Exploring the Effectiveness of Smart Education in a College Writing Course Utilizing Multimedia Learning Tools

  • With the development of AI, multimedia tools in education offer personalized learning environments, which foster individual competencies. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of smart education as perceived by learners through a case study of university writing classes utilizing multimedia learning tools, and to explore potential applications. To achieve this, a writing course incorporating various multimedia tools to promote interaction was designed and implemented over the course of one semester, targeting 42 university students. Through the semester, student reactions and survey results were analyzed to investigate the effects and satisfaction levels regarding the use of multimedia learning tools in writing instruction as perceived by students. The analysis revealed that multimedia-assisted writing classes effectively fostered learners' autonomy by focusing on individual needs, while also promoting interaction and encouraging spontaneous participation. Students reported recognizing the presence of diverse perspectives by comparing and communicating about each other's writing, leading to an expansion of their own thinking. In using ChatGPT, it was found that students attempted to refine their questions until they obtained the desired answers. They reported that this process deepened their understanding of the essence of the questions. These benefits led to results of high levels of students' active class engagement and satisfaction. This study contributes foundational and empirical data regarding the effectiveness and potential applications of learner-centered smart education as part of fourth industrial revolution integration research.

실시간 학습자 프로파일링을 이용한 적응적 학습 시스템 (Adaptive Learning System using Real-time Learner Profiling)

  • 적응적 학습 시스템은 학습자의 학습 요구에 따라서 학습 자료를 적응적으로 제공해주는 시스템을 의미한다. 적응적 학습 시스템은 전문가 모델, 수업 모델, 학습자 모델로 구성되어있다. 전문가 모델은 가르치는 정보를 저장하고 있다. 학습자 모델은 학생들의 학습 정보와 학습 이력에 대한 데이터를 저장한다. 수업 모델은 실제 학습자에게 필요한 학습 자료를 제공해주는 모델이다. 본 논문에서는 학습자 프로파일 정보를 통하여 학습자 모델을 구성하였으며, 동적 시나리오 구축을 통하여 수업 모델을 구성하였다. 이후 학습자의 프로파일 정보 기반의 동적 시나리오를 구축해줌으로써 학습자에게 적응적으로 학습 콘텐츠를 제공해주는 시스템을 개발하였다. 마지막으로 시스템에 대한 만족도 결과는 88%로 높은 만족도를 보였다.

정보통신윤리 교육을 위한 블랜디드 문제중심학습 시스템 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Blended PBL Systems for Information Communication Ethics Education)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 정보통신윤리 교육을 위한 효과적인 블랜디드 문제중심학습 시스템을 구현하는데 있다. 제안 시스템은 온라인 학습과 면대면 수업이 체계적으로 혼합되었고 온라인 학습 플랫폼을 위해서 무들을 활용하였다. 위키와 블로그를 지식의 생성뿐만 아니라 문제중심학습을 지원하기 위한 능동적 학습 도구로 활용하였다. 제안 시스템에서 학습자가 새로운 지식 생성과 문제 해결 능력 향상, 협동학습의 이해와 같은 문제중심학습의 다양한 효과들을 체험하기 위한 열린 공간으로서의 웹 2.0을 활용하였다. 블랜디드 문제중심학습 시스템은 교수 -학습 모형과 함께 정보통신윤리 학습에서 학습자의 수업 만족도와 학업성취도가 평가되었다. 연구 결과를 보면 블랜디드 PBL 학습 방법이 면대면 PBL 학습 방법보다 정보통신윤리 의식 함양에 효과적이었으며 면대면 PBL 학습 방법보다 학습자들의 만족도와 학업성취도가 높았다.

