Intonatin Conversion using the Other Speaker's Excitation Signal (他話者의 勵起信號를 이용한 抑揚變換)

  • In this paper an intonation conversion method is presented which provides the basic study on converting the original speech into the artificially intoned one. This method employs the other speaker's excitation signals as intonation information and the original vocal tract spectra, which are warped with the other speaker's ones by using DTW. as vocal features, and intonation converted speech signals are synthesized through short-time inverse Fourier transform(STIFT) of their product. To evaluate the intonation converted speech by this method, we collect Korean single vowels and sentences spoken by 30 males and compare fundamental frequency contours spectrograms, distortion measures and MOS test between the original speech and the converted one. The result shows that this method can convert and speech into the intoned one of the other speaker's.

  • As the International Rice Genome Sequencing Project (IRGSP) was completed in 2005 and opened to the public, many countries are making a lot of investments in researches on the utilization of sequence information along with system development. Also, the necessity of the functional genomics researches using microarray is increased currently to secure unique genes related with major agricultural traits and analyze metabolic pathways. Microrarray enables efficient analysis of large scale gene expression and related transcription regulation. This review aims to introduce available microarrays made based on rice genome information and current status of gene expression analysis using these microarrays integrated with the databases available to the public. Also, we introduce the researches on the large scale functional analysis of genes related with useful traits and genetic networks. Understanding of the mechanism related with mutual interaction between proteins with co-expression among rice genes can be utilized in the researches for improving major agricultural traits. The direct and indirect interactions of various genes would provide new functionality of rice. The recent results of the various expression profiling analysis in rice will promote functional genomic researches in plants including rice and provide the scientists involved in applications researches with wide variety of expression informations.

Cinnamic Acid Derivatives V. the Kinetics and Mechanism of the Hydrolysis of Cinnamenylisophorone Derivatives (신남산 유도체 V. Cinnamenylisophorone 유도체의 가수분해 반응에 대한 메카니즘과 그 반응속도론적 연구)

  • The kinetics of hydrolysis of cinnamenylisophorone derivatives (${rho}-H,\;{rho}-Br,\;P-Cl,\;{rho}-OCH_3$) was investigated using ultraviolet spectrophotometry in 20%(v/v) dicxane-$H_2O$ at 25$^{\circ}C$. A rate equation which can be applied over wide pH range (pH $1.0{\sim}13.0$) was obtained. In order to investigate the substituent effects on cinnarnenylisophorone derivatives, Hammett constant was plotted. As the result, the rate of hydrolysis of cinnamenylisophorone derivatives was facilitated by electron donating group. Final products of the hydrolysis were benzaldehyde and isophorone, From the measurement of reaction rate constant according to pH changes, substituent effect, and final products, it was found that the hydrolysis of cinnarnenylisophorone derivatives was initiated by the neutral $H_2O$ molecule which does not dissociated at below pH 9.0, and in the range of pH $9.0{\sim}11.0$ this reaction occurs by $H_2O$ or hydroxide ion competitively, but proceeded by the hydroxide ion above pH 11.0. On the basis of this kinetic study, the reaction mechanism of the hydrolysis of cinnamenylisophorone derivatives was proposed.

  • Biodegradable films were prepared by solution blend method in the weight ratio of chitosan for the purpose of useful biomaterials. The possibility of biomaterials prepared from natural polymer as a skin substitute was evaluated by measuring biocompatibility. These films were inserts in the back of rat and their biodegradability was investigated by the film weight and hematology as a function of time for the biotransformation. The result of rat test showed that medium, high viscosity chitosan induced some suspects of inbiocompatibility in the tissue by goreign body reaction 48 and 72 hours after implantation. Also, we prepared the official burn ointment which is made by low viscosity chitosan. This burn ointment was covered on the skin wound of artificial burn and their effect of healing was investigated by the evaluation of the naked eye and hematological change as a function of time. The result of rats test showed that burn ointments made from chitosan was effective reductio of inflammation than negative group.

  • Peptide synthetases are large multifunctional enzyme complexes that catalyze the nonribosomal synthesis of a structurally diverse family of peptide antibiotics. These enzymes are composed of functionally independent domains with independent enzymatic activities. Their specific linkage order of domains forms the protein template that defines the sequence of the incorporated amino acids. Within each domain, several motifs of highly conserved sequences have been identified from the sequence alignment of the various peptide synthetases [30]. Taking advantage of the conserved nucleotide sequence of Core 1 and Core 2, we designed PCR primers to amplify the peptide synthetase genes from three different gram-positive bacterial strains. Nucleotide sequence analysis of the amplified PCR products from those three strains showed significant homology to various peptide synthetase genes, suggesting that the PCR products are parts of peptide synthetase genes. Therefore, this rapid and efficient PCR technique can be used for the isolation of peptide synthetase genes from various strains.

The Properties of P/C Blended Fabrics Treated with the Water Repellent of Acrylic Copolymer and Additives (아크릴 공중합체형 발수제로 처리된 P/C 혼방직물의 물성연구)

  • In the preparation of acrylic water repellent(EDLWC). quaternized 2-diethylarrunoethylmethacrylate-stearylmethacrylate copolymer (DSACC) and quaternized 1-Iaurovlbis(aminoethyl)-2-dodecylimidazoline(LDDIC) were selected as a basic resin and the improving agent such as softening effect and hydrostatic pressure of the water repellent. EDLWC was prepared by blending waxes and emulsifier for waxes with various ratio to DSACC and LDDIC. As the results of the measurement of water repellency, washable, tear strength and crease recovery to polyester-cotton(P/C) blended fabrics treated with EDLWC only or addition of textile finishing resin, the physical properties were increased. Sodium acetate was the most effective catalyst in the water repellency among the various kinds of catalyst. and the reasonable concentration of the catalyst was 1. 4 wt%. EDLWC was confirmed as durable water repellent with the results of making little difference of water repellency as ${\pm}5$ point after and before washing. The reaction mechanism between P/C blended fabrics and EDLWC in the presence of catalyst was proposed. And also, the longitudinal view of the P/C blended fabrics treated with water repellent was observed with scanning electron microscope.

  • This study was performed to determine antioxidative activity of solvent extracts from medicinal plant. As the result, methanol extract from Saurus chinensis Bail and Glycine soya exhibited superior free radical activity as well as reducing power. In particular, methanol extract from Saurus chinensis Bail showed high free radical activity with 130.08${\mu}g/mL$ as $IC_{50}$ value and strong reducing power at concentration of $400{\mu}g/mL$.

  • In this paper, structural design for 2kW class composite blade is performed by using design of experiment(DOE). A full factorial design is applied to meet the design specifications at the manufacturing process. The analysis of variance(ANOVA) is made in order to determine the significance of effects in an analysis. Structural analysis by using of commercial software ABAQUS is performed to compute the displacement and safety factor of filament wound composite blade. The results show that the proposed method is suitable to analyze the factors at the design of wind turbine blade.
