Gas Fuelled Ship용 재기화 시스템의 Eglycol Water 혼합비율에 따른 시스템 특성분석 (An analysis on the characteristics of regasification system for gas fuelled ship depending on the mixing ratio of eglycol and water)

  • 최근 대기오염 방지를 위한 각종 규정들이 강화되고, 연료유 가격의 상승으로 인해 LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas)를 선박의 추진연료로 사용하는 Gas Fuelled Ship의 등장은 필연적이게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 Gas Fuelled Ship에서 연료로 사용되는 LNG를 DF(Dual-Fuel)엔진에 공급하기 전 기화 시켜주기 위해 Eglycol water(Ethylene glycol water)를 가열매체로 사용한 재기화 시스템을 구성하고, Eglycol과 물의 혼합비율에 따른 시스템 특성을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. DF엔진으로 공급되는 천연가스의 압력과 온도 그리고 유량이 일정하게 유지될 때 Eglycol의 혼합비율이 증가할수록 Eglycol water의 혼합비열이 낮아지게 되면서 물만을 사용했을 때와 대비하여 1.65배 많은 cycle 유량과 1.54배의 펌프 소요 동력이 요구됨을 확인하였고, vaporizer의 크기를 고정한 후 Eglycol의 혼합비에 따른 DF엔진으로 공급되는 천연가스의 온도 및 vaporizer 출구측 Eglycol water의 온도를 산정하였다.

  • This study was conducted to calculate the LCC of a apartment complex with a type of heating system, district heating and cogeneration system. For the purpose of analyzing LCC according to size of apartment complex, 500, 1,500 and 4,000 houses of model apartment selected. This research performs design of heating system and the life cycle cost analysis including an initial cost, energy cost, maintenance and operation cost, replacement cost and renovation cost during the project period(15years). According to the calculated results, 1) Initial cost of cogeneration system with 500, 1500 and 4000 houses is higher than district heating system each of 20%, 13%, 12%. 2) In case of cogeneration system, the payback period by electric generation is 5.21, 4.92 and 4.47 years and saving cost was calculated 29 billion won, 94 billion won and 262 billion won after payback period. 3) Cogeneration system LCC was 1.12, 1.07 and 1.06 times larger than district system with the size of apartment complex. According to the case of this study district heating system is more efficient than cogeneration system in terms of the reduction of LCC. 4) Gas Engine Co-generation System is more efficient than other systems because it can collect progressive part from electric charge progressive stage system. However, the efficiency is decreasing because of raising of fuel bills(LNG) and lowering of power rate for house use. Especially the engine is foreign-made so the cost of maintenance and repair is high and the technical expert is short. 5) District heating is also affected by fuel bills so we should improve energy efficiency through recovering of waste heat(incineration heat, etc.). Also, we should supply district cooling on the pattern of heat using of let the temperature high in winter and low in summer.

도시(都市)가스 계량(計量) 편차(偏差) 및 해소방안(解消方案)에 관(關)한 소고(小考) (A Study on the Discrepancies of Gas Measurement and the Solution Measures between Suppliers and Consumers in South Korea)

  • 한국가스공사는 1983년 가스의 안정적인 공급을 위해 특별법에 의거 설립되었으며 30개 지역의 가스소매를 담당하는 도시가스회사에 천연가스 도매공급을 전담하고 있다. 가스공사가 수입하는 가스의 측정방식은 LNG 하역 전후의 수송선 액위를 측정함으로써 계량한다. 이때 가스성분분석은 수입가스의 가격이 열량에 의해 산정되기 때문에 필수적이다. 또한 터빈미터는 도시가스사로 공급하는 가스의 계량에 널리 쓰이고 있다. 그러나 발전용으로 공급되는 가스의 계량설비와는 달리 도시가스사로 공급되는 가스를 계량하는 설비에는 가스요금이 열량에 의해서가 아니라 부피에 의해서 부과되기 때문에 가스성분을 측정하는 분석기가 없다. 따라서 도시가스사가 가스공사로부터 구입하는 가스양과 소비자에게 판매하는 가스양이 일치하지 않는 문제점이 발생한다. 그 이유는 소매용 가스미터에 내재하는 오차와 운용상의 문제로 인해 도매용 계량설비와 소매용 가스미터의 수치에는 차이가 있기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 도시가스사와 일반 소비자 간의 실제 가스양에 대한 논쟁에 관해 조사하였으며 가스 계량오차에 관한 문제점을 해소하기 위한 바람직한 기술적, 경제적 정책방향을 제안하는데 중점을 두었다.

