A Study on the Electrochemical Properties of Langmuir-Blodgett Nano-film Mixed with Polyimide and Phospholipid (폴리이미드와 인지질 혼합물의 나노 Langmuir-Blodgett막의 전기화학적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • We investigated an electrochemical properties for Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) nano-films of polyimide and phospholipid mixture. LB films of polyamic acid and phospholipid monolayer were deposited by the Langmuir-Blodgett method on the indium tin oxide(ITO) glass. The electrochemical properties measured by cyclic voltammetry with three-electrode system(an Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode) in $KClO_4$ solution. The current of reduction and oxidation range was measured from 1650 mV to -1350 mV, continuously. The scan rates were 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 mV/s, respectively. As a result, monolayer LB films of polyamic acid and phospholipid mixture was appeared on irreversible process caused by the reduction current from the cyclic voltammogram. Diffusion coefficient (D) effect in the polyamic acid and phospholipid mixture was used in the LAPC with LLPC fewer than the diffusion coefficient values.

  • Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) 초박막 MIM구조의 소자에서 직류전압이 발생된다는 것은 이미 잘 알려져 있다. 발생전압의 원인은 LB막과 전극사이의 어떤 화학반응에 의한 것으로 보고되었다. 본 논문에서는 1986년에 제작되어 공기중에 방치된 LB 초박막 시료를 대상으로 실험한 결과, 제작 당시와 동일한 크기의 전압이 발생하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이때 LB막과 전극의 두께는 각각 20~30.angs. 및 2000.angs.정도이었다.

LB films of polyimide monolayer were deposited by the Langmuir-Blodgett method on the indium tin oxide(ITO) glass.   • Electron transfer through an Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) monolayer film sandwiched between metal electrodes. We used an eicosanoic acid material and the material was very famous as a thin film insulating material. Eicosanoic acid monolayer was deposited by Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique and a subphase was a $CdCl_2$ solution as a 2${\times}10^{-4}$ mol/L. Also we used a bottom electrode as an Al/$Al_2O_3$ and a top electrode as a Al and Ti/Al. Here, the $Al_2O_3$ on the bottom electrode was deposited by thermal evaporation method. The $Al_2O_3$ layer was acted on a tunneling barrier and insulating layer in tunnel diode. It was found that the proper transfer surface pressure for film deposition was 25 mN/m and the limiting area per molecule was about 24 ${\AA}^2$/molecule. When the positive and negative bias applied to the molecular device, the behavior shows that a tunnel switching characteristics. This result were analyzed regarding various mechanisms.

We tried to measure the electrochemical by using cyclic voltammetry with three-electrode system(an Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode) in 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 N $NaClO_4$ solution. A measuring range was reduced from initial potential -1350 mV, continuously oxidized to 1650 mV. As a result, LB films of the phospholipid compounds are appeared irreversible process caused by only the oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram. The diffusivity(D) effect of LB films decreased with increasing of phospholipid compound amount.

The alkyl bromides mixture was deposited by using the Langmuir-Blodgett method on the ITO glass. The electrochemical properties measured by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system(an Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode) at various concentrations(0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 N) of $NaClO_4$ solution. A measuring range was reduced from initial potential to -1350 m V, continuously oxidized to 1650 mV. The scan rate was 100 mV/s. As a result, LB films of Cl4, Cl6, and Cl8 mixture monolayers appeared irreversible process caused by only the oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram. The diffusivity(D) effect of LB films decreased with increasing of alkyl bromides amount.

  • Polyamic acid alkylamine (N, N-dimethylhexadecylamine)(PAAS)염을 합성하여 그 합성여부를 확인하였으며 PAAS염의 Langmuir막의 ${\pi}-A$ 등온선 및 표면 전위 특성 등을 조사 하였다. Langmuir-Blodgett법에 의하여 PAAS염의 LB막을 여러종류의 기관에 누적하였으며 누적여부를 자외선 흡수 스펙트럼 및 적외선 투과 스펙트럼을 이용하여 조사하였다. 그리고 PAAS LB막을 열처리에 의하여 이미드(imide)화시켜 폴리이미드 LB막을 제조하였으며 그 이미드화 여부를 자외선 및 적외선 스펙트럼을 이용하여 조사하였다.

  • Brewster angle microscopy(BAM) makes it possible to observe the monolayer states on the water subphase and the phase transitions from a gaseous phase via a expanded phase to a condensed phase. Also BAM can be used to observe the films on the solid substrate such as Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films. In this Paper Polyamic Acid Alkylamine Salts(PAAS) was used for forming L films and LB films and $\pi$-A isotherm showed pressure of each phase. We obtained BAM images as surface pressure increased. Images of LB films were compared with data from ellipsometry which was used to measure the film thickness. Images of both L films and LB films were analyzed with computer in the point of brightness.

  • Electroluminescence(EL) devices based on organic thin films have attracted lots of interests in large-area light-emitting display. Recently, many EL researcher have interested a new emissive organic material. In this study, light-emitting organic electroluminescent devices were fabricated using Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique with new emissive organic material. This new emissive organic material were synthesis by our teams and we called PECCP [poly(3,6-N-2ethylhexyl carbazoly cyanoterephthalidene)] which has strong electron donor group and electron acceptor group in main chain repeat unit. This material has good solubility in common organic solvent such as chloroform. THF, etc. and has a good stability in air. In here, the new emissive material is applied to Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) method because our new material has a good stability in air. Optimum conditions of film deposition were examined by a surface pressure-area( $\pi$ -A) isotherms with various factors. The LB film were deposited on a indium Tin Oxide(ITO) glass. We were investigated by measuring current-voltage(I-V) characteristics. Also we were measured the UV/visible absorption at about 410nm and PL spectrum at about 530nm. We are attempt to the electroluminescence device properties of the new emissive material by Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique.
