불안장애에서 정서처리와 관련된 ERP 성분 (ERP Components Associated with Emotional Processing in Anxiety Disorder)

  • This article aimed to describe typical event-related potentials (ERP) components of emotional processing in patients with anxiety disorder and highly anxious individuals. ERP components associated with emotional processing could be broadly divided into three components with short, middle and long, respectively. Many studies show that patients with anxiety disorders are characterized by different emotional bias to specific stimuli and more sensitive to emotional stimuli than normal individuals. In addition, these emotional biases were stronger and quicker in patients with anxiety disorder than normal individuals. Some studies reported that anxious people show abnormality at the initial stage (e.g. P1) of emotional processing. However, other studies reported the abnormality at the late stage (e.g. LPP) or wholeness of emotional processing in anxious individuals. We summarized the updated finding of possible ERP components of emotional processing in patients with anxiety disorder and highly anxious individuals. The significance and clinical implication were discussed.

모형 가스터빈 연소기내 연소불안정성에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Combustion Instability Mechanism in a Dump Gas Turbine Combustor)

  • The knowledge of flame structure is essential for control of combustion instability phenomena. Some results of an experimental study on mechanism of naturally occurring combustion oscillations with a single dominant frequency are presented. Tests were conducted in a laboratory-scale dump combustor at atmospheric pressure. Sound level meter was used to track the pressure wave inside the combustor. The observed instability was a longitudinal mode with a frequency of $\sim341.8Hz$. Instability map was obtained at the condition of inlet temperature of $360^{\circ}C$, mean velocities of $8.5\sim10.8m/s$ and well premixed mixture. It showed that combustion instability was susceptible to occur in the lean conditions. In this study, unstable flame was observed from stoichiometric to 0.7 in overall equivalence ratio. At selected unstable conditions, phase-resolved OH chemiluminescence images were captured to investigate flame structure with various mean velocities. As mean velocity is increased, the flame grows and global heat release was changed. Due to these effects, combustion instability can be maintained at more lean air-fuel ratio. Also, these results give an insight to the controlling mechanism for an increasing heat release at maximum pressure.

Hydro-structural issues in the design of ultra large container ships

  • The structural design of the ships includes two main issues which should be checked carefully, namely the extreme structural response (yielding & buckling) and the fatigue structural response. Even if the corresponding failure modes are fundamentally different, the overall methodologies for their evaluation have many common points. Both issues require application of two main steps: deterministic calculations of hydro-structure interactions for given operating conditions on one side and the statistical post-processing in order to take into account the lifetime operational profile, on the other side. In the case of ultra large ships such as the container ships and in addition to the classical quasi-static type of structural responses the hydroelastic structural response becomes important. This is due to several reasons among which the following are the most important: the increase of the flexibility due to their large dimensions (Lpp close to 400 m) which leads to the lower structural natural frequencies, very large operational speed (> 20 knots) and large bow flare (increased slamming loads). The correct modeling of the hydroelastic ship structural response, and its inclusion into the overall design procedure, is significantly more complex than the evaluation of the quasi static structural response. The present paper gives an overview of the different tools and methods which are used in nowadays practice.

Modified $A^*$ - 방향별 속도지도를 활용한 무인차량의 지역경로계획 (Modified $A^*$ - Local Path Planning Method using Directional Velocity Grid Map for Unmanned Ground Vehicle)

  • It is necessary that UGV(Unmanned Ground Vehicle) should generate a real-time travesability index map by analyzing raw terrain information to travel autonomously tough terrain which has various slope and roughness values. In this paper, we propose a local path planning method, $MA^*$(Modified $A^*$) algorithm, using DVGM (Directional Velocity Grid Map) for unmanned ground vehicle. We also present a path optimization algorithm and a path smoothing algorithm which regenerate a pre-planned local path by $MA^*$ algorithm into the reasonable local path considering the mobility of UGV. Field test is conducted with UGV in order to verify the performance of local path planning method using DVGM. The local path planned by $MA^*$ is compared with the result of $A^*$ to verify the safety and optimality of proposed algorithm.

  • The electrical insulating design is important to realize a HTS power cable because the cable is operated under the high voltage environment. For the insulation design of a HTS power cable, it is necessary to investigate the AC, impulse breakdown and partial discharge(PD) inception stress of liquid nitrogen/LPP composite insulation system. Based on these results, the electrical insulation of a HTS power cable is designed and Mini-model cables are manufactured. The manufactured Mini-model cables are evaluated that AC, impulse withstand voltage, breakdown and partial discharge inception stress and analyzed characteristics insulation of HTS cable bending condition according to this paper. From these tests, the AC, impulse withstand voltage test and partial discharge inception stress is satisfied "standard technical specification of KEPCO" in Korea and the breakdown voltage was 120kV.

