  • Objective: Non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) is one of the pathways of repair of DNA double-strand breaks. A number of genes involved in NHEJ have been implicated as breast cancer susceptibility genes such as LIG4. However, some studies have generated conflicting results. The aim of this Human Genome Epidemiology (HuGE) review and meta-analysis was to investigate association between LIG4 gene polymorphisms in the NHEJ pathway and breast cancer risk. Methods: Studies focusing on the relationship between LIG4 gene polymorphisms and susceptibility to breast cancer were selected from the Pubmed, Cochrane library, Embase, Web of Science, Springerlink, CNKI and CBM databases. Data were extracted by two independent reviewers and the meta-analysis was performed with Review Manager Version 5.1.6 and STATA Version 12.0 software, calculating odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs). Results: According to the inclusion criteria, we final included seven studies with a total of 10,321 breast cancer cases and 10,160 healthy controls in the meta-analysis. The results showed no association between LIG4 gene polymorphisms (rs1805386 T>C, rs1805389 C>T, rs1805388 C>T and rs2232641 A>G) and breast cancer risk, suggesting that the mutant situation of these SNPs neither increased nor decreased the risk for breast cancer. In the subgroup analysis by Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (HWE) and ethnicity, we also found no associations between the variants of LIG4 gene and breast cancer risk among HWE, non-HWE, Caucasians, Asians and Africans. Conclusion: This meta-analysis suggests that there is a lack of any association between LIG4 gene polymorphisms and the risk of breast cancer.

  • This paper describes the fabrication process of laser induced graphene (LIG) and its transfer method on to a flexible and stretchable PDMS substrate. By irradiating CO2 laser on a polyimide(PI) film surface, a localized high temperature is created, resulting in a three-dimensional porous graphene network structure with good conductivity. This LIG electrode is relatively easy to fabricate and since it is very weak the LIG electrode was transferred to a flexible PDMS substrate to increase the sturdiness as well as possible use in flexible applications. Sheet resistance, thickness, and electrochemical activity of the fabricated in-situ LIG electrodes have been examined and compared with the LIG electrodes after transferring to PDMS elastomer. The properties of the LIG electrodes were also examined depending on the $CO_2$ laser power. As the irradiated laser power increased, the LIG electrode resistance decreases and the LIG electrode thickness increased. At 4.8 W of laser power, the average sheet resistance and thickness of the fabricated LIG electrodes were approximately $31.7{\Omega}/{\Box}$ and $62.67{\mu}m$, respectively. Moreover, the electrochemical activity of the fabricated LIG electrode at 4.8 W of laser power showed a high oxidation current of $28.2{\mu}A$ after transferring to PDMS.

  • Shelter system is applying to weapon systems as usage of performing specific mission with arranging several electronic equipments and operators. Recently the electronic equipments is changing from development products to COTS(commecial off-the-shelf) for demonstrating high performance at low cost. As internal operators of shelter system conduct several missions for specific or long time in this present situation, one of the most important element considering the best combat power is internal noise level. Therefore, I desire to analyze the features and foresee multiple noise level with test for conforming whether requirements of design is met or not in this research paper.

  • In this paper, a Ka-band high-output active phased array antenna device applicable to small radars and seekers was designed, and the improved performance was studied. The radiation device assembly consists of 1x8 arrangements, and the step flared notch antenna type. It shows low active reflection loss characteristics in broadband, and low loss characteristics by applying the air-strip feeding structure, and is designed to enable beam steering up to 45 degrees. The TRM(transmit receive module) output power is more than 2.0W per channel using GaN HPA in the transmitting path, and satisfies more than 25.0 dB gain and less than 6.0 dB noise figure in the receiving path. Accordingly, the Effective Isotropically Radiated Power(EIRP) of the antenna unit shows the performance of 0.00 dB or more and the receive gain-to-noise temperature ratio(G/T) of 0.00 dB/k or more. For demonstration, we have designed aforementioned planar array antenna which consists of 64 radiating elements having a size within 130 mm x 130 mm x 300 mm and weight of less than 4.9 kg..

  • Recently, the R&D of weapon systems has been strengthened in terms of economic cost management throughout the entire life cycle from performance. This study proposes the method for setting the optimal maintenance concept based on RAM-C in weapon system acquisition stage by calculating the operation & maintenance cost as well as reliability, availability, and maintainability. First, we design a simulation model for analysis of weapon system logistic supportability. In addition, information such as weapon system Part Breakdown Structure, operation & maintenance system, cost, and etc for simulation analysis, is applied. Based on the obtained simulation results, the optimal plan is selected among alternatives designed with various maintenance concepts through normalization and weight setting. It is expected to be of technical help in the application of RAM-C in the weapon system acquisition stage.

  • Satellite based communication is networks in which users in a wide area can access without wired-based ground infrastructure. In particular, the need is emerging due to the recent Ukraine-Russia war. Satellite network systems acquire data that is difficult to observe on Earth as well as communication networks and are also used for research and development, which allows additional data to be produced. However, due to the nature of communication networks existing in outer space, certain vulnerabilities are revealed, and attacks based on them can be exposed. In this paper, we analyze vulnerabilities that may arise due to the nature of satellite communication networks and describes current research, countermeasures, and future research directions.
