This paper presents a semi-analytical solution for the creep analysis and life assessment of 304L austenitic stainless steel thick truncated conical shells using multilayered method based on the first order shear deformation theory (FSDT). The cone is subjected to the non-uniform internal pressure and temperature gradient. Damages are obtained in thick truncated conical shell using Robinson's linear life fraction damage rule, and time to rupture and remaining life assessment is determined by Larson-Miller Parameter (LMP). The creep response of the material is described by Norton's law. In the multilayer method, the truncated cone is divided into n homogeneous disks, and n sets of differential equations with constant coefficients. This set of equations is solved analytically by applying boundary and continuity conditions between the layers. The results obtained analytically have been compared with the numerical results of the finite element method. The results show that the multilayered method based on FSDT has an acceptable amount of accuracy when one wants to obtain radial displacement, radial, circumferential and shear stresses. It is shown that non-uniform pressure has significant influences on the creep damages and remaining life of the truncated cone.
In this paper, friction welding optimization for 1Cr0.5Mo-STS304 (${\phi}14\;mm$), AE applications for the weld quality evaluation and the applications of various life prediction methods such as LMP (Larson-Miller Parameter) and ISM (initial strain method) were investigated : The creep behaviors of those steels and the friction welded joints under static load were examined by ISM combined with LMP at 400, 500, 550 and $600^{\circ}C$, and the relationship between these two kinds of phenomena was studied. The real-time predicting equations of elevated-temperature creep life (rupture time) under any creep stress at any elevated-temperature could be developed by LMP and LMP-ISM. It was confirmed that the life prediction equations by LMP and LMP-ISM are effective only up to 102 h and can not be used for long times of 103-106 h, but by ISM it can be used for long times creep prediction of more than 104 h with most reliability.

In this Paper, friction welding optimization for 1Cr0.5Mo-STS304($\Phi$14mm), AE applications for the weld quality evaluation and the applications of various life prediction methods such as LMP(Larson-Miller Parameter) and ISM(initial strain method) were investigated : the creep behaviors of those steels and the friction welded joints under static load were examined by ISM combined with LMP at 400, 500, 550 and $600^{\circ}C$, and the relationship between these two kinds of phenomena was studied. The real-time predicting equations of elevated-temperature creep life(fracture time) under any creep stress at any elevated- temperature could be developed by LMP and LMP-ISM, It was confirmed that the life prediction equations by LMP and LMP-ISM are effective only up to 10$^2$hrs and can not be used for long times of 10$^3$-10$^{6}$ hrs, but by ISM it can be used for long times creep prediction of more than 10$^4$hrs with most reliability.
In this paper, the real-time prediction of high temperature creep life was carried out for the friction welded joints of dissimilar heat resisting steels (SUH3-SUH35). various life prediction method such as LMP (Larson_miller Parameter) and ISM (initial strain method) were applied. The creep behaviors of those steels and the welds under static load were examined by ISM combined with LMP at 500, 600 and $700^{\circ}C$, and the relationship between these two methods was investigated. A real-time creep lie (tr, hr) prediction equation by initial strain (${\varepsilon}_0$, %) under any creep stress ($\sigma$, MPa) at any high temperature (T, K) was developed as follows: $t_r={\alpha}{\varepsilon}_0^{\beta}{\sigma}^{-1}$ where, ${\phi}=16:
{\alpha}=10^{51.412-0.104T+5.375{\times}10^5T^2}$, $
{\beta}=-83.989+0.180T-9.957{\times}10^{-5}T^2,{\phi}=20:$${\alpha}=10^{69.910-0.146T+7.744{\times}10^{-5}T^2$, ${\beta}=-51.442+0.105T-5.595{\times}10^{-5}T^2$ for SUH3-SUH35 friction weld of =16mm and 20mm, respectively.
Effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties of an overlay weldment was investigated. Over welding was carried out on the structural C-Mn mild steel substrate to take required test specimens. Shielded metal arc welding process with 13Cr-0.2Ni stick electrode was applied. The heat treatment temperatures and holding times were $450{\circ}C., 550{\circ}C., 650{\circ}C., 750{\circ}C., 850{\circ}C.$ and 0.5hr, 2hr, 10hr, respectively. Mechanical tests and microscopic inspection were also carried out to investigate welds soundness. Test results indicated that carbon migration was dominant near bonded zone. At temperature of around 650.deg. C, carburized layer and decarburized layer were formed remarkably along overlay welds region and C-Mn mild steel region, respectively. The wideth of these layers became wider with increasing heat treatment temperature and/or holding time at the elevated temperature, and this relationship agreed with Larson-Miller parameter. Side bending test results demonstrated that the crack free region of overlay welds could be deduced from the relationship between temperature and holding time.

