  • This study is to suggest some theoretical and policy implications through investigating the relationships between parental attitude and adolescent's self_esteem. This study analyzed some data including parental attitude and self_esteem from KCYPS. Parental attitude was supposed not to change as time goes by. The analytical results are the followings. First, the change rate and intercept of adolescent's self-esteem were significant, which means the change pattern of self-esteem depends on adolescent. Second, positive parental attitudes influence on the change pattern of adolescent's self-esteem significantly. Third, negative parental attitude influence on the change pattern of adolescent's self-esteem significantly. This study suggests some policy implications basing on these analytical results.

  • Korea economy's latent growth rate has already been decreased about 4%. During 1983-1989, the latent growth rate was 8%, before the foreign exchange crisis, 1990-1997 was 6.7%, and during $2000{\sim}2004$, it had been decreased 4.4%. The latent growth rate means economy growth rate which one nation can achieve capital, labor, and factors as applying these. Our economy growth rate was 8% in 1980s, but it had been decreased about 6.7% during $1990{\sim}1997$, after 2000, it remarkably decreased 4.8% which shows weakness of our economy's strength. This study attempts to investigate about export growth factor of venture company in our nation's growth that depends on export. This thesis studied the companies continuance and growth in external environment's regular correlation and casual relationship which surround company's factors and internal. Also, the external environment, which surrounds company, can be thought that company can't control itself, so that the company's continuance and growth can be decided because of its internal primary factors. This thesis establishes and analyzes the study model that how factors can affect to company's growth.

  • This study aimed to explore the trajectories of computer game use of school age children and to identify the related predictors. The data for this study used Korean Children and Youth Panel data covering from the second year to the sixth year of elementary school. A total of 1,959 participants were analyzed. Latent class growth model was employed to explore the trajectories of computer game use and multinomial logistic regression was conducted to identify the significant predictors. Main results indicated that three types of trajectories were identified: low game using group, high initial using-fluctuating group, and high increasing game using group. Each group was found to be associated deferentially with sex, aggression, attention deficit, main caregiver's education, siblings, parent absence after-school, neglecting, family income, family trip, school grades, and peer relationship. Based on these findings, this study emphasized the importance of predictive intervention for the game user among early school age children and suggested useful practical strategies.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the longitudinal mediating effects of peer attachment on the relationship between psychological school environment and children's sense of community. Data on 1,088 children were obtained from the 10th, 11th, and 13th Panel Study on Korean Children in the 3rd 4th, and 6th grades. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Cronbach's α, Pearson's correlation, a latent growth model, and a multivariate latent growth model. All analyses were conducted in SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 23.0. The principal results were as follows. First, children's peer attachment gradually decreased over time. Moreover, individual differences existed in the initial values and rates of change. Second, the psychological school environment in the 3rd grade positively influenced children's initial peer attachment, which then exerted a positive impact on children's sense of community in the 6th grade. Second, the psychological school environment in the 3rd grade negatively influenced children's rates of change, which also exerted a positive impact on children's sense of community in the 6th grade. Finally, the initial value and rates of change of peer attachment were significant mediating effects of the relationship between the psychological school environment in the 3rd grade and children's sense of community in the 6th grade. The findings highlight the necessity of creating a psychological school environment that develops peer attachment and a sense of community among children.

  • Objectives: This study is aimed at exploring the temporal developmental relationship of adolescent depression and parents' child-rearing attitudes, and to examine gender differences in the relationship. The middle school students of the 2011-2013 1st Korea Children and Youth Panel data were used for analysis and the sample consisted of 2.073 individuals. Methods: Research questions were answered through the Latent Growth Model and Autoregressive Cross-Lagged Model. Results: As the results of the Latent Growth Model show, adolescent depression declines as time goes by and there are differences in the depression felt by individuals. An autoregressive cross-lagged model and multiple group analysis were executed by gender. The results show significant gender differences in the relationship between depression and Parents' child-rearing attitudes. Parental neglect has shown differences influencing adolescents depression between males and females. However, in case of parental abuse, no differences between males and females were observed. Conclusion: The results of this study imply that the policy on depression should be carefully considered when preparing for interventions targeting adolescents by gender.

