  • 본 논문에서는 객체기반의 모바일 콘텐츠 검색 기술에 대한 평가 항목, 평가 기준, 평가 방법을 설정하여 관련 기술의 성능을 객관적으로 검증하는 방법에 대해 설명한다.. 객체기반의 모바일 콘텐츠 검색 기술은, 다양한 분야에서 활용이 가능한데, 대표적인 서비스 분야는 e-Learning 분야, 문화재 정보검색 분야, 모바일 AR 분야, 스마트 TV 분야, 모바일 쇼핑분야, 모바일 영상 감시분야 등 매우 다양하다. 본 논문에서 제시한 객체기반 모바일 콘텐츠 검색 기술 평가 지침은 국내 디지털 콘텐츠 업계에서 개발, 생산하고 있는 객체기반의 모바일 콘텐츠 검색 기술의 품질을 객관적으로 평가할 수 있는 체계를 제공함으로써, 사용자는 표준화된 객체기반의 모바일 콘텐츠 검색 기술의 인증서의 내용을 토대로 자신의 목적에 따라 선택하여 사용할 수 있도록 하고, 기술 개발자들에게는 보다 우수한 객체기반의 모바일 콘텐츠 검색 기술의 개발을, 평가자에게는 공정한 평가를 가능하게 할 수 있다.

Video Processing for Human Perception Oriented Coding

  • This paper presents human perception-based video coding method using an online learning framework. In this work, we analyze the relationship between human attention regions and video quality, and also consider human memory. We classify the motion patterns based on the analysis. Then, we devise a motion pattern classification method using Hedge algorithm. Along with the motion patterns, we smooth out the specific regions or sharpen details of the regions using the regional priorities. The preprocessed sequences are applied to the video codec. The performance is excellent on the overall quality as well as the regional quality.

  • MAC (media access control) bridge is used to interconnect separate LANs and to relay frames between the BLANs (bridged LANs). Bridge architecture consists of MAC entity, MAC relay entity and bridge protocol entity protocol entity and performs learning, filtering and forwarding functions using filtering database. In this paper, we simulate these functions of bridge and the STP (spanning tree protocol). The STP derives an active topology from an arbitrarily connected BLAN. Our simulation model assumes a BLAN consisted of three bridge forming a closed loop. In order to remove the loop, each bridge process exchanges configruation BPDU (bridge protocol data unit0 with other bridge processes connected to the bridge itself. To simulate the communication between bridges, we implement the IPC (inter-process communication) server using message queues. Our simulation results show that the assumed BLAN contains no closed loop and then there is no alternative route and no unnecessary traffic.

  • This paper proposes an image processing system based on the Convolution Neural Network technique. The image classification was performed using the composite neural network model and the images were classified with accuracy of 84% or more. The proposed system is implemented to operate on various platforms. When the system is used in the classification of images, the efficiency is higher because it is higher than the accuracy of the existing model.

The role of openness in open collaboration: A focus on open-source software development projects

  • Open-source software development projects are well suited for exploring new ideas and acquiring knowledge from developers outside of the project. In this paper, we examine the impact of external developers on innovation in open-source software development from the perspective of organizational learning theory. We examine the roles of external and internal developers, who "explore" and "exploit," respectively, on the innovation performance of 17 691 open-source software development projects whose data is stored in the GitHub platform. The results indicate that a multifaceted strategy, in which the exploitation successfully supports the exploration, is most effective for their success. The results also indicate that the role of exploration decreases after the release of the software.

  • The architectural design of student circulation space has a pronounced influence on the educational function of a school building. Recent curriculum and new teaching methods have required the sufficient space provided for circulation and various circulation spaces in a school building, such as elevator, pilotis, bridge, atrium, deck, lobby and locker room. However excessive circulation space is wasteful form the standpoint of both initial investment and operation. This study aims to investigate new circulation patterns and functions, and to propose the adequate size in planning a school corridor. For this purpose, it explores the recent trends of the corridor planning represented in the excellent school facilities in 2002. and analyzes the newly-added functions In the school corridor : architectural in-between space, dwelling space for ordinary activities, space for educational media and auxiliary learning space. This research recommends that the corridor width be carefully planned according to the supposed functions in order to achieve the efficiency in the design of school facilities.