This paper focuses on reliability prediction of long-term creep strength for Modified 9Cr-1Mo steel (Gr. 91) which is considered as one of the structural materials of next generation reactor systems. A "Z-parameter" method was introduced to describe the magnitude of standard deviation of creep rupture data to the master curve which can be plotted by log stress vs. The larson-Miller parameter (LMP). Statistical analysis showed that the scattering of the Z-parameter for the Gr. 91 steel well followed normal distribution. Using this normal distribution of the Z-parameter, the various reliability curves for creep strength design, such as stress-time temperature parameter reliability curves (${\sigma}$-TTP-R curves), stress-rupture time-reliability curves (${\sigma}-t_{r}-R$ curves), and allowable stress-temperature- reliability curves ([${\sigma}$]-T-R curves) were reasonably drawn, and their results are discussed.
Residual stress relief by pulse magnetic treatment is attractive because the process is carried out at room temperature and magnetic fields that are easy to produce and control can be used. This study shows that strong pulse magnetic treatment can lead to stress relaxation of structural steels instead of a conventional heat treatment process. And it makes a comparative study about pulse magnetic treatment and tempering by using Larson-Miller equation. When the specimen was subjected to a pulse magnetic treatment process the residual stress in the specimen was reduced by about 13.8%. It could be compared with tempering at $200^{\circ}C$ for 2hours by using thermal effect of Larson-Miller equation. As a result, it is considered that the pulsed magnetic treatment have an effect of the stress relation by tempering at $200^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours.
In this paper, the real-time prediction of high temperature creep strength and creep for nickel-based superalloy Udimet 720 (high-temperature and high-pressure gas turbine engine materials) was performed on round-bar type specimens under pure load at the temperatures of 538, 649 and 704$^{\circ}C$. The predictive equation of ISM creep has better reliability than that of LMP and LMP-ISM, and its reliability is getting better for long time creep prediction ($10^3~10^5$h).
The creep rate is affected by the temperature and in fact. if the temperature above $T_M/2(T_M:melting\;point)$. The aim of the present investigation is to study the relationship of static creep and cyclic creep behavior of pure copper and the formulation of these phenomena with the special attention to the instantaneous strain. strain rate from time and number of cycles have the same inclination Steady state creep rate depend upon maximum stress and can be expressed as linear function according to Power law creep equations Creep rupture time has relation with creep rate. and it make a group represented as the same direct line regardless of max stress, stress ratio and the temperature. Initial strain effect on continuous creep deformation. and have guantitative relationship between elastic and Plastic strain. LMP have similar tendency than OSDP and MHP according to temperature

The grain boundary etching method as a method for assessing degradation of structural materials has received much attention because it is simple, inexpensive and easy to apply to real components. In this study, the effectiveness of the method is verified by successfully applying the technique to in-service components of aged fossil power plants such as main steam pipes, boiler headers an turbine rotors. A new degradation parameter, intersecting number ratio (N$_{1}$/N$_{0}$), is employed. The intersecting number ratio (N$_{1}$/N$_{0}$) is defined as the ratio of intersection number (N$_{1}$) obtained from 5-minute picric acid etched surface to the number (N$_{0}$) obtained from nital etched surface. Two kinds of test materials, 2.25Cr-1Mo steel and 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel, were artificially thermal-aged at 630.deg. C in different levels of degradation., (N$_{1}$/N$_{0}$) were measured. And, correlations between the measured values and LMP values calculated from aging temperature and aging time were sought. To check the validity of the correlations obtained in laboratory, similar data were measured from service components in four old Korean fossil power plants. These on-site measurement data were in good correlation with those obtained in the laboratory.oratory.
