A saturation of magnetic flux in the core may occur when a large primary current flows when the iron-cored current transformer is used. This saturation makes the distorted secondary current of the CT. the distorted secondary current may cause the mal-operation or operation time delay of protective relays. CT compensation algorithm using The LSQ(Least Square) fitting method has a problem. It needs to acquire enough data for executing this algorithm without an error. In this paper, an enhanced algorithm using interpolation based LSQ(Least Square) Fitting Method is proposed. The Lagrange Interpolation Method is used for the interpolation and CT is simulated by EMTP. The results show that the proposed algorithm can accurately compensate a distorted secondary current more than existing Algorithm when the saturation severely occurs.
In this study, we proposes the method to improve the quality of the image through the edge extraction more delicately. Our method is named ESII(Edge Sensitive Image Interpolation) and doesn't use the fixed parameter of the interpolation kernel. However, it changes the parameter of pixel which is interpolated to the high definition image using the proper information from the surrounding pixels. It reconstructs the image by using the LSE(Least Square Error) and determining the pixel values to make the CME(Camera Modelling Error) minimized. Compared to the conventional methods, suggested method shows the higher quality of subjective and objective image definition and lessons the computational complexity by separating the image into 1-D data.

This paper presents a new circular curve fitting approach of articulated manipulators, based on least square. The approach aims at gaining the interpolation of circle from n data points, under the condition that the fitted circle should pass both a starting point and an ending point. First a spherical fitting should be performed, using least squares. Then the circular curve fitting can be resulted from the intersection of the fitted sphere and the plane obtained from 3 points, i. e., a starting point, an ending point and the center of a sphere. The proposed algorithms are shown to be efficient by using MATLAB-based simulation.

Kriging interpolation is one of the generally used interpolation techniques in Geostatistics field. This technique includes the experimental and theoretical variograms and the formulation of kriging interpolation. In contrast to the conventional least square method for stress recovery, kriging interpolation is based on the weighted least square method to obtain the estimated exact solution from the stress data at the Gauss points. The weight factor is determined by variogram modeling for interpolation of stress data apart from the conventional interpolation methods that use an equal weight factor. In addition to this, the p-level is increased non-uniformly or selectively through a posteriori error estimation based on SPR (superconvergent patch recovery) technique, proposed by Zienkiewicz and Zhu, by auto mesh p-refinement. The cut-out plate problem under tension has been tested to validate this approach. It also provides validity of kriging interpolation through comparing to existing least square method.

The three dimensional interpolation is widely used for many kinds of color signal transformation such as real-time color gamut mapping. Given input color signal, the output color signal is approximately calculated by the interpolation with the input point and extracted values from a lookup table which is constructed by storing the values of transformation at regularly packed sample points. Apparently, errors of the interpolated approximation heavily depend on the selection of the lookup table. In this paper, a least square method is applied to assigning values of the lookup table with fixed size in order to minimize error of three-dimensional interpolation. The experimental result shows that the proposed method has better interpolation performance.

A new Rockwell hardness (HRC) model using a volumetric parameter by a least square and fractal interpolation method is suggested. The results are also investigated in comparison to real measured hardness data. For this purpose, the measurement of an indented volume is performed using a confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM), and the captured height encoded image (HEI) is used as an original surface for the calculation of the indented volume. After configuring the surface, the constructed volume is calculated and used as an independent variable for HRC hardness modeling. The hardness model is established using an experimental modeling technique involving a least square algorithm and fractal interpolating model, and this suggested model can be used to reliably predict the Rockwell hardness. These techniques can also be applied to the modeling of the Brinnell and Vickers hardnesses using a volumetric variable.

This paper presents a new circular curve fitting approach of articulated manipulators, based on pseudoinverses. The paper aims at gaining the interpolation of circle from n data points, under the condition that the fitted circle should pass both a start point and an end point. In this paper, two algorithms of circular interpolation are presented. Prior to circular interpolation, are a spherical fitting should be performed, using least squares. In the first algorithm, the relationship between point data and normal vector on the sphere is used. In the second algorithm. the equation of plane which can be obtained from 3 points, i.e., a start point, an end point, and center of a sphere. The proposed algorithms are show to be efficient by using MATLAB-based simulation.

Because of the high performance with the edge regions, the existing LSE(Least Square Estimation) method provides much better results than other methods. However, since it emphasizes not oがy edge components but also noise components, some part of interpolated images looks like unnatural. It also requires very high computational complexity and memory for implementation. We propose a new LSE interpolation method which requires much lower complexity and memory, but provides better performance than the existing method. To reduce the computational complexity, we propose and adopt a simple sample window and a direction detector to reduce the size of memory without blurring image. To prevent from emphasizing noise components, the hi-linear interpolation method is added in the LSE formula. The simulation results show that the proposed method provides better subjective and objective performance with love. complexity than the existing method.
Chimera grid methods have been widely used in Computational Fluid Dynamics due to its simplicity in constructing grid systems over complex bodies, and suitability for unsteady flow computations with bodies in relative motion. However, the interpolation procedure for ensuring the continuity of the solution over overlapped regions fails when the so-called orphan cells are present. We have adopted the MLS(Moving Least Squares) method to replace commonly used linear interpolations in order to alleviate the difficulty associated with the orphan cells. MLS is one of the interpolation methods used in mesh-less methods. A number of examples with MLS are presented to show the validity and the accuracy of the method.
