리츠와 건설경기, 부동산경기, 주식시장과의 관계 분석 (Relation Analysis Between REITs and Construction Business, Real Estate Business, and Stock Market)

  • 리츠는 주식시장에 상장되어 있으면서 부동산 개발을 위한 자금조달의 성격과 부동산에 투자하는 특징도 있으므로, 주식 시장과 건설 및 부동산시장과 관계가 있을 것으로 예상할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 리츠와 주식시장, 건설 및 부동산 경기와 관계된 지표들을 시계열 분석하여, 리츠와의 영향관계를 분석하였다. 시계열 분석은 백터자기회귀모형과 백터오차수정모형을 사용하였으며, 다음의 세 부분으로 분류하여 분석하였다. 첫째, 리츠와 건설 코스피 지수와의 관계를 분석한 결과, 건설 코스피 지수가 리츠에 영향을 주는 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 리츠와 건설경기 동행지수인 건축착공면적, 부동산 경기 지수인 오피스 임대지수와 주택매매가격지수와의 관계를 분석하였다. 각 지표들은 서로 인과관계는 없는 것으로 분석되었지만, 리츠와 주택매매가격지수는 서로에게 영향을 주는 것으로 분석되었다. 셋째, 리츠와 건설경기 선행지수인 건축허가면적의 관계를 분석하였다. 두 지표는 서로 인과관계가 없는 것으로 분석되었지만, 건축허가면적이 리츠에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구를 통해 리츠는 주식시장과 주택경기, 건설경기 선행지표인 건축허가 면적에 영향을 받지만, 건설경기 동행지표인 건축착공면적과 오피스 임대지수에는 상대적으로 영향을 작게 받는 것으로 분석되었다.

고 효율 제트 베인 설계를 위한 공기역학적 특성 연구 (The Study on Aerodynamic Characteristics for the Design of High Efficiency Jet Vane)

  • 본 연구에서는 제트 베인의 선단부 형상과 종횡비에 따라 다르게 나타나는 공기 역학적 특성을 분석하였으며, 고속 고온의 가스에 의해 발생하는 제트 베인의 삭마형태에 따른 공기역학적 성능 감소를 분석하였다. 이 연구를 위해 압축 공기를 이용한 초음속 유동 시험 장치를 제작하여 마하수 2.88, 과소 팽창비 2인 유동을 모사하고, 제트 베인의 선단부 형상과 종횡비에 따른 공기역학적 특성 분석을 위해 형상이 다른 18종의 제트 베인을 제작하였으며, 또한 삭마율에 따른 공기 역학적 성능 감소를 분석하기 위해 원형과 원형 제트 베인의 10%, 20% 삭마된 베인을 제작하여, 제트 베인의 편향각을 0도에서 25도까지 5도 간격으로 변화시켜가며 양력과 항력을 측정하여 삭마와 관련한 공기역학적 성능을 분석하였다.

자가 진피지방술을 이용한 집게조갑의 교정 (Correction of Pincer Nail using Autogenous Dermofat Graft)

  • Purpose: Pincer nail is a relatively rare deformity characterized by an increase in transverse curvature along the longitudinal axis of the nail. This curvature commonly increases from proximal to distal end of nail, leading to pinching, curling, and distortion of the underlying soft tissue and resulting frequently in severe pain. Numerous surgical procedures have been reported. Preserving the width of the nail in the correction of the pincer nail is very important for functional and aesthetic reasons. We report the results of the correction of the pincer nail using autogenous dermofat graft with a good result. Methods: From May 2006 to September 2008, dermofat graft was performed in 6 patients with pincer nail. Patients were four women and two men, and the average age was 51. The affected digits were the unilateral great toes in four patients and the unilateral thumbs in two patients. Average follow-up period was 13 months. Surgical procedure was removal of nail using an elevator to avoid damage to the nail bed. An incision was created in distal portion of hyponychium. Paronychium was dissected from distal phalanx by periosteal elevator through incision of hyponychium and tunnel was made. Then dermofat grafts harvested from inguinal area were inserted into the tunnel. Finally, a silicone sheet was inserted eponychial fold for prevention of synechia. Objective assessment was evaluated by use of the width index and height index. Results: All patients reported resolution of the pain and soft tissue pinching sensation that they had before the operation. There was good adherence between the nail plate and the underlying nail bed. The nails have regrown and were corrected in a normal and flattened appearance. The width index and height index were improved. Conclusion: The autogenous dermofat graft seems to provide an effective treatment of the pincer nail with preservation of the nail matrix.

두개골 조기유합증 환자의 술후 CT Scan을 이용한 두개강내 용적의 평가 (An Evaluation by CT scanning of Intracranial Volume after Correction of Craniosynostosis)

  • Craniosynostosis is the premature fusion of one or more sutures of either cranial vault or base. Fused sutures may impede normal growth of the calvaria, leading to characteristic skull deformities; Morphological craniosynostosis is classified descriptively. Being craniosynostosis uncorrected the deformity progresses continuously and causes an increase of intracranial pressure. The surgical involvement aims at the expansion of intracranial space as well as satisfactory achievement of craniofacial shape. Early surgical correction in infancy prevents the deformity from the further progression and possible associated complication of high intracranial pressure. A long period of follow-up is essential to asses the outcome of an effectiveness of the surgery. measurement of intracranial volume has been concerned in medical personnel and anthropologists for many years. A reliable and accurate measurements of the intracranial volume facilitates to make a diagnosis and treatment of craniosynostosis. Pre-and postoperative change of intracranial volume was evaluated with 3D CT scanning in 12 cases of craniosynostosis who underwent frontal advancement and total cranial vault remodeling. Increased intracranial volume is attributed to surgical release of craniosynostosis and natural growth. We conceive that the intracranial volume is significantly increased after surgical correction of fused cranial sutures and along with natural growing. A procedure of frontal advancement and total cranial vault remodeling is very useful to correct such a deformity as craniosynostosis. And also 2 cases out of five mentally retarded patients improved remarkably and Forehead retrusion or temporal depression followed in another two cases.