성인학습자 간호대학생의 학업적 자기효능감과 임상실습만족도가 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Academic Self-efficacy and Clinical Practice Satisfaction of Nursing College Students of Adult Learners on Nursing Professionalism Institution)

  • 본 연구는 성인학습자 간호대학생의 학업적 자기효능감과 임상실습만족도가 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 자료수집은 C도에 소재한 5개 대학에 재학중인 성인학습자 간호대학생 120명을 대상으로 2022년 10월 1일부터 2023년 1월 31까지 수집하였다. SPSS 26.0 프로그램으로 이용하여 서술적 통계, 상관관계 분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 임상실습만족도와 학업적 자기효능감(r=.773, p<.01), 임상실습만족도와 간호전문직관(r=7.87, p<.01), 학업적 자기효능감과 간호전문직관(r=8.34, p<.01)이 서로 양적 상관관계가 있었다. 회귀분석 결과 대학생활 만족도, 실습동료관계, 전공만족도, 임상실습만족도, 학업적 자기효능감이 간호전문직관에 영향요인으로 확인되었으며(F=57.86, p<.001), 설명력은 75.5%였다. 성인학습자 간호대학생의 간호전문직관을 향상시키기 위해서는 학업적 자기효능감과 임상실습 만족도를 높일 수 있는 중재방안을 개발하는 것을 제도적인 교육전략이 필요하겠다.

일부 간호대학생의 인지 양식에 따른 CAI 학습후 학습동기와 학습평가 비교 (Instructional Motivation and Response According to Cognitive Style after Application of Computer Assisted Instruction(CAI) for College Student Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identity the degree of instructional motivation and response after application of CAI in the student nurses' fundamental nursing course. Method: The subjects of this study were 77 student nurses and the data was collected from October, 7th to 17th in 1997. The examination sheet for cognitive style and a questionnaire to evaluate the degree of instructional motivation were used to collect data. Result : 1) It was found that the degree of instructional motivation of the learner was higher in the CAI class. (134.23/170) 2) After CAI, the learners expressed relatively higher satisfaction in understanding, interest, degree of difficulty, number of problems, icons, and extra information. 3) It was found that 53 learners(68.8%) were field independent-cognitive learners and 24 learners(31.2%) were field dependent-cognitive learners. 4) Among the instructional responses according to the cognitive behavior of the learner after CAI, there were significant differences in reasons for understanding the computer program, interest in the computer program class, and the number of students assigned to each computer. 5) There were no significant difference between cognitive style and instructional motivation. Conclusion: The CAI effect for nursing students fundamental nursing course have been positive evaluated. CAI in nursing education is becoming very available and needs to develop effective CAI and use not only fundamental nursing course but also another nursing education programs.

기업 사이버교육 학습자들의 내적통제소재, 상호작용, 만족도, 학습지속의향 간의 구조적관계 (The Structural Relationship among Internal Locus of Control, Interaction, Satisfaction and Learning Persistence in Corporate e-Learning)

  • With the rapid development of information technology, e-learning is growing in corporate. However, there are still problems in learning, such as low learning persistence rate. Learning outcomes are complex phenomenon influenced by a multitude of factors, it is need to considering the direct and indirect causal relationship among various factors. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to develop the causal model that explains the learning outcomes (satisfaction learning persistence) in corporate e-learning. This study was also intended to examine the causal relationship between the interaction and learning persistence through satisfaction mediators. For this, online survey was conducted with a sample of 270 learners who enrolled in cyber training course at A company. The major findings of this study are as follows: First, internality (internal locus of control, ${\beta}=.154$), interaction (${\beta}=.489$), satisfaction (${\beta}=.304$) have direct effect on learning persistence. Second, the interaction has direct effect on the satisfaction (${\beta}=.320$). Third, the satisfaction has direct effect on the learning persistence, and mediating the interaction and learning persistence. This result will contribute to build a learning strategy to improve learning outcomes.

대학 수업에서의 블렌디드 러닝 만족에 영향을 미치는 학습자 변인 연구 (A Study on the Learner's factors affecting the Satisfaction of BL in Universities)

  • Considered as the "new normal" mode of learning, BL has become popular in recent years especially in University education. BL is defined as a learning approach that combines e-learning and face-to-face classroom learning. BL allows for more interactive and reflective learning environment resulting in enhancing learner-directed learning. The adoption of BL in university has made it significant to probe the crucial determinants that would entice instructors and learners to use BL and enhance learning satisfaction. The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the affecting factors of the satisfaction of BL in universities in terms of leaner's aspects. Learner's role is very important in BL, because learner should self-directed study for effective performance and satisfaction in BL environment. Based on prior studies motivation, self-efficacy, and educational expectancy were identified as affecting factors of satisfaction in BL. According to the result of multiple regression, all factors(motivation, self-efficacy, and educational expectancy) were found to be significantly related to the learner's satisfaction in BL. It can provide practical guideline on effective operation strategy for BL in universities.

