The study investigated the Integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to the Library and Information Science Curriculum: The Practicum in Library Schools in Rivers State. Descriptive survey design was used with a population 374 comprising 21 LIS educators and 353 Four Hundred Level Library and Information Science Students from University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, and Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Port Harcourt. Census sampling technique was used to select the LIS educators and purposive sampling technique was used to the select the Four Hundred Level LIS students. Questionnaire and checklist were used for data collection. 90% and 97% responses were found valid for analysis for LIS Educators and LIS students respectively. The study was analyzed using mean rating, standard deviation and simple percentage. The study revealed that ICT courses were integrated into LIS curriculum in Library schools in Rivers State but LIS educators lacked the ICT skills to teach ICT practicum consequently, the students were not properly taught ICT practicum. However, students had positive perception of ICT practicum. Notwithstanding, lack of ICT skills, poor policy implementation, lack of state-of-the-art infrastructure and nonchalant attitudes of staff towards the adoption of ICT constituted the challenges faced in the implementation of ICT practicum. The study therefore, recommended that the management of library schools in Rivers State should implement ICT practicum by hiring competent staff maybe from computers science department to teach the practicum for the interim. Subsequently, recruitment of librarians should include strictly ICT compliant.

정보 리터러시와 관련된 인지과정 중심 교육모형(Bloom's taxonomy), 사서 직무교육 내용, 디지털 큐레이션 등에 관한 최근 연구들을 바탕으로 메타리터러시 역량을 도출한다. 웹3.0 정보환경의 상황적 요소를 분석할 수 있는 비판적 사고 능력과 정보 신기술의 적응 능력을 중요한 역량으로 확장시킨 메타리터러시 개념을 기준으로 문헌정보학 전공 대학 커리큘럼을 분석하고 비교한다. 미래지향적 예비 사서의 전문성 배양 측면에서 강조되어야 할 전공 교과목을 진단하고 커리큘럼 개선을 위한 방안을 제시한다.

The goal of this study is to improve the competitiveness of professional librarians in society. To this end, we analyzed domestic and international LIS curriculum, determined demand from field librarians through a survey, carried out job analysis by library types, and developed an operating model for LIS curriculum by synthesizing all of these results. Finally, we suggested a course of study for civil service librarians based on this model. As a result, the six required courses for civil service librarians are: Introduction to Library and Information Science, Information Organization, Information Services (Reference and Information Services), Library Management, Information Retrieval, and Field Work. The four core courses for the civil service concentration are: Collection Development, Information Sources by Subjects, Public Library Management, and Digital Libraries. Suggested electives best suited to this career path include Using Web Resources, Information Literacy, Information Services in Culturally Diverse Communities, Library Marketing, Libraries and Cultural Programs, Reading Guidance, Library History, Small Library Management, Studies in Library Buildings, Library Cooperation, Managing Digital Collections, and Information and Communication in a Digital Age.

본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 문헌정보학계에 iSchool에 대한 학문적 관심을 환기시키고 이를 통해 iSchool에 대한 연구의 시발점을 마련하고자 하는 것이다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 문헌정보학자들과의 심층인터뷰를 진행하였으며 인터뷰자료는 질적 분석 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 우리나라에 iSchool을 도입하기위해서는 교과과정의 개편을 통한 교육의 다변화가 필요하며 iSchool 도입을 통해서는 융, 복합 연구 및 교육의 기회, 현 문헌정보학의 위기 돌파를 위한 외연의 확장, 문헌정보학에 대한 새로운 이미지의 구축이 가능할 것이라는 기대가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 iSchool의 도입은 사서양성 교육기관으로서의 문헌정보학의 정체성마저 위협할 수 있다는 위기의식 또한 존재하는 것으로 나타났다.

Purpose - The purpose of this study was to investigate data aspects in Library and Information Science curricula at all levels in selected African Universities. Design/methodology/approach - A review of existing literature on data aspects and LIS Curricula. Secondly, the study juxtaposed web-based courses for fourteen LIS schools to establish data aspects incorporated into their curricula. Findings - The study's findings found that although many LIS schools have some form of data aspects in curricula, coverage is still very limited and basic.

