Background: The wood-processing industry has historically exhibited high rates of occupational hazards resulting in illness and injury. One of the major causes of high injury rates is small firm size, as resource constraints generally preclude hiring safety officers. This study examined the effect of a safety leadership training program that included coaching for managers on workers' safety behaviors and safety climate in three wood-processing companies. Methods: One or two managers at each site participated in this study. The manager training consisted of safety leadership education, safety observation, positive or corrective feedback on workers' behaviors, goal setting, and low-cost rewards for meeting goals. The dependent variable was the percentage of safe employee behaviors recorded on a critical behavior checklist developed for this study. Safety climate was measured before and after the intervention. An AB multiple baseline design across settings was adopted. After the baseline (A), the training program (B) was introduced to each site at different points in time. Results: After the introduction of safety leadership training, the mean rate of safety compliance increased by 15.3%, from 80.38% to 95.68%, and safety climate scores increased significantly from an average of 3.2 to 3.47. Conclusion: These results suggest that safety leadership coaching can be effective in improving safety management in small sawmilling sites. Implications, limitations, and possible future research directions are discussed.

Purpose Cloud computing that provides a new paradigm for a firm's use of information technology is getting a lot of attentions by practitioners. However, the empirical investigation on members of organizations using cloud computing are insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to examine the capabilities and perceptions of organizational members that should be considered important for successful cloud computing implementation. Design/methodology/approach This study proposed factors related to the capabilities and perceptions of members of the organization, and examined the relationship between these factors and successful cloud computing implementation and performance. In addition, this study tested the moderating effect of leadership and continuous supports through empirical analysis. The proposed hypotheses were verified through structural equation modeling using SmartPLS3.0 with the collected data. Findings The results showed that four factors except 'member behavior control' had a positive effect on successful cloud computing implementation, which had a positive effect on performance. In addition, leadership and organizational continuous support have been shown to strengthen the relationship among factors.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for developing strategic programs based on 119 emergency medical technicians leadership perception types. Methods: The subjects were thirty six 119 emergency medical technicians working for out-of hospital in Jeollanam-Do, Korea. Data were collected from July 20, 2017 to October 30, 2017. Q sample of 40 statements and P sample of 36 persons using PC QUANL software. Results: Three types of leadership styles were identified from the explanation (71.5% of the variables). The relationship oriented progressive type (the most common), the performance and value oriented type (the second most common), and the experience oriented filed participation type (the third most common). Conclusion: The fire department will need to develop and implemented leadership improvement programs based on the leadership types in order to meet the organization's goals.
A number of organizations have had big interests in studies concerning leadership and not only academia but also psychological areas do also. Until now, leadership has been accentuated by managers or team leaders especially. Recently, however, the concept of self-leadership directing one's own activities through self-control or self-management is being focused on in practices and in academia. This study is to investigate the influence between self-leadership strategies as predictors and learning performance in IT classes as dependents variables mediated by attitude of attendance focused on the social science students in two universities (Korea(116 samples) and India(36 samples)). And this research tried to compare difference between two university students. As a result of empirical analysis, Korean learners making an effort by themselves show a tendency to think constructively. Namely, even though the level of difficulty may be high, by positive self-talk, respondents usually make an effort to get high academic performance. In case of Indian respondents, students who are in behavior-oriented show higher academic performance. Research results can give us direction of task-taking attitudes in firms or learning attitudes in teaching organizations and implications to human resource managers who are in charge of improving learning performance or productivity.

