A Study on the Design of Intelligent Classifier for Decision of Quality of Barrier Material (차단물질 특성 판정을 위한 지능형 분류기 설계에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, LG chemical corporation developed new material called HYPERIER, which has an excellent barrier characteristic. It has many layers which are made of nano-composite within LDPE(Low-Density Poly Ethylene). In order to guarantee the quality of the final product from the production line, a certain test equipment is required to investigate the existence of layers inside the HYPERIER. In this work, ultrasonic sensor based test equipment for investigating the existence of inner layers is proposed. However, it is a tedious job for human operators to check the existence by just looking at the resounding waveform from ultrasonic sensor. Therefore, to enhance the performance of the ultrasonic test equipment, Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) and Principle Components Analysis(PCA) and Back-Propagation Neural Network(BPNN) are utilized which is used for classification of Quality. To verily the feasibility of the proposed scheme, some experiments are executed.

  • Nano silica ball and nano carbon ball are developed commercially by template synthesis method. Adsorption of unpleasant smelling substances such as ammonia, trimethylamine, acetaldehyde and methyl mercaptane onto nano carbon ball with hollow macroporous core/mesoporous shell structures, nano carbon ball, was investigated and compared with that onto odor adsorbent materials, activated carbon, commercially available. The adsorption and decomposition of malodor at nano carbon ball exhibited superior than those onto activated carbon. The physicochemical properties such as mesopore size distributions, large nitrogen BET specific surface area and large pore volume and decomposition of malodor were studied to interpret the predominant adsorption performance. The nano carbon ball is expected to be useful in many applications such as deodorizers, adsorbent of pollutants.

  • An adaptive seamless Phase II/III clinical trial design enables a reduction in the sample size (in comparison to a conventional design) that also shortens the clinical development time. It is also very effective in clinical trials since it can have higher statistical power than Phase III alone. In this study, we use extensive simulation studies to compare several multiple hypothesis testing methods that can help select the best doses in a Phase II study along with several methods to combine p-values of the Phase II and Phase III study.

A Study on the Efficacy and Equivalence of D-antigen Quantitative Analysis through QbD6sigma Process (QbD6시그마 프로세스를 통한 D-항원 정량 시험법의 유효성과 동등성에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study carried out the Quality by Design (QbD)6σ process to verify the effectiveness and equivalence of the finished D-antigen quantitative test method, and compared the OFAT-based method validation and test result acceptance criteria with the Analytical Quality by Design (AQbD)-based method validation and test method. This is a study on how to reduce the risk of delay in permit change by increasing the reliability of permit data in the existing method by statistically analyzing the results. Methods: With the QbD6σ process, the effectiveness and equivalence of the D-antigen quantitative test method were verified with the data of the existing test method and the new test method. Results: Method validation tests are performed based on AQbD. Critical Method Parameters are identified through risk assessment, and single/combined actions are verified by designing and performing tests for Critical Method Parameters (analysis of variance, full factorial design method). Method validation can be effectively accomplished with the QbD6σ process. Conclusion: The use of QbD6σ can be used to achieve satisfactory results for both pharmaceutical companies and regulators by using appropriate statistical analytical methods for method validation as required by regulatory agencies.

A Study on the Build of a QbD Six Sigma System to Promote Quality Improvement(QbD) Based on Drug Design (의약품 설계 기반 품질 고도화(QbD)를 위한 QbD 6시그마 체계 구축에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study proposes the application of Six Sigma management innovation method for more systematically enhanced execution of Quality by Design (QbD) activities. QbD requires a deeper understanding of the product and process at the design and development stage of the drug, and it is very important to ensure that no fault is fundamentally generated through thorough process control. Methods: Analyzing the background and specific procedures of quality improvement based on the drug design basis, and analyzing the key contents of each step, we have differentated and common points from the 6 Sigma methodology. We propose a new model of Six Sigma management innovation method suitable for pharmaceutical industry. Results: Regulatory agencies are demanding results from statistical analysis as a scientific basis in developing medicines to treat human life through quality improvement activities based on drug design. By utilizing the education system to improve the statistical analysis capacity in the Six Sigma activities and operating the 6 Sigma Belt system in conjunction, it helped systematically strengthen the execution power of quality improvement activities based on pharmaceutical design based on the members of the pharmaceutical industry. Conclusion: By using QbD Six Sigma, which combines quality enhancement based on pharmaceutical design basis and Six Sigma methodology suitable for pharmaceutical industry, it is possible to obtain satisfactory results both by pharmaceutical companies and regulators by using appropriate statistical analysis methods for preparing scientific evidence data required by regulatory.