한미 월간 경기동향의 선행성 분석 (Causal Analysis between the Korean and the U.S. Monthly Business Conditions)

  • 본 연구에서는 한미간 경기동향의 선행성을 주가와 경기간 선행성과 연계시켜 검정해 보았다. 이들의 선후행관계는 외환위기 이후 선명히 식별되며, 이때의 벡터자기회귀모형은 국내외 시장변수들간 연관성이 강화되고 국내경제의 대미의존도가 높아진 현실을 그대로 반영한다. 추정결과는 주가의 경기 선행성과 미국경기의 국내경기 선행성이라는 그간의 통설을 통계적으로 입증하고 있다.

On Development of Lower Order Aggregated Model for the Linear Large-Scale Model

  • The aggregation on linear large-scale dynamic systems is examined in this paper and a "two-step" approach is proposed. In this procedure, the aggregated system consists of two subsystems. The first subsystem represents aggregation through the retainment of dominant eigenvalues of the original system, leading to a first approximation of the desired output of the original system. The purpose of augmenting it with a second subsystem is to provide an estimation of the error on the first approximation, thus permitting a second correction to the output approximation and resulting in an output approximation of greater accuracy. Optimization techniques are discussed for the determination of unknown parameters in the aggregated system. These techniques use minimization principles of certain suitable performance indices and are developed for both single input-single output and multiple input-multiple output system. Numerical examples illustrating these procedures are given and the results are compared with those obtained using existing methods. Finally, a pharmacokinetics problem is studied from the aggregation point of view.

An Empirical Study of the Impact of China's Export Tax Rebates on RMB Appreciation

  • While the issue of RMB (Renminbi, Chinese Yuan) revaluation became the focus of world attention in 2003, the reform of the RMB exchange rate regime in 2005 didn't fundamentally solve the RMB appreciation problem, and even in 2008 the global financial crisis made RMB appreciation face new challenges and risks. It appears that the rise in RMB value is caused by supply exceeding demand in China's foreign exchange market; however, intrinsically it is due to the asymmetry in RMB exchange rate formation mechanism. The export tax rebates policy implemented by Chinese government is one of the leading causes of the asymmetry. This study constructs a transmission model between export tax rebates and foreign exchange rates, and applies the Granger Test to validate the causality between kernel variables based on correlative data from 1994-2011, and uses the error correction method to analyze the quantified relations of kernel variables, and finally gets the contribution rate of export tax rebates to RMB appreciation.

SURGE LINE STRESS DUE TO THERMAL STRATIFICATION

  • If there is a water flow with a range of temperature inside a pipe, the wanner water tends to float on top of the cooler water because it is lighter, resulting in the upper portion of the pipe being hotter than the lower portion. Under these conditions, such thermal stratification can play an important role in the aging of nuclear power plant piping because of the stress caused by the temperature difference and the cyclic temperature changes. This stress can limit the lifetime of the piping, even leading to penetrating cracks. Investigated in this study is the effect of thermal stratification on the structural integrity of the pressurizer surge line, which is reported to be one of the pipes most severely affected. Finite element models of the surge line are developed using several element types available in a general purpose structural analysis program and stress analyses are performed to determine the response characteristics for the various types of top-to-bottom temperature differentials due to thermal stratification. Fatigue analyses are also performed and an allowable environmental correction factor is suggested.

Differential QCD Predictions of the W± + 1 Jet for the Large Hadron Collider and Possible Future High Energy Colliders

  • The differential quantum chromodynamics (QCD) predictions for the $W^{\pm}$ boson and a single jet as functions of the lepton pseudorapidity in proton-proton collisions are presented up next-to-leading order correction in QCD. The predictions are done by using the most modern parton distribution functions (PDFs). To check the reliability of the PDFs, we compared 7 TeV predictions with the available experimental results at the corresponding energy. Finally, the differential QCD predictions and the asymmetry between the $W{^+}+1$ jet and $W{^-}+1$ jet events at $\sqrt{s}=7$, 8, 13, 14 and 100 TeV are discussed in detail.

Lead-Lag Relationships between Import Commodity Prices and Freight Rates: The Case of Raw Material Imports of Korea

  • Purpose - This study investigates the lead-lag relations between the prices of major commodities imported into Korea and corresponding shipping freight rates. This paper aims to provide implications for cross-market causal relations between related economic segments. Design/Methodology - For economic long-run equilibrium between commodity prices and freights, a Johansen (1988) cointegration test is employed first. Then, Granger (1987) causality tests are performed under the vector error correction model (VECM) framework. Findings - The results indicate that the direction of causality varies by raw materials, which is attributable to different economic mechanisms in the corresponding shipping transportation sectors. In addition, the significance of causality becomes blurred during the post-2008 period. Practical Implication - Corporate managers in commodity trading, steelmaking, power generation, and oil refinery sectors can take advantage of the findings in this study as identifying leading economic indicators can be helpful for decision making in both short- and long-term strategies. Originality/value - This study is the first attempt to analyze the inter-relations between commodity prices and corresponding freight rates focusing on raw material imports of Korea.
