Sodium nitrite is widely used as one of the popular corrosion inhibitors for the protection of ferrous metal in closed cooling water system, such as a diesel engine and a chiller. The optimum treatment conditions are studied through laboratory tests using linear polarization resistance (LPR) technique. Corrosion rate of the carbon steel electrode could be maintained less than $2.5{\times}10^{-3}$ mmpy in the test condition of 500 ppm as ${NO_2}^-$, 200 ppm as $Cl^-$, $70^{\circ}C$ and pH 6.8. The pH control is confirmed not to be an important factor in the protection of carbon steel by sodium nitrite inhibitor. The addition of tolyltriazole was needed for the protection of the copper alloy in the sodium nitrite treatment system.
Several reinforced concrete structures that get deteriorated by rebar corrosion are retrofitted using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP). When rebar comes in direct contact with CFRP, rebar may corrode, as iron is more active than carbon. Progression of corrosion of rebar in strengthened RC structures has been carried out when rebar comes in direct contact with CFRP. The experimentation is carried out in two phases. In phase I, corrosion of bare steel bar is monitored by making its contact with CFRP. In phase II, concrete specimens with surface bonded CFRP were casted and subjected to the realistic exposure conditions keeping direct contact between rebar and CFRP. Progression of corrosion has been monitored by various parameters: Half-cell potential, Tafel extrapolation and Linear Polarisation Resistance. On termination of exposure, to find residual bond stress between rebar and concrete, pull-out test was performed. Rebar in contact with CFRP has shown substantially higher corrosion. The level of corrosion will be more with more area of contact.

Twenty-one monoclonal anti-DNA autoantilndies were produced by fusing spleen cells from an autoimmune MRL/lpr mouse with SP2/0 myeloma cells. Hybridomas generated by the fusions were chosen for cloning on the basis of DNA binding by supernatant antibody. Each monoclonal antibody was purified to homogeneity and analyzed for the heavy and light chain isotypes and the binding specificity for single-stranded DNA, double-stranded DNA, and RNA. Sequence specificities and isoelectric points of the antibodies were also examined. All of the antibodies were lgG and tended to bind to both single-stranded and double-stranded DNA with a preference for the double-stranded form. Some of them also bound to RNA. Isoelectric points of the antibodies were shown to be high. The antibodies described in this report have characteristics of pathogenic anti-DNA antibodies.