The goals of this study are to identify perceived leadership competency effects on job satisfaction, organizational commitment and to verify the moderating effects of psychological empowerment in the relationships between leadership competency and job performance through empirical survey. To achieve the goals, 331 questionnaires were analyzed with spss 18.0. The results of the survey can be summarized as follows. Leadership competency has positive effect on impact, self-efficacy, self-determination, meaning, which are subdivision of psychol. The goals of this study are to identify perceived leadership competency effects on psychological empowerment, and the higher leadership competency is perceived, the more positive effect it has on job performance. In the survey on the effectiveness of empowerment on job performance, it has partial positive effect. The hypothesis that empowerment moderates the relationships between leadership competency and job satisfaction was not accepted, between leadership competency and organizational commitment was partly accepted This study provides academic and practical implications by investigating modulating factors of leader's competency and effects of psychological empowerment the different level.
Purpose: The purpose of this study examines the mediating effect of clan leadership in the relationship between hierarchy culture and organizational commitment. Most previous research focused on the relationship between organizational culture and organizational performance or organizational culture and job satisfaction. There are few empirical studies that focus on organizational commitment data because it is difficult to collect in many cases of export-driven small and medium sized enterprises. However, this research measures affective commitment, continuance commitment, and normative commitment differently than previous research, which is mostly focused on the hierarchy culture, clan leadership, and organizational commitment measurements. Research design, data, methodology: Conceptual research model is based on the studies of Cameron and Quinn (2011), and Gungor and Sahin (2018). The model is designed with three constructs such as hierarchy culture, organizational commitment, and clan leadership. The monitor culture and coordinator culture are as proxy for the hierarchy culture. The affective commitment, continuance commitment, and normative commitment are as proxy for the organizational commitment. And also the facilitator leadership and mentor leadership are as proxy for the clan leadership. Based on three hundred cases such as export-driven small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), this study verify the hypothesis. Hypothesis was analyzed with the structural equation modeling. Results: In case of export-driven small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), clan leadership acts as a mediator in the relationship between hierarchy culture and organizational commitment. In case of export-driven small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) with high organizational commitment, clan leadership acts as a mediator in the relationship between hierarchy culture and organizational commitment. In case of export-driven small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) with low organizational commitment, clan leadership did not act as a mediator in the relationship between hierarchy culture and organizational commitment. Conclusions: By controlling for the mediating effect of clan culture, this study have improved the academic contributions as well as policy and practical implications through empirical study of clan leadership that affect organizational commitment in the fields of hierarchy culture. In addition, this study means that the mediating effects on the variables of clan leadership were examined.
Purpose - Unlike in the past, individualistic thought is more dominant than groupism where members prioritize organizations. Such changes run counter to the direction of the survival of the companies, which calls for companies to explore strategies to address thems. As one of the solutions, many people highlights social capital. However, since most studies have been conducted on the definition and characteristics of social capital, there is not enough prior factor research on the formation of social capital. So the current situation require researches on the formation of social capital. Research design, data, and methodology - To achieve the purpose, the literature and the empirical studies were combined. Deriving workplace democracy and servant leadership as factors affecting the formation of social capital through the literature, and this factors have modeled assumptions about the impact on social capital, and have established hypotheses to verify them. The survey which is conducted to verify the hypothesis and questionnaires are derived base on the variables used in the previous studies. The survey was conducted 447 respondents in Korea. Results - As a result, we found that the workplace democracy is positively functioning with the formation of social capital. It means that the democracy functions as a universal element to enhance the quality of social capital at the workplace. The evidence also shows that the positive impacts of the servant leadership on the formation of social capital. And the survey shows that groups with high level servant leadership had a higher impact on the formation of social capital than those with low levels leadership. Conclusions - At present, the social capital has become an important factor for the companies pursuing high performance workplaces. We found that the workplace democracy and the servant leadership affect the formation of social capital. It means that to increase the employees' sense of community and solidarity, it is need to form democratic environment with the servant leadership. Therefore, based on the results of this study, the workplace democracy and the servant leadership can present strategic implications that can increase the social capital.

Purpose: This study was conducted to develop a nursing leadership program outcome evaluation system, required for accreditation of nursing education. Methods: A methodological design was used. To ensure the theoretical validity of the evaluation system, learning objectives for nursing education programs and job descriptions for nurses in Korea were verified by analyzing the relationships in the five attributes of the nursing leadership concept. The nursing leadership program outcome evaluation system was developed based on the Kim & Park's developmental model (2008). Results: The nursing leadership program outcome evaluation system was established, including implementation level, education curriculum, level of performance, evaluation method, rubrics, and Close-the-Loop. Conclusion: The developed evaluation system can be actively used in nursing education, and contribute to enhancing the leadership competencies of nursing students and graduate nurses.
Purpose: This study seeks to address the following research questions: (1) What are the fundamental principles of sports psychology that can be applied to business leadership? (2) How can these principles enhance business leadership effectiveness? As a result, the study may evaluate the necessity and benefits of incorporating sports psychology principles into business leadership practices.
