As products become more complex, short-life cycled and customized, the design efforts require more knowledge-intensive, collaborative, coordinating, and information sharing. By sharing knowledge, information, component and process across different families of products, the product realization process will be more efficient, cost-effective and quick-responsive. The purpose of this paper is to propose an ontology-based product family modeling framework. The ideas of product family, ontology and Semantic Web were investigated in depth. A Semantic Web is originally defined as a web of data that can be processed directly or indirectly by machines, which operates intelligently. A Web Ontology Language (OWL) is designed for use by applications that need to process the content of information instead of just presenting information to humans. For the selected cellular phone product family, ontology was constructed and implemented using prot$\acute{e}$g$\acute{e}$-2000.
Data redundancy is problematic in that it not only induces heavy storage management cost but also could bring critical degradation of information systems. Unfortunately, to our knowledge, only few enterprises willingly afford time and efforts for the faithful conceptual design to prevent the degree of inappropriate data as much as they could, while most of enterprises pay rare attention to the notion of that sort of data quality. Wondering if there would be any other way to design the enterprise.wide data design without prior knowledge about business works is our major motivation for this study. In this paper, we present our data modeling methodology in which associations among objects in each sentences of a business job descriptions are treated as the focal point in database design. A proposed agent for automated design tool simply takes a business job description written in natural language as an input, and then designs an entity relationship diagram with some smart rules. We introduce the scope of the proposed agent and its detailed logics with several examples. And then, we verify the appropriateness of the resulted associations among objects. Lastly, we perform case studies to evaluate the devised agent's applicability to a business field.

Digital manufacturing is a technology to simulate the real manufacturing process using the virtual model representing the physical schema and the behavior of the real manufacturing system including resources, processes and product information. Therefore, it can optimize the manufacturing system or prevent the bottleneck processes through the simulation before the manufacturing plan is executed. This study presents a method to apply the digital manufacturing technology for the steel cutting process in shipyard. The system modeling of cutting shop is carried out using the IDEF and UML which is a visual modeling language to document the artifacts of a complex system. Also, virtual NC simulators of the cutting machines are constructed to emulate the real operation of cutting machines and NC codes. The simulators are able to verify the cutting shape and estimate the precise cycle time of the planned NC codes. The validity of the virtual model is checked by comparing the real cutting time and shape with the simulated results. It is expected that the virtual NC simulators can be used for accurate estimation of the cutting time and shape in advance of real cutting work.

This study was to develop the analyzing system for watershed characteristics data. The developed system has laid the foundation for preparing the input data in various hydrological models. The algorithms and items included in the system were derived from benchmarking of the GIS WEASEL, which used to prepare the input data of PRMS (Precipitation-Runoff Modeling System). The system was designed to develop and maintain the organized system using both object-oriented UML (Unified Modeling Language) and GIS component-based ArcObjects.

In this paper, we propose a modeling method for the flip-flops and test generation algorithms to detect the faults in the sequential circuits using VHDL in the high-level design environment. RS, JK, D and T flip-flops are modeled using data flow types. The sequence of micro-operation which is the basic structure of a chip-level leads to a control point where varnishing occurs to one of two micro- operation sequence. In order to model the fault of one micro-operation(FMOP) that perturb another micro-operation effectively, the concept of goal trees and some heuristic rules are used. Given a faulty FMOP or fault of control point (FCON), a test pattern is generated by fault sensitization, path sensitization and determination of the imput combinations that will justify the path sensitization. The fault models are restricted to the data flow model in the ARCHITECTURE statement of VHDL. The proposed algorithm is implemented in the C language and its efficiency is confirmed by some examples.

In this paper, we propose an unsupervised learning method for modeling motion trajectory patterns effectively. In our approach, observations of an object on a trajectory are treated as words in a document for latent dirichlet allocation algorithm which is used for clustering words on the topic in natural language process. This allows clustering topics (e.g. go straight, turn left, turn right) effectively in complex scenes, such as crossroads. After this procedure, we learn patterns of word sequences in each cluster using Baum-Welch algorithm used to find the unknown parameters in a hidden markov model. Evaluation of abnormality can be done using forward algorithm by comparing learned sequence and input sequence. Results of experiments show that modeling of semantic region is robust against noise in various scene.

This Study Propose A New Approach To Impliment A Intelligent Robot Control Based on Voice Recognition For Smart Factory Automation Since human usually communicate each other by voices, it is very convenient if voice is used to command humanoid robots or the other type robot system. A lot of researches has been performed about voice recognition systems for this purpose. Hidden Markov Model is a robust statistical methodology for efficient voice recognition in noise environments. It has being tested in a wide range of applications. A prediction approach traditionally applied for the text compression and coding, Prediction by Partial Matching which is a finite-context statistical modeling technique and can predict the next characters based on the context, has shown a great potential in developing novel solutions to several language modeling problems in speech recognition. It was illustrated the reliability of voice recognition by experiments for humanoid robot with 26 joints as the purpose of application to the manufacturing process.

Despite the increasing popularity of wireless sensor network, indoor positioning using low power IEEE 802.15.4 compliant radio had attracted an interest of many researchers in the last decade. Old fashionable indoor location sensing information has been presented in dull and unpleasant 2D image standard. This paper focused on visualizing high precision 3 dimensional RSSI-based (received signal strength indication) spatial sensing information in an interactive virtual reality on PDA. The developed system operates by capturing and extracting signal strength information at multiple pre-defined reference nodes to provide information in the area of interest, thus updating user's location in 3D indoor virtual map. VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) which specifically developed for 3D objects modeling is utilized to design 3D indoor environment.
Software development creates many product that class components, Class Diagram, form, object, and design pattern. So this Paper suggests Index/XML Sequence Relation information system for product abstraction and classification, the system of design product Sequence Relation abstraction which can store, reuse design patterns in the meta modeling database with pattern Relation information. This is Index/XML Sequence Relation system which can easily change various relation information of product for product abstraction and classification. This system designed to extract and classify design pattern efficiently and then functional indexing, sequence base indexing for standard pattern, code indexing to change pattern into code and grouping by Index-ID code, and its role information can apply by structural extraction and design pattern indexing process. and it has managed various products, class item, diagram, forms, components and design pattern.

With the recent advance of Web and its associated technologies, information sharing on distribute computing environments has gained a great amount of attention from many researchers in many application areas, such as medicine, engineering, and business. One basic requirement of distributed medical consultation systems is that geographically dispersed, disparate participants are allowed to exchange information readily with each other. Such software also needs to be supported on a broad range of computer platforms to increase the software's accessibility. In this paper, the development of world-wide-web based medical consultation system or radiology imaging is addressed to provide the platform independence and great accessibility. The system supports sharing of 3-dimensional objects. We use VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language), which is the de-facto standard in 3-D modeling on the Web. 3-D objects are reconstructed from CT or MRI volume data using a VRML format, which can be viewed and manipulated easily in Web-browsers with a VRML plug-in. A Marching cubes method is used in the transformation of scanned volume data set to polygonal surfaces of VRML. A decimation algorithm is adopted to reduce the number of meshes in the resulting VRML file. 3-D volume data are often very large-sized, and hence loading the data on PC level computers requires a significant reduction of the size of the data, while minimizing the loss of the original shape information. This is also important to decrease network delays. A prototype system has been implemented (http://netopia.snu.ac.kr/-cyber/). and several sessions of experiments are carried out.
