  • 본 논문에서는 혈당측정기 제작에 있어 PDMS(Su-8)를 이용하였다. 이는 일종의 고분자로서 기계적 특성이 우수하고 제작이 간단하며, 가격이 저렴하고 다른 물질과의 접합이 용이하다. 혈액의 펌핑과 믹싱을 할 수 있도록 새로운 구조체를 설계하였으며 제안된 모델의 핵심 부분인 측정전극의 제작에 필요한 기초적인 실험을 수행하였다. 측정전극의 성능향상과 제작편의성, 저가격화를 위해 효소고정화방법으로 Electrospinning (전기방사)으로 제조된 PVA nanofiber web을 이용하였으며, 이는 중합도 Pn=1700, 비누화도 98%인 공업용으로 상용화된 값싼 제품이다. 따라서 이를 이용하면 측정용 전극의 효소고정화에 있어 저가격화를 이룰 수 있을 것으로 기대된다 고정화된 전극분석을 위해 SEM(주사전자현미경)과 NMR(핵자기공명분광계), FT-IR(적외선분광분석)장비를 사용하였다. 그리고 기존의 효소고정화법(전기중합법)과의 응답특성을 비교분석하였다.

  • 미세 유체 제어 시스템 (마이크로 펌프, 마이크로 밸브, 마이크로 채널, 마이크로 믹서 등)의 집적은 화학 및 바이오 유체를 제어하는 Lab-on-a-chip 의 일부분으로서 사용되며 이러한 시스템의 집적은 Lab-on-a-chip 개발을 위해 필수적으로 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 microchip을 구현하기 위해서 초미세 유체 제어 소자인 마이크로 펌프와 마이크로 밸브를 같은 기판 위에 Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)와 indium tin oxade (ITO)를 사용하여 집적하였다. 그리고 밸브의 반복 작동 시 계속적인 유량의 감소를 줄이기 위해 PDMS 의 혼합비를 달리하여 PDMS membrane 의 기계적 특성을 강화시켰다.

Rapid Detection for Salmonella spp. by Ultrafast Real-time PCR Assay (Ultrafast Real-time PCR법을 이용한 살모넬라의 신속 검출)

  • Salmonella continue to be a major cause of food poisoning worldwide. The rapid detection method of food-borne Salmonella is an important food safety tool. A real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) has been used as a rapid method for the detection of pathogens. It has been recently reported that NBS LabChip real-time PCR is a novel, ultrafast, and chip-type-convenient real-time PCR system. We developed the assay method based on NBS LabChip real-time PCR for the rapid detection of Salmonella, which its reaction time was within 20 minutes. Two target genes (invA and stn) were selected to design target specific primers and probes. The new method was validated by checking specificity and sensitivity (limit of detection). This study included forty-two target and twenty-one non-target strains to assess the specificity. This assay was able to identify the 42 Salmonella strains correctly. The limit of detection (LOD) was $10^1copies/{\mu}L$ in Salmonella genomes DNA, while LOD incubated for 4 hr in the inoculated sausage sample ranged from $10^1CFU/g$ to $10^2CFU/g$ as an inoculated cell count. The assay developed in this study could be applied for the investigation of food poisoning pathogens.

  • 마이크로 / 나노 바이오 기술은 생명공학 및 의약기술의 발전을 가능하게 하고 생체시스템 관련 연구를 위한 마이크로 및 나노 기기를 제작할 수 있게 함으로써 새로운 기술적 영역으로 부각되고 있다. 이러한 기술은 1990년대 초에 랩온어칩(Lab-on-a-chip)의 개발을 가능하게 하였다. 랩온어칩은 실험실(Lab)을 하나의 소자(Chip)에 올려놓는다(On)는 말로 쉽게 설명된다. 즉, 생물학이나 생화학 실험실에서 주로 연구되는 단백질, 세포 등 인체에 영향을 주는 다양한 물질들이 체내외에서 나타내는 반응을 쉽게 검출, 분석하는 일련의 과정들을 빠르고 정확하게 수행할 수 있도록 도와주는 도구인셈이다.(중략)

  • This paper presents a signal processing IC for digital HDTV, which is designed to operate in bunt-in HDW or in HD-set-top Box. The chip supports de-multiplexing an ISO/IEC 13818-1 MPEG-2 TS stream. It decodes MPEG-2 MP@HL video bitstream, and provides high-quality scaled video for display on HDTV monitor. The chip consists of ARM7TDMI for TS-Demux, PCI interface, Audio interface, MPEG2 MP@HL video decoder Display processor, Graphic processor, Memory controller, Audio int3face, Smart Card interface and UART. It is fabricated using Sam sung's 0.18-um and the package of 492-pin BGA is used.