  • For the insulation design of a HTS cable, the withstand voltage of three kinds were proposed. One of them is the AC design withstand voltage, another is the impulse design withstand voltage, and the other is the partial discharge inception stress. However, the multi-layered effect was not considered on insulation design of a HTS cable at existent design process. Therefore in this paper, the electrical breakdown characteristics by multi-layered effect of LPP insulation paper were investigated. Based on these results, the insulation thickness of 22.9 kV class HTS cable was designed, and compared with existent design process.

Motion Behavior of Platform Supply Vessels Running Under Regular Wave Conditions in RANS Model

  • This study performed a numerical analysis of a 3D unsteady viscous flow in order to investigate ship motion responses running through regular waves of the platform supply vessel. The feasibility of numerical analysis was tested under the three regular wave conditions of the KRISO container ship (KCS) suggested at the 2010 Gothenburg CFD Workshop. The resulting resistance coefficient, heave motion, and pitch angle were compared with the model test of the harmonic analysis. Also, the ship motion response characteristics of the platform supply vessel were performed using the proven method of the KRISO container ship (KCS). The ship motions including the resistance coefficient, heave motion, and pitch angle according to the time series were investigated via harmonic analysis under regular waves condition of ${\lambda}/LPP=1.87$ and $H_S=0.078m$.

An analytical model of the additional confining stress in a prestress-reinforced embankment

  • Using a device composed of two lateral pressure plates (LPPs) and a steel reinforcement bar to apply horizontal pressure on slope surfaces, a newly developed prestress-reinforced embankment (PRE) is proposed, to which can be adopted in strengthening railway subgrades. In this study, an analytical model, which is available of calculating additional confining stress (σH) at any point in a PRE, was established based on the theory of elasticity. In addition, to verify the proposed analytical model, three dimensional (3D) finite element analyses were conducted and the feasibility in application was also identified and discussed. In order to study the performance of the PRE, the propagation of σH in a PRE was analyzed and discussed based on the analytical model. For the aim of convenience in application, calculation charts were developed in terms of three dimensionless parameters, and they can be used to accurately and efficiently predict the σH in a PRE regardless of the embankment slope ratio and LPP side length ratio. Finally, the potential applications of the proposed analytical model were discussed.

FPSO 안정성 평가를 위한 절단계류선 모델링 수치 연구 (Numerical Study on Designing Truncated Mooring Lines for FPSO Stability Analysis)

  • In this paper, a numerical analysis for an internal turret moored vessel located at a 400-m water depth is conducted. The target vessel has an internal turret that is located at the 0.2 Lpp position from the fore-side, with $3{\times}4$ complex mooring lines installed around the turret circumference. To investigate the motion response of the vessel and the structural reliability of the lines, model tests were conducted. The KRISO ocean basin has a water depth of 3.2 m, which represents 192m using a scaling of 1:60. In order to precisely represent the real-scale condition, equivalent mooring lines needed to be designed. Truncated mooring lines were designed to supplement the restriction of the flume's water depth and increase the reliability of the model testing. These truncated mooring lines were composed of two different chains in order to match the pre-tension, simultaneously restoring the curve and variation in the effective line tension. The static similarities were compared using a static pull-out test and free decaying test, and the dynamic similarities were matched via a regular wave test and combined environments test. Consequently, the designed truncated mooring system could represent the prototype mooring system relatively well in the aspects of kinematics and dynamics.

Can pterygoid plate asymmetry be linked to temporomandibular joint disorders?

  • Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate the relationship between pterygoid plate asymmetry and temporomandibular joint disorders. Materials and Methods: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images of 60 patients with temporomandibular disorders (TMD) involving pain were analyzed and compared with images of 60 age-and gender-matched controls. Three observers performed linear measurements of the lateral pterygoid plates. Results: Statistically significant differences were found between measurements of the lateral pterygoid plates on the site that had pain and the contralateral site (p<0.05). The average length of the lateral pterygoid plates (LPPs) in patients with TMD was $17.01{\pm}3.64mm$ on the right side and $16.21{\pm}3.51mm$ on the left side, and in patients without TMD, it was $11.86{\pm}1.97mm$ on the right side and $11.98{\pm}1.85mm$ on the left side. Statistically significant differences in the LPP length, measured on CBCT, were found between patients with and without TMD (p<0.05). The inter-examiner reliability obtained in this study was very high for all the examiners (0.99, 95% confidence interval: 0.98-0.99). Conclusion: Within the limits of the present study, CBCT lateral pterygoid plate measurements at the side with TMD were found to be significantly different from those on the side without TMD. More research is needed to explore potential etiological correlations and implications for treatment.
