  • Computer science and computing technologies are applied into mathematical, science, medical, engineering and educational applications. The models are used to solve the issues in all the domains. Educational systems are used top down, bottom up, Gap Analysis model in the educational learning system. Educational learning process integrated with Lerner, content and the methodology. The Learners and content are same in the educational system or similar courses but the teaching methodologies are differing one with another. The determinations of teaching methodologies are based on the factors related to that particular model or subject. The learning model influencing determinations are made by the surveys, analysis and observation of data to maximize the learning outcome. This paper attempted to evaluate the SNE learners cognitive using NASA Scaling.

  • The importance of mathematics is emerging to create new values and secure competitiveness in an intelligent information society based on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This study was conducted with the aim of improving the academic performance and increasing interest of electronics majors in mathematics subjects. In order to develop learners' mathematical capabilities in major fields that utilize mathematics that electronics majors do not prefer, we have proposed a new teaching method to promote employment in mathematics-based electronics fields. In addition, to enhance learners' self-directed learning, we developed teaching methods for efficient mathematics subjects with programming languages as tools in electronics engineering and applied them to real-world teaching sites to effectively cultivate academic performance improvement of majors. Finally, we conducted a survey and statistically analyze the effectiveness of the developed teaching methods to present effective operational measures for mathematics education, an essential tool in intelligent information technology.

Blockchain based Learning Management Platform for Efficient Learning Authority Management

  • As the demand for distance education increases, interest in the management of learners' rights is increasing. Blockchain technology is a technology that guarantees the integrity of the learner's learning history, and enables learner-led learning control, data security, and sharing of learning resources. In this paper, we proposed a blockchain technology-based learning management system based on Hyperledger Fabric that can be verified through permission between nodes among blockchain platforms. Learning resources can be shared differentially according to the learning progress. Also the percentage of individual learners that can be managed. As a result of the study, the superiority of the platform in terms of convenience compared to the existing platform was demonstrated. As a result of the performance evaluation for the research in this paper, it was confirmed that the convenience was improved by more than 5%, and the performance was 4-5% superior to the existing platform in terms of learner satisfaction.

  • e-Learning으로 대변되는 교육의 변화는 교육환경의 기술적인 측면뿐만 아니라 패러다임 자체를 바꾸어 놓고 있다. e-Learning 환경에서의 사용자는 시스템 사용자뿐만 아니라 학습자의 역할을 동시에 가지고 있기 때문에 이런 복잡한 현상을 설명하기 위해서는 보다 포괄적인 시각이 필요하다고 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 포괄적인 시각을 연구하기에 앞서 학습자의 동기 유발에 초점을 두고 학습 성과를 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 플로우 이론을 이용하여 제시하고자 한다. 연구 결과 첫째, 플로우의 구성 요소인 내재된 흥미와 주의집중은 종속 변수인 학습 성과에 유의적인 영향을 미치고 있으며, 특히 내재된 흥미가 주의집중보다 더 중요한 요인으로 밝혀졌다. 둘째, 내재된 흥미에 영향을 미치는 요인은 정보 품질과 숙련도로 나타났으며, 셋째, 주의집중에 영향을 미치는 요인은 인지된 사용용이성, 숙련도, 컴퓨터 자기효능감으로 나타났다.

온라인 토론학습에서 스캐폴딩과 자기규제가 참여와 수행에 미치는 효과 (Facilitating Adult Learning : The Effects of Scaffolding Strategies and Self-Regulation on Discussion Participation and Performance in Online Learning)

  • As the life expectancy of human beings gets longer and our society changes into highly competitive arena, the implementation of online adult learning is growing, and therefore the learners in self-regulated scaffolding learning environments is becoming an important topic. This study is to investigate the main effects of scaffolding and self-regulation and the interaction effect on discussion participation and comprehension in online learning environments. To do this, ninety-nine adults taking online learning courses with the open university in Korea were investigated. Adult learners were divided into one of the four groups (no scaffolding, conceptual, strategic, and conceptual and strategic scaffoldings). Regarding self-regulation, learners were divided into two groups (low and high self-regulated) based on the mean score of subjective report of self-regulated learning. The results are as follows : First, 'strategic scaffolding' is more effective than 'conceptual scaffolding' in discussion participation (F=2.772, p < .05) and comprehension test (F=7.156, p < .05). Second, high self-regulated learners more actively participate than low self-regulated learners in discussion (F=6.230, p < .05), and achieve higher scores (F=4.863, p < .05). Third, there is no interaction effect between scaffolding strategies and the level of self-regulation. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed.

