  • This study was performed to get more knowledge on the flora and their life form spectrum in the Hallasan Natural Reserve. The vascular plants include 83 species 35 genera 12 families of pteridophytes, 5 varieties 5 species 3 families of gymnosperm, 100 taxa in 2 varieties 98 species 58 genera 8 families of monocotyledon and 362 taxa in 3 forma 10 varieties 349 species 186 genera 65 families of dicotyledon in Hallasan Natural Reserve. The total of vascular plants is 550 taxa in 3 forma 11 varieties 536 species 284 genera 88 families. Among these, 204 species in total including 19 species of pteridophytes, 2 species of conifers, 45 species of monocotyledon and 138 species of dicotyledon are found only in the Hallasan Natural Reserve. The pteridophyte-quotient is 4.52 and floristic richness is 1.94. In the analysis of life form spectrum, there are 190 species (34.5%) of hemicryptophytes and 122 species (22.2%) of geophytes so that two life forms take large portions, 312 species (56.7%) of the vegetation in Hallasan Natural Reserve. Megaphanerophytes and microphanerophytes take 14.5% including 80 species followed by 83 species (15.1%) of nanophanerophytes, 42 species (7.6%) of chamaephytes, 29 species (5.3%) of therophytes, 24 species (4.4%) of hydrophytes and 18 species (3.3%) of epiphytes. According to the life form spectrum hemicryptophytes dominated high portions, which suggests Hallasan Natural Reserve has hemicryptophytic climate and similar to middle parts in the Korean Peninsular. The differences, however, were noticed by that it has more chamaephytes and less therophytes than that of the Peninsular and partially shows the characteristics of artic or subalpine climate.

  • The alpine grassland vegetation at the northwest slope of Mt. Paektu were investigated by Penound- Howard's cover-degree method. The floristic composition of the alpine grassland from 2,100m altitude to the top of mountain were 35 species, 1 subspecies, and 6 varieties, and most of the plants were short p e r e ~ i a l herbs and shrubs. The dominant species of the vegetation distributed along to altitude were Rhododendron aureum (2,100-2,20Om), Dryas octopetala var. asiatica(2,200-2,30Om), Dryas octopetala var. asiatica(2,300-2,40Om), Rhododendron aureum- Rhododendron redowskianum(2,400-2,50Om), and Rhododendron redowskianum(2,500- 2,58Om), respectively. Characteristics of the shrub plants which settled in alpine grassland showed uniform low height(3-15cm), creeping stem and evergreen leaf. Life form of the plants were 29 species of Hemicryptophyte, 8 species of Chamaephyte, 1 species of Geophyte, and 5 species of Phanerophyte. (Key words : Alpine grassland, Mt. • The purpose of this study is invested, recorded about traditional dwelling space, and there is to find out possibilites on the context of the inheritance of traditional life through analzing about life content and space. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Kwang Duk vililage is the typical traditional town where the confucian view of life still affects on overall housing life. 2) The pattern of layout is mainly 'ㅡ' and 'ㄱ' shaped type. In the plane and structural form, the original form is, though some parts have changed, maintained. 3) According to the analysis of transformation state of dwelling space, the category of transformation is summerized as follow ; changes of room function, increase and decrease of annex, and room size by changes of family structure, life style, farming operation style.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest how the machining technique of constant control of cutting speed can improve precision machining and tool life in high speed machining using a ball end mill. Cutting speed is changed in machining fee form surfaces such as connecting rod die. So, we don't have supreme surface form and tool life on machining. To solve this problem we should settle on optimal cutting speeds in free form surface machining. And, to improve precision machining, We must execute high speed machining methods to output optimum NC data using developed constant control of cutting speed program after modeling by CAD/CAM. In this paper, a comparison was made of the cutting precision and tool life in conventional cutting and those in connecting rod machining applying the program developed.

  • Transfer of Candida albicans grown in Sabouraud medium to the RPMI medium induces the transition from a nonpathogenic yeast form to a pathogenic hyphal form. This transition was severely inhibited in a dose-dependent manner when deer antler extract was added to the RPMI medium in a nontoxic range (up to $500{\mu}g$). In that range, deer antler extract inhibited the hyphal transition and cell growth, whereas no effect was observed on the yeast growth. When hydrophobic or hydrophilic fractions were prepared by detergent-solubilization of deer antler extract, the hydrophobic fraction showed a large degree of inhibition of the hyphal growth in Candida albicans. Neither fraction affected the growth in the yeast form. The pattern of chitin localization in the culture of the yeast form grown in RPMI in the presence of deer antler extract was confirmed by calcofluor staining and this exhibited strongly the suppression of hyphal transition.

  • The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of ceramic activities on elderly depression and life satisfaction. The research design was based on one group, with a pre and post-test study design. The subjects of this study included twelve elderly from anelderly daytime care center in Yang-san. Instruments used in this research were KGDS (Korea Form of Geriatric Depression Scale) developed by Jung et al., and a form of life satisfaction developed by Youn. A one-hour ceramic activity was offered to participants weekly, for five weeks. The results showed that depression and life satisfaction changed after the ceramic activities. The participants produced results of emotional aspects for demented old people. More specifically and significantly, positive emotions such as pleasure, in-terest, and tranquility were increased, while negative emotions such as anger or depression were significantly decreased through the ceramic activities. Thus, this study's ceramic activities program appeared to have beneficial effects on elderly depression and life satisfaction.

  • One of the largest and fastest growing segments of the tourism industry, sport tourism refers to travel to play sports, watch sports, or to visit a sport attraction including both competitive and non-competitive activities. In this respect, cycling can be considered as not only a form of physical exercise but also a form of tourism in which cycling is a usual tourism-related activity, heading to a particular destination. The purpose of this study is to examine how demographical differences of cycle tourists are related to the quality of their life. An online survey was conducted and data was analyzed using frequency, reliability, and one - way ANOVA using SPSS 22.0. First, we found that there was no significant difference on the quality of physical life based on demographical characteristics. Second, the analysis of the relationship between demographical characteristics and the quality of mental life showed that income level affects their quality of mental life. Third, the analysis of the relationship between socio demographic characteristics and the quality of social life showed that marital status affects the quality of social life. Fourth, no statistically significant difference was found between the demographical characteristics and the quality of environmental life. Further implications were discussed.

  • PIGK(phosphatidylinositol glycan, class K) is a subunit of GPI transamidase that cleaves the signal peptide in proproteins and replaces it with GPI. In addition, the structure and synthesis of GPI are critically involved in some of the cellular actions of insulin. Therefore, PIGK would be essential for mammalian development and many specific cellular functions as well as for metabolic activity of insulin associated with GPI. Two types of" full-length cDNAs of porcine PIGK were cloned through RT-PCR and RACE experiments. One is thought to be a normal form(consist of 395 amino acids) and the other is considered as an alternative spliced form(consist of 371 amino acids) which contains additional 63 bps in intron 7. Since a stop codon was contained within the insertion, the spliced form has a shorter coding sequence than that of normal form. A missense mutation (T314I) in exon 6 was detected and used for genotyping to estimate association with the growth and fat deposition traits for 545 $F_2$ animals(Korean native boars ${\times}$ Landrace). From the PCR-RFLP analysis using HpyCH4III, CT genotype showed highly significant relationship(P< 0.01) with carcass fat contents.