SCATOMi : Scheduling Driven Circuit Partitioning Algorithm for Multiple FPGAs using Time-multiplexed, Off-chip, Multicasting Interconnection Architecture

  • FPGA-based logic emulator with lane gate capacity generally comprises a large number of FPGAs connected in mesh or crossbar topology. However, gate utilization of FPGAs and speed of emulation are limited by the number of signal pins among FPGAs and the interconnection architecture of the logic emulator. The time-multiplexing of interconnection wires is required for multi-FPGA system incorporating several state-of-the-art FPGAs. This paper proposes a circuit partitioning algorithm called SCATOMi(SCheduling driven Algorithm for TOMi)for multi-FPGA system incorporating four to eight FPGAs where FPGAs are interconnected through TOMi(Time-multiplexed, Off-chip, Multicasting interconnection). SCATOMi improves the performance of TOMi architecture by limiting the number of inter-FPGA signal transfers on the critical path and considering the scheduling of inter-FPGA signal transfers. The performance of the partitioning result of SCATOMi is 5.5 times faster than traditional partitioning algorithms. Architecture comparison show that the pin count is reduced to 15.2%-81.3% while the critical path delay is reduced to 46.1%-67.6% compared to traditional architectures.

  • With the development of micrototal analysis systems (${\mu}TAS$), which is a result of enhancement of MEMS technology, rapid progress has been achieved in medical and biological research. The study of lab-on-a-chip (LOC) devices, which are types of ${\mu}TAS$ and which integrate the functions of mixing and analyzing tiny amounts of samples and reagents on one chip, has actively progressed. An LOC comprises microfluidic components such as micromixers and micropumps. Because the flow in a microfluidic system is generally laminar, it is very difficult to efficiently mix and feed fluid reagents. This paper presents the design and the method of fabrication of an MHD micropump for mixing fluids. By using this micropump, fluids are simultaneously mixed and pumped; this is achieved by coupling the Lorentz force and force exerted by an electric charge moving in an electric field.

  • A design of digital position control system with DC Motor is presented. The digital position control system is constructed by power circuits, interface circuits and control circuits using single chip microprocessor (8096). All control functions are implemented on the 16 bit micro-processor requiring only on incremental encoder for speed and position sensing. The control schemes are used by the proportional control for some modifications and braking algorithms. This digital position system offered to the fast response, good steady-state accuracy, flexibility and reliability, Hardware, software features and experimental results of this system are described.

Study on the Estimation of Drying Time of Biomass : 1. Larch Wood Chip

  • This study aims at modeling the rotary drying of wood chips in co-current mode and estimating the drying time of larch (Larix kaemferi) wood chip. Drying data were obtained in a lab. scale fixed bed dryer operating with an air velocity of 1 m/sec. and at hot air inlet temperatures of $100^{\circ}C$, $200^{\circ}C$, and $300^{\circ}C$. The lab. scale fixed-bed drying rates for small, medium and large size larch wood chips that had been dried from 40% wet-based moisture content (MC) to 10% MC at $200^{\circ}C$ drying temperature were 17.3 %/min., 10.2 %/min. and 5.5 %/min., respectively. It was predicted that larch large size wood chips could be dried from 40% MC to 10% MC in about 23.0, 34.6, and 44.7 minutes at $300^{\circ}C$, $200^{\circ}C$ and $150^{\circ}C$, respectively. Expected drying times for medium size chips were about 8.6, 11.2 and 13.2 minutes and those for small size chips were 4.3, 5.5 and 6.4 minutes, respectively.