최근에 차량수의 증가로 인하여 교통량이 증가하고 그로 인하여 ITS(Intelligent Transport System)에 대한 관심이 증가하게 되었다. 그 중에서도 LPR system(License Plate Recognition system)은 ITS에서 중요한 역할을 한다.
Automatic license plate recognition (LPR) is one of the critical techniques of the intelligent transportation system (ITS), in which license plate location plays an important role. In this paper, through surveying the international existing techniques, a new method for locating license plate is proposed: utilize row scan method to locate up and down boundary of the plate; and based on the location of up and down boundary, take advantage of the feature of plate area to locate left and right boundary of the plate. The tests of using the proposed algorithms have been conducted. The experimental results show that the proposed approaches are reasonable and accurate.
A new organic Schiff base compound N-benzylidene-2,5-dichloroaniline (BDC) was synthesized and the structure of the Schiff base is illuminated by some spectroscopic techniques. In addition, whether it is an applicable inhibitor in the industrial field was examined by conventional methods such as linear polarization resistance (LPR), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization for different concentrations. The BDC concentration and temperature effects were surveyed for elucidating the inhibitive mechanism. The BDC molecules are adsorbed to surface of mild steel via the Langmuir isotherm. Atomic force (AFM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) techniques were utilized to give insight into surface characterization.
Five dogs were used to determine whether 0.1% tacrolimus ointment application for one day would inhibit IgE-mediated late-phase reactions (LPRs). It was consisted of three periods: one period without therapeutic administration (control) and two periods of treatment with either the tacrolimus ointment or vehicle. Induction of IgE-mediated LPRs was induced by intradermal injections of 0.05 ml (0.14 mg/ml) of solution of goat anti-canine IgE polyclonal antibodies. Each section for mast cells (MCs) and eosinophils (EPs) was stained with acidified toluidine blue, and Luna's stain, respectively. Assessment of anti-inflammatory effect of tacrolimus ointment composed of cell counts of MC and EP from lesions of induced LPR. In normal canine biopsies, the number of dermal MCs and EPs were $12.3{\pm}1.4cells/mm^2$ and $3.1{\pm}1.3cells/mm^2$, respectively. MC counts dramatically decreased at time dependent manner after anti-IgE administration. However, the number of MCs on 6 hours after challenge was significantly less decreased in the groups treated with the tacrolimus, as compared with control and vehicle group. The number of EPs on 24 hours after challenge was significantly lower in the group treated with the tacrolimus than in the control and vehicle groups. In conclusion, this study revealed that 0.1% tacrolimus ointment in dogs may exert a potent anti-inflammatory effect on inhibition of MC degranulation and also secondary prevention of EP infiltration during LPR.
In this paper, we propose a low-cost license plate recognition system based on smart cam system using Android. The proposed system consists of a portable device and server. Potable device Hardware consists of ARM Cortex-A9 (S5PV210) processor control unit, a power supply device, wired and wireless communication, input/output unit. We develope Linux kernel and dedicated device driver for WiFi module and camera. The license plate recognition algorithm is consisted of setting candidate plates areas with canny edge detector, extracting license plate number with Labeling, recognizing with template matching, etc. The number that is recognized by the device is transmitted to the remote server via the user mobile phone, and the server re-transfer the vehicle information in the database to the portable device. To verify the utility of the proposed system, user photographs the license plate of any vehicle in the natural environment. Confirming the recognition result, the recognition rate was 95%. The proposed system was suitable for low cost portable license plate recognition device, it enabled the stability of the system when used long time by using the Android operating system.

In general LPR(License Plate Recognition) in outdoor image is not so simple differently from in the image captured from manmade environment, because of geometric shape distortion and large illumination changes. this paper proposes three techniques for LPR in outdoor images captured from CCTV. At first, a serially connected multi-stage Adaboost LP detector is proposed, in which different complementary features are used. In the proposed detector the performance is increased by the Haar-like Adaboost LP detector consecutively connected to the MB-LBP based one in serial manner. In addition the technique is proposed that makes image processing easy by the prior determination of LP type, after correction of geometric distortion of LP image. The technique is more efficient than the processing the whole LP image without knowledge of LP type in that we can take the appropriate color to gray conversion, accurate location for separation of text/numeric character sub-images, and proper parameter selection for image processing. In the proposed technique we use DBN(Deep Belief Network) to achieve a robust character recognition against stroke loss and geometric distortion like slant due to the incomplete image processing.

The license plate recognition (LPR) unit consists of the following core components: plate region segmentation, individual character extraction, and character recognition. Out of the above three components, accuracy in the performance of plate region segmentation determines the overall recognition rate of the LPR unit. This paper proposes an algorithm for segmenting the license plate region on the front or rear of a vehicle in a fast and accurate manner. In the case of the proposed algorithm images are captured on the spot where unmanned monitoring of illegal parking and stowage is performed with a variety of roadway environments taken into account. As a means of enhancing the segmentation performance of the on-the-spot-captured images of license plate regions, the proposed algorithm uses a mathematical model for license plate colors to convert color images into digital data. In addition, this algorithm uses Gaussian smoothing and double threshold to eliminate image noises, one-pass boundary tracing to do region labeling, and MBR to determine license plate region candidates and extract individual characters from the determined license plate region candidates, thereby segmenting the license plate region on the front or rear of a vehicle through a verification process. This study contributed to addressing the inability of conventional techniques to segment the license plate region on the front or rear of a vehicle where the frame of the license plate is damaged, through processing images in a real-time manner, thereby allowing for the practical application of the proposed algorithm.
