable and practical solution for Urban railway vehicle in Korea.

  • The travellers using social media leave their location history in the form of trajectories. These trajectories can be bridged for acquiring information, required for future recommendation for the future travelers, who are new to that location, providing all sort of information. In this paper, we propose a personalized travel path recommendation scheme based on social life log. By taking advantage of two kinds of social media such as travelogue and community contributed photos, the proposed scheme can not only be personalized to user's travel interest but also be able to recommend a travel path rather than individual Points of Interest (POIs). It also maps both user's and routes' textual descriptions to the topical package space to get user topical package model and route topical package model (i.e., topical interest, cost, time and season).

The Effect of Occupational Moral Injury on Career Abandonment Intention Among Physicians in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic

  • Background: Since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, physicians have been the unsung heroes of the pandemic. However, many are about to give up the battlefield. This study investigated the effect of occupational moral injury on physicians' career abandonment intention, taking into account the possible mediating role of emotional exhaustion. Methods: Cross-sectional data collected from 201 physicians were analyzed using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS to determine the relationship among physicians' moral injuries, emotional exhaustion, and career abandonment intention. Results: The results indicated that occupational moral injury was positively related to emotional exhaustion and career abandonment intention. In addition, emotional exhaustion was found to play a mediating role in the relationship. Conclusion: To reduce physicians' intention to leave their career, physicians should be prepared for moral injury and psychological issues by offering psychological support and meeting their needs early at both the individual and organizational levels during and after the pandemic.

  • 오래 전부터 지속적으로 제기된 기후변화에 의한 문제들은 전 세계적인 문제점으로 언급되고 있다. 이러한 환경적 위기에 처한 각 나라들의 대처방법 중에 하나는 친환경적이고 지속가능한 발전 설비를 마련하기 위한 노력과 연구를 진행하고 있다는 것이다. 그중에서 풍력을 이용한 발전은 해외 선진국에서 오래 전부터 개발되어 발전해 오고 있고 우리나라 역시 최근에 풍력 발전에 관심을 갖고 기술개발에 노력을 기울이고 있다. 이러한 실정에서 우리나라 지역의 풍력에 대한 분석 및 예측은 천연자원의 적절한 이용이라는 관점에서 매우 중요한 연구라고 할 수 있겠다. 본 논문에서는 기상청에서 제공하는 풍속 측정 자료로 선형회귀모형에 근간을 둔 추정방법을 이용하여 주요도서지역을 제외한 남한지역의 공간적 특성을 파악할 수 있는 적절한 모형을 찾고 각 모형의 비교를 실시하였다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 남한지역의 풍속 예측지도를 구성하였다.