온라인 영재교육 프로그램에서 학습자 배경변인과 특성에 따른 효과성 인식과 만족도 차이 분석 (Analysis of The Perception of Effectiveness and Satisfaction According to Learners' Background Variables and Characteristics in Online Gifted Education Program)

  • 본 연구에서는 온라인영재교육 수강생의 성별, 학교급, 수강과목, 인터넷 수업에 자기효능감, 자기주도학습능력에 따른 프로그램 효과성 인식과 만족도 차이를 분석하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 K 영재교육원 온라인 영재교육 과정을 이수한 중학교 1학년~고등학교 2학년 학생 630명(남학생 402명, 여학생 228명)이 설문에 참여하였다. 온라인 영재교육 프로그램 효과성 인식과 만족도를 측정하기 위해 기존의 사이버가정학습 효과성 연구에 사용되었던 연구도구를 수정, 보완하였고, 인구배경학적 특성을 포함하여 총 48문항이 제시되었다. 온라인 영재교육 프로그램의 효과성 인식에 영향을 미치는 배경변인을 분석하기 위해 배경변인에 따라 두 독립표본 t검증 또는 일원분산분석을 사용하였다. 또한, 온라인 영재교육 프로그램의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 배경변인을 분석하기 위해 다변량 분산분석을 사용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 온라인 영재교육 프로그램의 효과성 인식은 전반적으로 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 온라인 영재교육 프로그램에 대한 만족도에 대해서도 대체로 만족하는 수준이었고, 세부적으로 살펴보면 온라인 영재교육 프로그램에 대한 체제만족도가 상호작용만족도보다는 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 온라인 영재교육 프로그램의 효과성 인식과 만족도에 공통적으로 영향을 미치는 배경변인은 학교급, 인터넷수업에 대한 자기효능감, 자기주도학습능력으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 효과적인 온라인 영재교육을 위해 필요한 콘텐츠 및 프로그램 요소를 제안하였다.

Mediation Effect of Motivation and Immersion for Learning in the Relation between Tutor and Learning Effectiveness of Cyber Home Learning

  • The main purpose of cyber home education in public sector is to promote public education and restrain expensive private education expenses. The primary purpose of this study is to explore the effects of motivation, immersion and tutor on the effectiveness of cyber home learning. The variables of motivation, immersion and tutor participation were incorporated in this study as follows: 1) tutor participation was classed as a single independent variable, which has interaction and also effects passion; 2) motivation and 3) immersion were classed as two mediatory variables: motivation which include relevance and confidence; and immersion which includes attention and controllability. 4) learning effect was classed as a single dependent variable of learning influence factor which has learning attitude and learning satisfaction. The results show that a tutor had a direct influence on the effects of the learners' study but motivation and immersion had an indirect influence on the effects of learners' study independently. Based on these findings a tutor should provide motivation and immersion with various learning methods and contents for learners to get maximum benefits from cyber home learning.

온라인 동영상 수업 사례 : 전문대학 '전기자기학' 교과목을 중심으로 (A Case Study of Online Video Lecture : Focusing on 'Electromagnetism' Course at Junior College)

  • In this study, we examined the cases of online video classes conducted under the COVID-19 situation for 46 first-year students majoring in electrical engineering at a 3-year college in Gyeongnam. The research was carried out according to the course development process so that classes could be conducted efficiently, focusing on electromagnetism(1) course in the second semester of the first year. The online class consisted of uploading PPT recorded videos and lecture materials to the LMS and giving assignments. The contents of the study were in the scope of examining learners' perceptions through online learning contents, assignment submission, mutual feedback between instructors and learners, university-level lecture evaluation, and free opinions on online video-based electromagnetism(1) classes. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that online lecture review and problem-solving are particularly important for understanding lecture materials, and also given the nature of engineering subjects that require plenty of mathematical expressions, the detailed and immediate feedback provided by instructor enhances learners' class satisfaction and understanding. Based on these, the direction of online classes to be developed after the COVID-19 pandemic and teaching and learning methods suitable for the characteristics of subjects were discussed.
