A Structural Analysis of the KSTAR Cryostat (KSTAR 저온진공용기 구조해석)

  • KSTAR cryostat is a large vacuum vessel that provides the necessary thermal barrier between the ambient temperature test cell and the liquid helium cooled magnets. In this work, the structural analyses for the cryostat under the normal operation condition were performed. As a result, it turns out that the vessel would be safe when it is exposed to normal operation loads, such as system weight, vacuum pressure, and plasma vertical disruption load. And, the preliminary result on the modal analysis is presented.

  • A vibration excitation system was designed and built of forced vibration experiments for using stepping motor and load cell. The identified flutter derivatives of the thin-plate acrylic model were very close to the analytical results of the idealized plate presented by Theodorsen. Five types of sectional models were tested in the wind tunnel using the proposed forced vibration method. To investigate the frequency, amplitude and angle of attack effects on flutter derivatives.

  • Main PDP panel efficacy improvement factors are discussed. A large panel efficacy improvement can be obtained through a combination of discharge efficiency improvement and phosphor improvement. Important design elements are a high Xe-content gas mixture, the application of a $TiO_2-layer$, and a new green phosphor with little saturation at high VUV-load. In a 4-inch color test panel with a conventional stripe-type cell configuration a white efficacy of 4.4 lm/W and a luminance of 5000 $cd/m^2$ is obtained for sustaining at 250V in addressed condition.

  • NATM technic had been applied to Nakaya tunnel of Sin kan express R.R lines in 1975. on the worst expandable geological conditions, application of NATM method was carried out good result. Measurement data which include convergencymeter, inclinometer, extensometor load-cell, strain gage data of shotcrete stress and steel arch. was explained with slides. Induced NATM technic has been improved since 1975 as follows, specially adhesive method of shotcrete instead of spray method such as tunnel swift lining Sliding press lining, clean lining by pumping and sweeping tote lining ets.

The Effect of Train Motion on Current Collection in High-speed Train

  • The safety performance of the current collection system is evaluated by conducting a test run in which accelerometer and load cell signals are analyzed. It has been found that the current collection performance is strongly influenced by the train speed, with the major frequency components arising from the train traversing the span spacing and the 8.5 Hz component originating from the panhead resonance. The train acceleration is found to have significant influence on the span passing frequency but negligible effect on the resonant response.

  • For very large multimedia traffic to be supported successfully in wireless network environment, it is necessary to provide Quality-of-Service(QoS) guarantees between mobile hosts(clients). In order to guarantee the Qos, we have to keep the call blocking probability below target value during handoff session. However, the QoS negotiated between the client and the network may not be guaranteed due to lack of available channels for traffic in the new cell, since mobile clients should be able to continue their on-going sessions. In this paper we propose a efficient load-balancing algorithm based on the adaptive bandwidth reservation scheme for enlarging available channels in a cell. We design a new method to predict the mobility of clients using MPT(mobility profile table). This method is then used to reserve a part of bandwidths for handoff calls to its adjacent cells and this reserved bandwidth can be used for handoff call prior to new connection requests. If the number of free channels is also under a low threshold value, our scheme use a load-balancing algorithm with a adaptive bandwidth reservation. In order to evaluate the performance of our algorithm, we measure the metrics such as the blocking probability of new calls and dropping probability of handoff calls, and compare with other existing schemes.
