$\prod$-A Characteritics of $C_{22}$ Quinolium-(TCNQ) for LB FILM Deposition ($C_{22}$ Quinolium-(TCNQ) LB막 누적을 위한 $\prod$-A 특성)

  • $\prod$-A characteristics of N-docosylquinolium-TCNQ complex were investigated with the following variations. I> $\prod$-A characteristics with a variation of spreading amount. ii> $\prod$-A characteristics with a variation of barrier speed. iii> $\prod$-A characteristics with a variation of subphase temperature. An optimum surface pressure for a deposition of Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) layer was found to be a 40∼50 mN/m in pure water subphase (pH 5.4, $25^{\circ}C$).

  • The displacemant current measuring system used for detecting the dynamic behavior of monolayers at the air-water interface is described. It basically consists of a film balance, a pair of electrodes connected to each other through a sensitive ammeter. Here, one electrode is suspended in air and the other electrode is placed in the water. With Maxwell-displacement-current-measuring method, the phase transitions of Poly-${\gamma}$ -benzyl D-glutamate(PBDG) on a water surface were detected. Measured surface pressure, displacement current and dipole moment of monolayers of PBDG on the water surface. We measured analyzed displacement current that occur when differed temperature. Could know that displacement current is proportional in increase of temperature and great as experiment result.

Soft-Lithographic Fabrication of Ni Nanodots Using Self-Assembled Surface Micelles

  • This study proposes a simple nano-patterning process for the fabrication of magnetic nanodot arrays on a large area substrate. Ni nanodots were fabricated on a large area (4 inches in diameter) Si substrate using the soft lithographic technique using self-assembled surface micelles of Polystyrene-block-Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PS-b-PMMA) diblock copolymer formed at the air/water interface as a mask. The hexagonal array of micelles was successfully transferred to a Ni thin film on a Si substrate using the Langmuir-Blodgett technique. After ion-mill dry etching, a magnetic Ni nanodot array with a regular hexagon array structure was obtained. The Ni nanodot array showed in-plane easy axis magnetization and typical soft magnetic properties.

  • Maxwell-displacement-current (MDC) measuring technique has been applied for the investigation of monolayers of poly(vinyl alcohol)s bearing azobenzene side-chains (6Az5PVA) mixed with p-pentyl-p'-cyano-biphenyls (5CBs) on a water surface. For mixed monolayers containing trans-form 6Az5PVA and LCs, displacement current due to photo isomerization was not generated with alternative photo-irradiation with UV and svisible light. In contrast, for mixed monolaters containing cis-form 6Az5PVA and LCs, displacement current was generated. Finally, it was found that the alignment layers deposited in cis-form could photoregualte the orientation of LCs.

  • Using a solution of polyamic acid salt obtained in combination with polyimide acid, we successfully prepared thermally stable multilayers(41, 35, 31 layers) films disilane-containing polyimide by Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique. We studied the electrically phenomena occurring at the metal(Au)/polyimide(Pl) LB film/metal(Au). Also, we then examined the of Pl LB films by means of current-voltage (I-V) and resistance measurement.

  • The polyimide films were prepared by imidizing the polyamic acid long-chain alkylamine (dimethylhexadecylamine) salt films with a thermal and chemical treatment, where the polyamic acid alkylamine salt film were formed on various substrates by using Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method. The imidization of polyamic acid alkylamine salt films with various thickness were identified with FT-IR and UV-visible absorption spectroscopies. Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) have been used to investigate the surface morpology of polyamic acid alkylamine salt and imidized films.

  • In this paper, evaluation of physical properties was made for dielectric relaxation phenomena by the detection of the surface pressures and displacements current on the monolayer films of fatty acid monomolecular Arachidic Acid, Stearic Acid using compressing velocity. LB(Langmuir-Blodgett) thin films were manufacture by detecting deposition for the accumulation and the current was measured after the electric bias was applied across the manufactured MIM device. The physicochemical properties of the fatty acid monomolecular Arachidic Acid, Stearic Acid films surface structure has been studied by AFM. We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is gas state, liquid state, solid state. Formation that prevent when gas phase state and liquid phase state measure but could know organic matter that molecules form equal and stable film when molecules were not distributed evenly, and accumulated in solid state only.

  • Monolayers of lipids on a water surface have attracted much interest as models of biological membranes, but also as precursors of multilayer systems promising many technical applications. They exhibit very interesting physico-chemical properties as two-dimensional and interfacial systems. Until now, many potential methodologies have been developed in order to gain a better understanding of the relationship between the structure and function of the monolayers.

  • Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) method is one of the ways of fabricating organic ultra thin films. It is well known that It has the advantage to control the alignment and orientation of the molecules in the films. Metallo-phthalocyanines (MPcs) are sensitive to electron affinitive toxic gaseous molecules, such as $NO_2$, NO, $SO_2$. In this study, thin films of octa-dodecyloxy copper-phthalocyanine were prepared by LB method and characterized by using UV/Vis absorption spectroscopy and ellipsometry. Optimal transfer condition of LB films was investigated and preliminary results of current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of these films exposed to $NO_2$ gas as a function of film thickness.

Synthesis of Hexyltriphenylphosphonium-TCNQ Complex and Stability in Spreading Solvent (Hexyltriphenylphonium-TCNQ 착물(錯物)의 합성(合成)과 분산용매 중에서의 안정성)

  • Hexyltriphenylphosphonium-TCNQ(HTPP-TCNQ) complex for preparing organic thin film by Langmuir-Blodgett technique was synthesized from LiTCNQ and Hexyltriphenylphosphonium bromide. The structure of the new complex was confirmed by $^{1}H$ NMR, $^{31}P$ NMR, IR, UV spectroscopies, TGA and elemental analysis. A stability to spreading solvent, which is acetonitrile, ethylacetate, ethanol and acetonitrile-ethylacetate(1:1 v/v), of HTPP-TCNQ complex was investigated by UV-visible spectrophotometer. The complex was stabilized in acetonitrile, ethylacetate, aceton, acetonitrile-ethylacetate (1:1 v/v) for 6 h.
