  • The purpose of this study is to develop the engineering students leadership program and evaluate the pilot test. To this end, literature reviews covering various leadership programs were studied and a needs analysis survey was conducted. The needs analysis survey found that student subjects believe leadership to be an important quality, but that the current availability of leadership training programs is lacking. Furthermore, results of the study are as follows, with respective results listed in descending order. The majority of students selected on-line learning as their preferred training method, followed by blended learning and in-person learning. Students also indicated their preferred instructional method to be through on-line courses. Based on these results, a preliminary pilot program was experimentally launched for only 1 class's use. This process of the development for the Engineering Leadership Program consists of 4 stages. The first stage is a needs analysis survey, followed by the design of the program based on results from the needs analysis survey. Afterwards comes the development stage, followed by the implementation stage, comprised of two parts; the pilot test and the distribution. The final stage is the overall evaluation step. We are currently in the first step of the third stage (the pilot test) and only the overall evaluation stage remains. After the distribution, a follow-up study will be conducted to analyze the effectiveness of the implemented program.

Methods: 301 early childhood teachers answered the music attitude scale, music teaching efficacy belief instrument, emotional leadership scale, and questionnaire for socio-demographic characteristics and music experiences. Data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's productive correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: First, early childhood teachers had a higher music teaching efficacy in case of at least 10 years of teaching experiences period, having a post-graduate degree, having a music training experience, enjoying learning musical instruments and singing and listening to music during regular music lessons, and having a long music training experience. Similar results were derived from the subfactors of music teaching efficacy. Second, there were positive correlations(r=.172-.659, p < .001) in the total and subfactors scores among early childhood teachers' music attitude, emotional leadership, and music teaching efficacy. Lastly, early childhood teachers' music attitude and their emotional leadership were explained at 39~52 percent for their music teaching efficacy. The purpose of this special educational program is to promote and educate selected students who are highly motivated to learn science & mathematics and to become an active leader in industrial sectors or research institutes. The activity can be divided into two categories: "Student-Proposed Stream" and "Advanced Research Stream". These activities were found to be useful to cultivate student's leadership and global communication ability. Furthermore, most of the FLC students cultivated the excellent academic performance and five students among them will be allowed to skip their fourth undergraduate year and enter directly into our graduate school.
