Energy-Aware Virtual Data Center Embedding

  • As one of the most significant challenges in the virtual data center, the virtual data center embedding has attracted extensive attention from researchers. The existing research works mainly focus on how to design algorithms to increase operating revenue. However, they ignore the energy consumption issue of the physical data center in virtual data center embedding. In this paper, we focus on studying the energy-aware virtual data center embedding problem. Specifically, we first propose an energy consumption model. It includes the energy consumption models of the virtual machine node and the virtual switch node, aiming to quantitatively measure the energy consumption in virtual data center embedding. Based on such a model, we propose two algorithms regarding virtual data center embedding: one is heuristic, and the other is based on particle swarm optimization. The second algorithm provides a better solution to virtual data center embedding by leveraging the evolution process of particle swarm optimization. Finally, experiment results show that our proposed algorithms can effectively save energy while guaranteeing the embedding success rate.

Evaluation of Websites of Public Libraries of India under Ministry of Culture: A Webometric Analysis

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the domain authority, number of webpages, links, and calculate the web impact factor of six public libraries of India which are fully funded by Ministry of Culture with the supervision of administration. The data for the study were collected from websites of concerned libraries with the help of a suitable search engine, Open Site Explorer. The study found that the highest domain and page authority was recorded by Khuda Baksh Oriental Public Library and National Library, respectively. It also further revealed that excepting the two libraries, i.e., Khuda Baksh Oriental Public Library and Delhi Public Library, the internal equity-passing links and total internal links of rest of the libraries is zero. National Library leads with maximum total links and total equity-passing links, also with the highest followed linking root domains, total linking root domains, and linking C blocks, and concludes with the web impact factor of Central Secretariat Library recording the maximum, followed by National Library and Khuda Baksh Oriental Public Library.

상황실 화재 접수자 중심의 화재상황별 시스템 개발 연구 (A Study on the Development of System for Dispatcher)

  • 연구목적: 본 연구는 화재 상황별 분석을 통하여 향후 화재 접수자(이하 '화재 접수자')의 수보 업무를 보완해 나가는 것에 목적을 둔다. 연구방법: 연구를 위해 기존 소방본부에서 제작된 상황별 수보 프로토콜 가이드 라인을 건축물 별로 비교 분석하여 위치, 가연물, 피난, 소방설비로 분류를 나눠 시나리오 작성 연구결과: 작성된 시나리오를 토대로 최종적으로 태블릿 PC 기반으로 한 어플리케이션 형태의 수보 전용 시스템을 개발 결론: 수보 시스템은 화재에 국한된 것이 아닌 재난, 구급 분야에 걸쳐 진행됨. 본 연구는 화재에 국환되어 있으나 향후 재난, 구급분야로 확장해 나가야 할 필요가 있음. 더 나아가 최근 화재 안전성 평가 및 다중이용업소 전수 조사 데이터를 연계할 수 있을 것임.

산학연 협력의 새로운 방향: 산학연 협력연구실 구축을 중심으로 (The new approach to the collaboration among academia, industry, and public research sector: Focussing on Building a collaboration research center)

  • The collaboration among academia, industry, and public research sector gains importance in these days. This is essential for implement competent regional and national innovation systems. There have been many governmental programs for activating collaboration among innovation actors. Most policy programs for collaboration have aimed at increasing S&T and innovation potential and constructing S&T infrastructure. However, Korea has not produced a sufficient level of collaboration, especially on regional level. Most policy programs could not reach regions and many regions have no enough innovation actors. In order to activate R&D collaboration, therefore, we suggest that Korean S&T community should build and implement "collaborative research centers" all over the regions. This concept is very new approach, especially because it focuses on collaboration among regional innovation actors. In this paper, we discuss a concept, type, and execution strategy of collaboration research centers. We expect that these centers will play an important role in implementing successful regional innovation systems, as they will link regional innovation actors very closely.

유연 매니퓨레이터의 피동적인 힘 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Passive Force Control of a Flexible Manipulator)

  • 일반적으로 힘 제어는 힘 센서의 사용 여부에 따라 능동적 힘 제어와 피동적 힘 제어로 분류시킬 수 있다. 능동적 힘 제어는 힘 세서를 이용하여 구속력을 목표한 힘에 근접하도록 제어한다. 유연 매니퓨레이터의 함수(위치, 속도, 가속도)를 이용하여 일정한 힘에 근접하도록 제어한다. 유연 매티퓨레이터에 있어서 링크 선단의 강성 증대는 힘 제어뿐만이 아니라, 링크의 진동을 크게 유발함으로서 위치 제어에 불리하게 작용한다. 주로 사용되고 있는 힘 센서는 많은 변형 게이지(strain gauge)로 구성되어 있다. 유연 매니퓨레이터 또한 링크 선단의 변형을 측정하기 위해 변형 게이지를 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이점에 착안하여, 유연 매니퓨레이터의 선단의 탄성 변형을 측정하기 위해 장착한 변형 게이지를 이용한 위치/힘 제어를 제안한다. 먼저, 유연 매니퓨레이터의 집중 정수 모델로부터 링크의 탄성 변형과 구속력 관계를 도출한 후 이 관계를 이용하여 3차원 실험 유연 매니퓨레이터를 실시간 위치/힘 제어 실험을 수행하였다. 또한 범용 동력학 해석 소프트웨어인 ADAMS FEM 을 이용하여 해석하였다. 마지막으로, 실험 결과와 해석 결과를 비교 분석하여 본 논문에서 제안한 유연 매니퓨레이터의 위치/힘 제어의 타당성을 입증시켰다.

