  • In this paper, the characteristic of the equalizer using Lattice filter was investigated in channel ISI (Inter-Symbol Interference) in OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) system. The equalizer using lattice filter has more fast convergence and little equalization error characteristic in two number of tap by orthogonal effect of each tap than another equalizers. The filter coefficient convergency and static BER (bit error ratio) characteristic was analysed by computer simulation. In this paper, it is shown that the equalizer using lattice filter has the better performance than a equalizer which makes use of another equalization method.

  • This paper describes a new two-dimensional adaptive lattice algorithm which determines reflection coefficients recursively by applying the gradient search technique to a two-dimensional lattice filter proposed by Parker and Kayran. The convergence characteristics of the proposed algorithm are also described. A new tow-dimensional adaptive lattice \ulcorneralgorithm has been obtained through the application of the \ulcorneralgorithm to the two-dimention adaptive lattice algorithm. Computer simulation proves that the convergence speed of the two-dimension adaptive lattice \ulcorneralgorithm is reladtively higher than that of the conventional adaptive lattice algorithm when \ulcornerhas a small value.

  • The shock process represents an abrupt change in fluid properties, in which finite variations in pressure, temperature, and density occur over a shock thickness which is comparable to the mean tree path of the gas molecules involved. The fluid phenomenon is simulated by using finite difference lattice Boltzmann method (FDLBM). In this research, the new model is proposed using the lattice BGK compressible fluid model in FDLBM for the purpose of shortening in calculation time and stabilizing in simulation operation. The numerical results agree also with the theoretical predictions.

  • This study describes a simulation of two-dimensional bubble forming and motion by the Lattice Boltzmann Method with the phase field equation. The free energy model is used to treat the interfacial force and deformation of binary fluids system, drawn into a T-junction the micro channel. A numerical simulation of a binary flow in a cross-junction channel is carried out by using the parallel computation method. The aim in this investigation is to examine the applicability of LBM to numerical analysis of binary fluid separation and motion in the micro channel.

  • In this paper we present an algorithm about how to simulate two dimensional dam breaking with lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). LBM considers a typical volume element of fluid to be composed of a collection of particles that represented by a particle velocity distribution function for each fluid component at each grid point. We use the modified Lattice Boltzmann Method for incompressible fluid. This paper will represent detailed information on single phase flow which considers only the water instead of both air and water. Interface treatment and conservation of mass are the most important things in simulating free surface where the Interface is treated by mass exchange with the water region. We consider the surface tension on the interface and also bounce back boundary condition for the treatment of solid obstacles. We will compare the results of the simulation with some methods and experimental results.

  • An air-water free surface flow simulation by using the Lattice Boltzmann Method(LBM) has not been studied a lot compared with the done by the Navier-Stoke equation. This paper shows the LBM is as one of the application tools for the free surface movement over an obstacle. The Mezo scaled application tool has been developed with two dimensional and nine discretized velocity direction using conventional lattice Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook model. Boundary conditions of a halfway-based for solid wall and a kinematic-based for interface are adopted. A validation case with a trapezoidal shape bump to make a comparison between freesurface movements from computational results and experimental ones was described with grid size dependency.

  • Deteriorative effects of steel corrosion on the structural response of reinforced concrete are simulated for varying degrees of corrosion. The simulation approach is based on a three-dimensional irregular lattice model of the bulk concrete, in which fracture is modeled using a crack band approach that conserves fracture energy. Frame elements and bond link elements represent the reinforcing steel and its interface with the concrete, respectively. Polylinear stress-slip properties of the link elements are determined, for several degrees of corrosion, through comparisons with direct pullout tests reported in the literature. The link properties are then used for the lattice modeling of reinforced concrete beams with similar degrees of corrosion of the main reinforcing steel. The model is successful in simulating several important effects of steel corrosion, including increased deflections, changes in flexural cracking behavior, and reduced yield load of the beam specimens.

  • Two-dimensional direct numerical simulation of the edge-tones by the finite difference lattice Boltzmann method (FDLBM) is presented. We use a new lattice BGK compressible fluid model that has an additional term and allow larger time increment comparing the conventional FDLBM, and also use a boundary fitted coordinates. We have succeeded in capturing very small pressure fluctuations result from periodically oscillation of jet around the edge. That pressure fluctuations propagate with the sound speed. It is clarified that the sound wave generated in rather wide region and individual vortices do not affect the sound wave propagation.

  • In this paper a adaptive LMS(least mean-square) lattice predictor, which is composed of the adaptive lattice algorithm and LMS algorithm by Widrow-Hopf, is used to predict the future air pollution of the extraordinary levels in the environmental system. This prediction algorithm is applied to the one-step forward prediction of atmospheric CO concentration by using real observed data. Computer simulation proves that the power in the forward error sequences decreases as the number of stages in the lattice is increased.