  • In recent times, the median filtering (MF) detector as a forensic tool for the recovery of forgery images' processing history has concerned broad interest. For the classification of MF image, MF detector should be designed with smaller feature set and higher detection ratio. This paper presents a novel method for the detection of MF in altered images. It is transformed from BMP to several kinds of MF image by the median window size. The difference distribution values are computed according to the window sizes and then the values construct the feature set same as the MF window size. For the MF detector, the feature set transformed to the model specification which is computed using latent growth modeling (LGM). Through experiments, the test image is classified by the discriminant into two classes: the true positive (TP) and the false negative (FN). It confirms that the proposed algorithm is to be outstanding performance when the minimum distance average is 0.119 in the confusion of TP and FN for the effectivity of classification.

  • This study attempts to investigate the trajectories of socio-economic deprivation on the depression trajectories among middle-aged individuals using a latent growth model over the last five years. Using the Korea welfare panel study data ranged from the year 2013 (8th wave) to the year 2017 (12th wave), a sample of 7,437 aged over 40 was selected. Three hypothesis was proposed as follows. Is the trajectory of depression changing over the years? Are the initial values of socio-economic deprivation causally related to the initial values of depression? Are the rates of change in socio-economic deprivation causally related to the rates of change in depression? Results showed that the growth curve of depression tended to decline negatively over the five-year period. As the intial values of socio-economic deprivation increased, so did the initial values of depression move upwards. Finally, as the changes of socio-economic deprivation tended to get larger, those changes of depression also accordingly increased as well. The public policy implications based on the current study were discussed to pay more attention to those middle-aged individuals suffering from socio-economic deprivations.

  • The temperature profile of Czochralski single crystal growth system was simulated considering the fluid flow and surface radiation heat transfer. View factors of surface elements were calculated for radiation heat transfer. Two phases(solid and liquid) were treated as a continuous phase by assigning artificial large viscosity to the solid phase and latent heat was accounted by iterative heat revolution method. The solidification model was applied to solid front of the pure Ga during the melting to verify the model. The whole simulation model of CZ system was applied to the growth Al single crystal.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the change trajectory and latent class types of self-esteem in first to fourth grade elementary school students. For the purpose, the Korean Children's Panel data were analyzed using potential growth model and the growth mixture model. As the results, the linear change model was selected as the most appropriate model. The change trajectory was found to increase slightly as the grade increased. In addition, four latent class groups were derived through: 'high level-maintenance,' 'low level-increase,' 'high level-decrease,' and 'low level-maintenance.' Most children were in the 'high level-maintenance' group, followed by 'high level-decrease,' 'low level-increase,' and 'low level-maintenance' groups. Therefore, based on the results of the study, we suggest that educational institutions and local communities pay attention to trends in elementary school students' self-esteem and provide appropriate support for students in each class.

  • There are two competing models explaining the causal relationship of depression and self-esteem, and they are cognitive vulnerability model and the scar model. Cognitive vulnerability model explains that low self-esteem poses as a risk factor for development of depressive symptoms/depression while the scar model asserts that the experiences of depression scars the cognitive function of individuals, resulting in negative self-perception. This study was set out to test two models on Korean adults, and to identify factors that are associated with depression and self-esteem relationship. The first four waves (wave 1~4) of the Korea Welfare Panel Study (KOWEPS) were used for analyses, and latent growth curve modeling was employed to examine the relationship. The findings show that the relationship was reciprocal, one affecting the growth trajectory of another over a four year period. Furthermore, education, poverty status, health status, and satisfaction with social relationships were found to be significantly associated with both depression and self-esteem trajectories. Implications for practice and theory are provided.