3차원 2진 로봇 머니퓰레이터의 역기구학적 해석 (Inverse Kinematic Analysis of a Three Dimensional Binary Robot Manipulator)

  • A three dimensional binary parallel robot manipulator uses actuators which have only two stable states and its structure is variable geometry truss. As a result, it has a finite number of states and fault tolerant mechanism because of kinematic redundancy. This kind of robot manipulator has some advantages compared to a traditional one. Feedback control is not required, task repeatability can be very high, and finite state actuators are generally inexpensive. Because the number of states of a binary robot manipulator grows exponentially with the number of actuators it is very difficult to solve and inverse kinematic problem. The goal of this paper is to develop an efficient algorithm to solve an inverse kinematic problem of three dimensional binary parallel robot manipulator using a backbone curve when the number of actuators are too much. We first derive the coordinate transformations associated with a three degree of freedom in-parallel actuated robot manipulator. The backbone curve is generated optimally by considering the maximum roll and pitch angles of the robot manipulator configuration and length of link. Then, the robot manipulator is fitted along the backbone curve with some criterion.

Internet Information Orientation: The Link to National Competitiveness on Internet

  • Recently, the web index of Korea peaked at the top 10 among the eighty six countries, and Korea became the only Asian country ranked at the top level. Korea also has been on the top in the field of Internet penetration rate, in terms of both high-speed broadband and wireless Internet. However, such achievements did not guarantee the national level for the effective use of information utilizing Internet. According to OECD, the national informatization index of Korea has not been free from the middle of the OECD countries. Despite of the heightened pressure in practically enhancing effective information use utilizing Internet, the previous research interests and efforts to develop the Internet-related framework or to identify Internet capabilities rarely existed. The study aims to propose the framework, named "Internet Information Orientation" that illustrates the relationship between Internet capabilities and national competitiveness on Internet. The research identified the specific Internet capabilities, reclassified the capabilities based on the research issues provided at the 6th international conference on Internet held in December 2014, and finally described the rigorous research endeavors on the issues. As a result, 16 papers presented and selected as the outstanding papers at the conference handle issues to be brought together, which include: Wireless Network, Internet of Things, Green Computing, Multimedia Processing, Big Data and Text Mining, Database in Cloud Environment, Business Intelligence, Software Engineering, IT Strategy & Policy, and Social Network Services.

UNIVAC No.A DATA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

  • 데이타 link의 효과적인 이용과 host 컴퓨터의 자원을 공유하기 위해 미니 컴퓨터를 통한 회선 공유, 메시지 concentration 메시지 교환 및 통신 preprocessing 기법 등이 그동안 제시되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 위에서 열거한 필 요성을 만족시키며 회신의 효율성과 자원 공유를 얻기위해 TTY 모델 ASR 33을 원격 단말장치로 이용해서 동시에 여러대의 TTY를 운영할 수 있게끔 샐운 시스 템 UNIVAC-No.A 데이타 통신 시스템(UNDCS)을 설계해서 그것을 실제로 No.A-840에 설치하였다. 또한, 통신 preprocessor로서 UNDCS는 원격 단말장치 로서 TTY를 사용하나 host컴퓨터인 UNIVAC 1106는 마치 Uniscope 300 디스플 레이 단말장치와 통신을 하고 있는 것처럼 믿게끔 프로그램을 작성하였다. 따라 서 UNDCS 소프트웨어의 중요한 기능은 다음과 같다. \circled1데이타 link로부터 발생 하는 모든 인터럽트의 처리, 메시지의 송수신 및 buffer경영 \circled2메세지 concentration과 메시지 교환 수행 \circled3데이타 동 기형 전송을 하는데 있어서, UNIVAC의 요구에 상응할 수 있게끔 모든 필요한 메시지 format과 line protocol 을 마련함. \circled4EXEC 8의 demand processing을 서어비스 함. 본 논문에서는 이러 한 목적과 메시지 concentration 및 교환, 통신 preprocessing과 서어비스가 어떻 게 달성되었는가를 기술하였다.

Fair Power Control Using Game Theory with Pricing Scheme in Cognitive Radio Networks

  • This paper proposes a payment-based power control scheme using non-cooperative game with a novel pricing function in cognitive radio networks (CRNs). The proposed algorithm considers the fairness of power control among second users (SUs) where the value of per SU' signal to noise ratio (SINR) or distance between SU and SU station is used as reference for punishment price setting. Due to the effect of uncertainty fading environment, the system is unable to get the link gain coefficient to control SUs' transmission power accurately, so the quality of service (QoS) requirements of SUs may not be guaranteed, and the existence of Nash equilibrium (NE) is not ensured. Therefore, an alternative iterative scheme with sliding model is presented for the non-cooperative power control game algorithm. Simulation results show that the pricing policy using SUs' SINR as price punishment reference can improve total throughput, ensure fairness and reduce total transmission power in CRNs.

노트북 컴퓨터용 LLC 하프 브리지 공진형 어댑터 설계 (Design of the LLC Half Bridge Resonant Adapter for Notebook Computers)

  • The resonant converters cause the high voltage stress according to the input voltage, which increases the conduction loss in converter power switches. The topology of LLC half bridge resonant converter provides ZVS characteristic and also the stress of voltage and current is not higher than that of the general resonant converters. So we can expect the higher efficiency. In this paper, the LLC resonant converter is designed for the notebook computer adapter. In the adapter design, we should consider the weight, the size and overheat of the adapter. Thus the higher efficiency is an essential particular. First of all, the optimal design of transformer is the most important facts. Some parameters should be considered in order to get the highest efficiency. The adapter is designed through the considering of these parameters including the PFC circuit of the pre-regulator. It converts AC line input into about $400V_{DC}$ Link voltage of the LLC converter input and the converter has $16V_{DC}/90W$ ratings. The efficiency measured is about up to 92%.