온라인 문법 검사기의 유용성에 대한 사이버 영어학습자들의 인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Perceptions of Cyber English Learners on the Usefulness of Online Grammar Checker)

  • 본 연구에서는 사이버 대학생들의 영작문에 대해 교수자가 충분한 피드백을 제공할 수 없는 상황에서 학생들에게 교정적 피드백을 제공하기 위해 온라인 문법 검사기 Grammarly를 활용한 후 그 교육적 효용성에 대한 학습자들의 인식을 조사하였다. 설문 결과에 따르면 학습자 대다수가 Grammarly의 유용성에 대해서 긍정적으로 생각하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 원할 때면 언제나 즉시 이용 가능한 피드백은 영어 문장력 향상에 도움이 되었다고 평가했으며, 피드백의 양적인 측면에 대한 만족도도 높게 나타났다. Grammarly는 학습자의 정의적 측면에서도 긍정적으로 작용하여 영작문에 대한 흥미도와 자신감 향상에 도움이 된 것으로 보인다. 그리고 원활한 영작문 학습을 저해하는 주요 요인 중의 하나인 영작문에 불안감을 감소시키는데 효과적이었던 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 이러한 긍정적인 결과와 함께 부정확한 피드백과 오류에 대한 부적절한 설명 등과 같은 한계도 발견되었다. 따라서 Grammarly를 영어 교육에 활용할 경우 이러한 한계로 인해 생길 수 있는 문제점들을 최소화할 수 있는 효과적인 교수법 개발을 위한 다각적인 연구가 진행될 필요가 있다.

  • 최근 사용자가 주체가 되는 웹 2.0의 교육적 활용에 대한 설계원리가 적용된 학습이 많이 제시되고 있다. 웹 2.0의 많은 요소들 중에서도 블로그는 집단에서 개인 중심으로 변해가는 웹의 경향을 잘 반영한 도구이며 게시판 같은 도구와 달리 개방적이며 정보와 콘텐츠의 생산 및 확산에 쉽게 동참할 수 있는 출발점이 되는 도구이다. 본 논문은 웹 2.0 기술과 교육을 연결시킨 새로운 학습 방법을 고안하려는 차원에서, 대학교육에서의 학습자들이 학습자 중심형 UI/UX 디자인이 적용된 블로그 기반 학습도구를 보조학습 도구로 활용을 할 경우 학습성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가에 대한 연구를 목적으로 한다. 연구도구로써 사용자 중심의 설계가 가능한 설치형 블로그를 실험환경에 적용하였으며 이에 따른 설문결과와 학습평가점수, 과제수행점수의 분석을 통해 학습자 중심형 UI/UX 디자인이 적용된 블로그 기반의 보조학습도구가 학습성취도와 학습몰입도에 영향을 준다는 결론을 얻게 되었다.

간호시뮬레이션 학습자의 간호역량에 관한 구조모형 (A Structural Model on the Nursing Competencies of Nursing Simulation Learners)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test a model of nursing competencies of nursing simulation learners. The conceptual model was based on the theory of Jeffries's simulaton theory. Methods: Data collection was conducted in October 2017 for 310 students from two nursing universities in Kyungbuk area for 20 days. Data analysis methods were covariance structure analysis using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 22.0 statistical programs. Results: The hypothetical model was a good fit for the data. The model fit indices were comparative fit index=.97, normed fit index=.94, Tucker-Lewis Index=.97, root mean square error of approximation=.44, and standardized root mean square residual=.04. Teacher factors were directly related to simulation design characteristics, and it was confirmed that the curriculum, classroom operation and teaching method of the instructors were important factors. Learner factors were found to have a direct effect on nursing competence, self-confidence, and clinical performance that belong to nursing capacity. In particular, the results of this study indicate that the simulation design characteristics have a partial mediating effect on learner factors and clinical performance, and a complete mediating effect on learner factors and clinical judgment ability. Conclusion: In order to improve the learner's clinical performance and clinical judgment ability, it is necessary to conduct practical training through nursing simulation besides preparing the learner and the educator.

  • 최근 공연예술에서 두드러지게 확인할 수 있는 현상은 바로 예술 생산물의 사회적 공유이다. 각 지자체의 도시 재해석의 결과로서 공연물 제작, 극장을 벗어난 공연의 활성화, 그리고 거리 및 특정한 공간 및 공공의 공간에서 이뤄지는 공연 행위 등은 기존의 극장 중심의 공연 형태에서 벗어나 사회적 소통과 확대를 통해 예술행위의 외연 확장을 위한 노력으로 보인다. 나아가 이는 동시대 공연예술의 공공성의 위치를 반증한다고 볼 수 있겠다. 이에 본 연구자는 몇 년 전부터 활발하게 행해져온 공공예술의 한 부류인 장소 특정적 공연 형태를 근거로 하여 최근 일어난 이태리 발사로 델 그라파 도시의 (Balsano del grapa) 전시 축제인 오페라 에스테이트(Operaestate) 축제를 통해 관객과 학습자의 수행성을 연구하고자 한다.

Comparing the Performance of 17 Machine Learning Models in Predicting Human Population Growth of Countries

  • Human population growth rate is an important parameter for real-world planning. Common approaches rely upon fixed parameters like human population, mortality rate, fertility rate, which is collected historically to determine the region's population growth rate. Literature does not provide a solution for areas with no historical knowledge. In such areas, machine learning can solve the problem, but a multitude of machine learning algorithm makes it difficult to determine the best approach. Further, the missing feature is a common real-world problem. Thus, it is essential to compare and select the machine learning techniques which provide the best and most robust in the presence of missing features. This study compares 17 machine learning techniques (base learners and ensemble learners) performance in predicting the human population growth rate of the country. Among the 17 machine learning techniques, random forest outperformed all the other techniques both in predictive performance and robustness towards missing features. Thus, the study successfully demonstrates and compares machine learning techniques to predict the human population growth rate in settings where historical data and feature information is not available. Further, the study provides the best machine learning algorithm for performing population growth rate prediction.