The Influence of R&D Researchers' Perfectionism on Burnout: Focusing on the Mediated Effect of Self-Efficacy (R&D 연구원의 완벽주의가 소진에 미치는 영향: 자기효능감의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study understood the influence of the company R&D researchers' perfectionism on burnout, and also verified if self-efficacy shows the mediated effect in this relation. In order for this, the data was collected for 293 R&D researchers of a research institute in Daejeon while the structural equation was used for hypothesis verification. In the results of analyzing the survey data, self-oriented perfectionism and self-efficacy had negative correlations with burnout while socially-oriented perfectionism showed positive correlation with burnout. Also it was found that self-efficacy mediated in the influence of self-oriented perfectionism on burnout. In case of socially-oriented perfectionism, however, the mediated effect of self-efficacy was not significant while having direct influence on burnout. Such study results show that self-oriented perfectionism and confidence in self ability that sets up goals and carries out things have positive influence on decreasing burnout. In order to decrease burnout, it would be necessary to cognize that the expectation of perfection is the goal for myself, rather than the one by others.

  • Eight kinds of poly(oxyethylene, oxyisopropylene) dodecyl ethers were synthesized by adding ethylene oxide and isopropylene oxide with each 5 and 10 moles alternatively on dodecanol. The addition of EO and PO for eight kinds of sodium poly(oxyethylene, oxyisopropylene) dodecyl ether sulfates was identified with HPLC, $^1H$ NMR, hydroxy value, and IR spectrum. In order to verify the sulfation the number of EO and PO molecules was obtained by spectra and Epton method. The yields of products sulfated by chlorosulfonic acid were 90~96%.

Elimination Reactions of (E)-2,4,6-Trinitrobenzaldehyde O-Aryloximes Promoted by R3N/R3NH+ in 70 mol% MeCN(aq). Effect of β-Aryl Group the Nitrile-Forming Transition-State

  • Nitrile-forming eliminations from $(E)-2,4,6-(NO_2)_3C_6H_2CH=NOC_6H_4-2-X-4-NO_2$ (1) promoted by $R_3NH/R_3NH^+$ in 70 mol % MeCN(aq) have been studied kinetically. When X = $NO_2$, the reactions exhibited second-order kinetics as well as Br$\"{o}$nsted ${\beta}$ = 0.63 and ${\mid}{\beta}_{lg}{\mid}$ = 0.34-0.46, and an E2 mechanism is evident. As the leaving group was made poorer (X = H, Cl, and $CF_3$), Br$\"{o}$nsted ${\beta}$ value increased from 0.63 to 0.85-0.89 without much change in the ${\mid}{\beta}_{lg}{\mid}$ value E2, indicating that structure of the transition state changed to an E1cb-like with extensive $C_{\beta}-H$ bond cleavage, significant negative charge development at the ${\beta}$-carbon, and limited $C_{\alpha}$-OAr bond cleavage.

  • In this study, removal efficiencies of pesticides on apples and peppers with water, dishwashing detergent, and alcoholic disinfectant were investigated by Gas Chromatography. Different conditions of pretreatment for increase of pesticide recovery were investigated for optimum condition. In our experiment, the supelco-STB-608 column and electron capture detector(ECD) were used to analyze pesticides residue. Removal efficiency of pesticide was in the order of alcoholic disinfectant>dishwashing detergent>water.

Density Functional Studies of Ring-Opening Reactions of Li+-(ethylene carbonate) and Li+-(vinylene carbonate)

  • Reaction energies were determined for reductive ring-opening reactions of Li$^+$-coordinated ethylene carbonate (EC) and vinylene carbonate (VC) by a density functional method. We have also explored the ring-opening of Li$^+$-EC and Li$^+$-VC by reaction with a nucleophile (CH$_3$O$^-$.) thermodynamically. Our thermodynamic calculations led us to conclude that the possible reaction products are CH$_3$OCH$_2$CH$_2$OCO$_2$Li (O$_2$-C$_3$ cleavage) for Li$^+$-EC +CH$_3$O$^-$., and CH$_3$OCHCHOCO$_2$Li (O$_2$-C$_3$ cleavage) and CH$_3$OCO$_2$CHCHOLi (C$_1$-O$_2$ cleavage) for Li$^+$-VC +CH$_3$O$^-$.. The opening of VC would occur at the C$_1$-O$_2$ side by a kinetic reason, although the opening at the O$_2$-C$_3$ side is more favorable thermodynamically.