  • 비디오로부터 객체를 검출하기 위해서는 오프라인에서 미리 객체를 검출할 수 있는 분류기가 학습되어있어야 한다. 이러한 분류기는 훈련에 사용된 훈련 집합에 매우 의존적이어서, 다양한 환경의 비디오 영상에 모두 적용할 수 있는 분류기의 설계는 불가능하다. 또한 분류기의 학습을 위해서는 상당히 많은 수의 훈련 집합이 필요하므로, 이는 신뢰도 높은 분류기 학습을 위한 높은 비용을 초래한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결 할 수 있는 온라인 학습 기반 사람 추적 방법을 제안한다. 실험 영상으로부터 적절하게 훈련 집합을 수집함으로써 해당 실험 영상에 최적화된 분류기의 학습이 가능하며, 다양한 환경의 영상에 적용적으로 설계될 수 있다.

Beliefs, Preferences, and Processes of College EFL Readers

  • This study aimed to explore EFL learners' beliefs and preferences about reading tasks and to examine the reading processes that they use for making sense of text. The subjects were comprised of 107 college students who were non-English majors and aged 19-28 years. Based on scores achieved on a reading comprehension test, they were divided into two groups (more-skilled and less-skilled readers) and asked to respond to a survey in class. The results of the survey revealed that: (1) a majority rate themselves as fair readers, which might be indicative of the insecurity they feel toward L2 reading; (2) authentic texts (especially magazines) and popular media appear to be their favorite reading materials; (3) unknown vocabulary is a major impediment to their L2 reading comprehension; (4) the more-skilled readers manifest a meaning centered view of reading, whereas the less-skilled readers center on vocabulary; and (5) both groups employ a multistrategic approach to L2 reading; however, the less-skilled readers are less successful in determining the meaning of unknown vocabulary. Pedagogical implications for EFL classroom teachers are provided.

  • 본 논문에서는 준 지도 학습에 기반한 중요 객체 검출 방법을 제안한다. 첫째, 색상과 공간 정보를 활용하여 이미지를 분할한 후, 분할된 영역을 색상의 유사도로 연결하여 그래프를 만든다. 둘째, 색 대비 및 가장자리 사전 지식을 활용하여 중요 객체에 해당하는 씨앗 노드와 배경에 해당하는 씨앗 노드를 추출한다. 끝으로, 중요 객체 및 배경 씨앗 노드를 이용하여 준 지도학습 기법에 적용함으로써 이미지 전체 노드의 중요도를 계산한다. 실험 결과, 제안한 알고리즘이 최신의 다른 알고리즘보다 높은 재현율 구간에서 높은 정밀도를 보임을 확인할 수 있고, 시각적으로도 좋은 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있다.

An Analysis about Factors on the Facilities Relocation Based on Variation Type in Middle and High Schools (교과교실형 운영을 위한 중등학교 교사공간 재배치 요인 분석)

  • This study was carried out to obtain basic data for architectural plans about factors on the facilities relocation needed in management of variation type. For this, floor plans of thirteen middle schools located in Korea and Japan were compared. The results showed a successful conversion to block system according to each subject after remodeling in the schools of our country, however, a monotonous spacial composition excluded other spaces such as media space, teachers' station and preparation room was also shown. These mentioned spaces were important factors in the investigated schools of Japan. By the results of the spacial composition about each space required to the management of variation type, a space share of supplemental areas for learning activities and movement, had shown comparatively low share before remodeling, was improved to 6% and 11.6%, respectively. However, the spacial share of two areas were 16.8% and 12.9%, respectively, in the schools of Japan and it meant the distribution of area was more even than the cases of our country.