가정용 연료전지 시스템의 요금 분석을 통한 최적 운전 방법 검토 (Study on Optimization of Operation in household Fuel Cell System)

  • Despite the high efficiency and eco-friendly of Household Fuel Cell System it has hardly obtained popularity mainly due to its high prices. In order to encourage use of the system prices and operational expenses need to become economical. In this study, optimization through simulation was conducted to find out the optimal operational condition. As a result of simulation the system is operated with DSS operation from 5 O'clock to 19 O'clock for 14 hours at the constant output of 0.4kW to maximize reduction of energy rate. this DSS operation condition can reduce 200,000 won of energy rates in 35 pyoung apartment for a year. And, we can know that starting time of DSS operation don't effect to energy rates through the simulation. Furthermore, the household fuel cell system with the rated output of 1kW should be reduced to 0.4 - 0.6kW which can promote installation of household Fuel Cell System. Now, the household fuel cell system don't have been used widely due to economical efficiency. but, in the near future, Fuel Cell will be used to household by decrease of LNG price caused by development of shale gas.

Investigation of Applying Technical Measures for Improving Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) for KCS and KVLCC2

  • While extensive research is being conducted to reduce greenhouse gases in industrial fields, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has implemented regulations to actively reduce CO2 emissions from ships, such as energy efficiency design index (EEDI), energy efficiency existing ship index (EEXI), energy efficiency operational indicator (EEOI), and carbon intensity indicator (CII). These regulations play an important role for the design and operation of ships. However, the calculation of the index and indicator might be complex depending on the types and size of the ship. Here, to calculate the EEDI of two target vessels, first, the ships were set as Deadweight (DWT) 50K container and 300K very large crude-oil carrier (VLCC) considering the type and size of those ships along with the engine types and power. Equations and parameters from the marine pollution treaty (MARPOL) Annex VI, IMO marine environment protection committee (MEPC) resolution were used to estimate the EEDI and their changes. Technical measures were subsequently applied to satisfy the IMO regulations, such as reducing speed, energy saving devices (ESD), and onboard CO2 capture system. Process simulation model using Aspen Plus v10 was developed for the onboard CO2 capture system. The obtained results suggested that the fuel change from Marine diesel oil (MDO) to liquefied natural gas (LNG) was the most effective way to reduce EEDI, considering the limited supply of the alternative clean fuels. Decreasing ship speed was the next effective option to meet the regulation until Phase 4. In case of container, the attained EEDI while converting fuel from Diesel oil (DO) to LNG was reduced by 27.35%. With speed reduction, the EEDI was improved by 21.76% of the EEDI based on DO. Pertaining to VLCC, 27.31% and 22.10% improvements were observed, which were comparable to those for the container. However, for both vessels, additional measure is required to meet Phase 5, demanding the reduction of 70%. Therefore, onboard CO2 capture system was designed for both KCS (Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering (KRISO) container ship) and KVLCC2 (KRISO VLCC) to meet the Phase 5 standard in the process simulation. The absorber column was designed with a diameter of 1.2-3.5 m and height of 11.3 m. The stripper column was 0.6-1.5 m in diameter and 8.8-9.6 m in height. The obtained results suggested that a combination of ESD, speed reduction, and fuel change was effective for reducing the EEDI; and onboard CO2 capture system may be required for Phase 5.

퐁력전원이 피크타임과 발전설비구성에 미치는 영향분석: 제3차 신재생에너지 기술개발 및 이용.보급 기본계획 기준 (Wind Power Generation: Its Impact on Peak Time and Future Power Mix)

  • Although renewable power is regarded a way to active response to climate change, the stability of whole power system could be a serious problem in the future due to its uncertainties such as indispatchableness and intermittency. From this perspective, the peak time impact of stochastic wind power generation is estimated using simulation method up to year 2030 based on the 3rd master plan for the promotion of new and renewable energy on peak time. Result shows that the highest probability of wind power impact on peak time power supply could be up to 4.41% in 2030. The impact of wind power generation on overall power mix is also analyzed up to 2030 using SCM model. The impact seems smaller than expectation, however, the estimated investment cost to make up such lack of power generation in terms of LNG power generation facilities is shown to be a significant burden to existing power companies.

우리 나라의 환경정책 방향 (Environmental Health Strategies in Korea)