이 연구는 도서관에서 간접적이고 기술적인 업무로 여겨지는 '자료조직' 영역을 중심으로 우리 교육의 현실을 있는 그대로 드려내 보이기 위한 기초 작업이자 이 영역의 교육방향에 대한 심층적인 논의를 이끌어 내기 위한 발제로서의 목적을 동시에 가지고 있다. 이 연구에서는 먼저 전국의 32개 대학 문헌정보학과에 개설된 교과목 중 자료조직 교과목의 비중과 교육의 주요 내용을 파악하였다. 이어, 우리 학문의 원조가 되어 온 미국의 문헌정보학계에서 진행되어온 자료조직 영역의 교육목표와 기본방향, 그리고 내용에 대한 그간의 논의를 살펴보면서 자료조직과 관련한 우리 교육의 방향에 대해 모색해 보았다. 논의에 필요한 기초데이터는 기존의 국내외 연구는 물론이고 전국 32개 대학의 문헌정보학과의 교과과정과 강의개요 그리고 북미의 주요 문헌정보대학원의 교육목표와 내용 등을 활용하였다.

본 연구는 RDA라는 새로운 목록규칙이 도입되는 국제적인 추세에 따라, 국내의 목록 교육에 있어서 RDA의 내용을 반영하기 위한 고려 사항을 분석하고, 전공 교과로서 RDA를 포함한 목록 교육 모형과 실행 전략을 제시하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 특히 기존의 목록규칙과 RDA가 공존하는 현실에 대한 교수자와 학습자의 인식과 요구를 파악하고자 하였다. 또한 목록 과목에 주어진 시간 제약 속에서 효과적인 교육 내용 구성 및 전달 방식을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 첫째, 현행 문헌정보학 전공 목록 교육의 현황을 RDA와의 관계성 속에서 파악하였다. 둘째, 교육자의 인식과 교육 방안을 파악하기 위하여 RDA 교육에 관한 교수자들의 토론 내용과 이슈를 분석하였다. 셋째, 학습자인 전공 학생들의 인식과 요구를 파악하기 위하여 2개 대학 목록 수강생들을 대상으로 RDA 수업에 대한 의견을 설문조사의 방법으로 파악하였다. 넷째, 분석한 내용을 기반으로 RDA를 도입한 목록 교육 모형을 설계하였고, 이 모형을 바탕으로 정보조직 강의계획안을 설계하였다.

이 연구에서는 문헌정보학 교육과정이 전공자의 정보기술 수용의도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위해 정보기술수용모형을 이용하여 두 가지의 이질적인 정보기술환경에서 전공자와 비전공자간, 그리고 전공 성숙도별 정보기술 수용에 대한 요인적 차이를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 문헌정보학 전공자와 비전공자간 정보기술 수용요인은 사회적 특성을 나타내는 주관적 규범 변수에서 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났으며, 전공성숙도에 따라 저학년 집단에서는 비전공자와 큰 차이가 없었으나 고학년 집단에서는 각 변수의 영향력이 저학년 집단에 비해 큰 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구는 미국도서관협회(American Library Association, ALA)의 인가를 받은 문헌정보학 프로그램에서 제공하는 데이터사이언스와 관련된 수업의 내용을 조사했다. 연구의 목적은 강의 계획서의 내용 분석을 통해 해당 수업에서 다뤄지는 교과목 명, 교과 설명, 학습 목표, 주차 별 주제를 살펴보는 것이다. 문헌정보학 프로그램에서의 데이터사이언스와 관련된 필수 과목 및 선택 과목은, 데이터사이언스 개론, 데이터 마이닝, 데이터베이스, 데이터 분석, 데이터 시각화, 데이터 큐레이션 및 관리, 머신 러닝, 메타데이터, 컴퓨터 프로그래밍 등 데이터사이언스 전 분야에 걸쳐 다양하게 교과목이 개설되어 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 문헌정보학 프로그램에서 데이터사이언스 교과 과정을 개설 및 개정할 때 논의의 시작점이 될 수 있는 기초 자료가 되어 운영 역량을 강화하는데 활용되기를 기대한다.

이 연구는 사서교사 양성과정의 실태를 알아보고 그 문제를 개선하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 교직과정 이수가 승인된 전국 31개 문헌정보학과를 대상으로 교과교육 영역과 학교도서관 관련 영역의 교과목 운영 실태를 자세하게 조사하여 그 문제를 분석하고 개선 방향을 제안하였다. 충실한 사서교사를 양성하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 교과교육론 영역의 교과목을 원칙대로 운용하고 학교도서관 관련 교과목의 편성을 강화하는 것이 필요하다고 밝혔다.