  • Since 1960's along with industrialization and urbanization, economic growth has been . achieved, however, at the same time, environmental condition has been seriously deteriorated. . Currently, volume of wastewater has been increasing at annual rate of 7% in sewage and 20% in industrial wastewater. However, the nation's sewage treatment serves only 33% of the municipal wastewater as of 1991. Major portion of air pollutants comes from combustion of oil and coal which comprise 81% of total energy use and emission gases from motor vehicles increasing at an accelerated rate. It is known that Korea generates the highest amount of waste per capta. Nevertheless, it is not sufficient to reduce the volume of waste by means of resources recovery and recycling. Recognizing the importance of global environmental problems such as ozone layer depletion, global warming and acid rain, international society has been making various efforts since the 1972 Stockholm conference. In particular, it is expected that the Rio conference which has adopted the Rio declaration and Agenda 21 will form a crucial turning point of the emerging new world order after the Cold War confrontation. To cope with such issues as domestic pollution and global environmental problems, the fundamental national policy aims at harmonizing "environmental protection and sustainable development". The Ministry of Environment has recently set up a mid-term comprehensive plan which includes annual targets for environmental protection. According to the government plan, gradual improvement of various environmental conditions and specific measures to achieve them is planned in time frame. Additional sewage treatment plants will be constructed in urban areas with the target to treat 65% of the nation's municipal sewage by 1996. Supply of clean fuels such as LNG will also be expanded starting from large cities as a cleaner substitute energy for coal and oil. In parallel with expansion of LNG, emphasis will be placed on installation of stack monitoring system. Due to the relatively limited land, government's basic policy for solid waste treatment is to develop large scale landfill facilities rather than small sized ones. Thirty three regional areas have been designated for the purpose of waste management. For each of these regions, big scale landfill site is going to be developed. To increase the rate of waste recycling the government is planning to reinforce separate collection system and to provide industries with economic incentives. As a part of meeting the changing situation on global environmental problems after UNCED, and accommodation regulatory measures stipulated in the global environmental conventions and protocols, national policy will try to alter industrial and economic structure so as to mitigate the increasing trends of energy consumption, by encouraging energy conservation and efficiency. In this regard, more attention will be given to the policy on the development of the cleaner technology. Ultimately, these policies and programs will contribute greatly to improving the current state of national public health.

상용 소프트웨어를 이용한 스파크 점화 기관의 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구 (Study on the simulation of a spark ignition engine using BOOST)

  • 연료 경제와 유해 배출 가스 저감을 목적으로 최근 들어 LNG 또는 합성 가스를 사용하는 박용 가스 기관이 주목받고 있다. 예혼합 연소를 하는 오토 사이클로 작동하는 가스 기관을 구현할 경우 EGR 또는 SCR을 적용하지 않고도 Tier III의 규제를 충족할 수 있는 것으로 확인되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 오토 사이클로 작동하는 기관에 대한 시뮬레이션 기술을 산업 기술 현장에 제공하기 위한 목적으로, 실험적으로 접근이 용이한 소형 가솔린 기관을 대상으로 상용 소프트웨어인 BOOST를 이용한 시뮬레이션을 시행하였다. 이 연구는 두 단계로 구성되어 이미 시행한 첫 번째 단계에서는 흡기 및 배기 계통에 대한 최적의 모델링 방법에 관한 연구가 수행되었다. 이번 연구는 이전의 연구에서 선정된 흡 배기 계통의 해석 모델을 적용한 상황에서 실린더 내 과정을 해석하고 최종적으로 주요 성능 인자들을 계산하는 방법을 정립하였다. 이 연구를 통하여 실험에의 의존이 적은 연소 및 열전달 모델과 밸브 유량계수 모델을 선정하고 관련 상수들을 결정하는 방법을 확립하였다. 이들을 이용하여 실린더로 유입되는 공기량, 실린더 내 순간 압력 변화 및 도시평균유효압력을 효과적으로 예측할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

해양플랜트 전력시스템의 고조파 비교분석에 관한 연구 (A Comparative Study on Power System Harmonics for Offshore Plants)

  • 해양구조물에 전기 안전사고가 급증하면서 전력시스템 고조파 분야가 최근 많은 관심 받고 있다. 이것은 주로 비선형 (또는 고조파 생성) 부하가 일반적인 산업플랜트 전력시스템에서 계속 증가되고 있기 때문이다. 해양플랜트에서는 전력시스템의 안전설계로 인하여 고조파 문제의 발생률은 낮지만, 고조파 문제에 대한 인식은 전력시스템 설계의 신뢰성을 향상시키는데 여전히 도움이 될 수 있다. 전력시스템에 고조파 문제가 드물게 발생되는 경우, 이는 생성된 고조파의 크기 혹은 전력시스템의 공진 때문이다. 이 고조파 비교분석에 관한 연구는 전력부하를 고려한 부유식 액화천연가스 생산 저장 하역 (FLNG) 설비의 하역 운전 시나리오에 대한 전기적인 구성으로 비교분석하였다. 전기적인 네트워크 구성은 전기적인 네트워크 부하 흐름에서 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 해양플랜트 전력시스템의 안전을 보장하기 위해 전기 모터 시스템의 고조파 효율에 초점을 맞추어 전력시스템 성능을 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하였다. 또한, 본 연구의 설계분야에서도 운전 및 유지 보수의 향상시키기 위해 FLNG 설비의 전력시스템을 분석하였다.
