Channel letter용 High Power LED Module 개발 (Development of High power LED module for Channel letter)

  • Channel letter용 High Power LED Module 개발하기 위하여, 1W 백색(단색) LED 1EA LED Module과 1W 백색(단색) LED 3EA LED Module, 3W RGB LED 1EA LED Module에 대한 3종의 제품 개발하고, 고효율 RGB LED SMPS 회로 설계, 광색 가변을 위한 RGB LED 최적 배치 및 렌즈 설계, 고출력 1W LED Module 방열 설계 및 기구 개발, SMPS 회로 및 RGB LED 배열 회로 통합 시제품 직접 제작하였다, 신뢰성 평가 및 성능 시험 등을 실시하였으며, T자형 Channel letter에 기존 고휘도 LED Module과 개발된 고출력 LED Nodule을 동시에 적용한 결과, 기존 고휘도 LED Module를 사용하였을 경우에는 $1W{\times}10$개로 10W의 전력을 소비하였으나 개발된 고출력 LED Nodule은 $3W{\times}3$개로 9W의 전력을 소비하였으며 1W의 에너지가 절감되었음에도 불구하고 평균 휘도는 약 2.5배, 균제도는 1.43 배가 더 우수한 결과를 얻었다.

방열 조건에 따른 5W급 고출력 백색 LED 모듈의 광 특성 평가 (Evaluation of the Lighting Characteristics in High Power White LED Module with Cooling Condition)

  • The performance and lighting characteristics of the LED depend on cooling condition because the power LED generates lots of heat. In this paper, the effect of the generated heat from power LED module on lighting characteristics and performance is measured and evaluated. For experiments, the transient temperature of a power LED module with cooling condition is measured. In addition, the temperature and lighting characteristics of the LED module are measured during the steady state. As a result, the cooling condition is less effective on the lighting characteristics of the LED module at rated current but the cooling condition extremely affects those of the LED module over the rated current. Because high temperature of the power LED module causes the low phosphor conversion, luminance efficiency becomes low and color temperature becomes high. When power LED module are driven over the rated condition, higher temperature is directly related to lighting characteristics and performance of the LED module rather than higher current.

  • This paper shows significant methods that improve the lifespan of LED modules as well as efficiently using an aluminum heat-sink for LED module in high power. It proposes a method that raises stability and lifespan to protect LED modules and the power unit when the LED module has been used for a long hours at high temperatures. During the research, we applied a method of pulse-width modulation (PWM) in order to prevent the phenomenon that the entire power of a system is turned off and the lifespan is reduced when the LED nodule reacts to the high temperatures. To protect the LED module and SMPS based on high efficiency, a temperature sensor is attached underneath the circuit board and the sensor measures the temperature of circuit board when the LED module is powered on. The electrical power connected to SMPS is controlled by PWM when the temperature of the LED module reaches a particular temperature.

  • Hybrid supercapacitors with high power density and long cycle life are widely used for emergency power source of LED emergency luminaires. In this paper, we designed and fabricated a hybrid capacitor cell and a module for the LED emergency luminaires. Using hybrid supercapacitor cells (1,000 F, 2.8 V), we designed a module in a 10-year warranty considering aging and ESR. Considering the ESR and efficiency has been designed to module with 1,000 F 5.6 V design results in 2 series and 2 parallel combination. Module was used to confirm that the operation 77.5 minutes at room temperature, discharge LED emergency luminaires with 2 W. As a LED emergency luminaires of emergency power supply that we can support more than 10 years of life was confirmed the applicability of hybrid supercapacitor.

  • This paper amis at improving the heat radiation performance of thermoelectric module (TEM) for a commercialization of high-powered LED light with using a multichip LED module. In addition, a 10W multichip LED light was prepared for the heat performance on radiating of which LED light was made for a use of testing by the driving of the thermoelectric module. So, it was found that about 30% in the effect of temperature reduction was confirmed if compared with the radiation heat by heat sink only.

  • It is difficult to measure junction temperature in the LED Module. According to the arrangement control unit and heat sink, temperature distribution is changed in the LED Module. A method of forecasting LED Module thermal resistance is suggested with measuring LED and PCB board temperature.

식물 성장용 LED조명 모듈 및 제어 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of LED Lighting Module and Control System for Plant Growth)

  • LED lighting is used as artificial lighting for plant growth because it has high light efficiency and can radiate light of various wavelengths. In this paper, we have developed new structure LED lighting module to improve the performance of LED lighting for plant growth and proposed a lighting control system that can be controlled wirelessly. The proposed LED lighting module was fabricated using optical lens applied to tunnel light and simulated using Relux program. Results of simulation, we confirmed that the light distribution and average illuminance of the proposed lighting were improved. LED lighting control system was developed to wirelessly control R, G, B, W LED lighting according to plant type and growing season. Therefore, it is expected to provide the optimal lighting environment for plant growth and contribute to the improvement of farm productivity and convenience.

하이브리드 태양광 LED 가로등 시스템 연구 (A study on hybrid solar LED street light system)

  • In line with the rapid economic growth of many countries, fossil fuel energy sources are also rapidly depleting. Therefore, the price is also rising rapidly, so it is necessary to develop new and renewable energy sources such as hydropower, geothermal power, nuclear power, wind power and solar energy to replace fossil fuel energy in the future. In this study, development of rotating concentrator module system, development of rotating module control control system, development of lamp and charge control controller, configuration and prototype production of rotating concentrating solar LED street light system, efficiency of rotating concentrating solar LED street light, and power production. The research was conducted in the order of evaluation of comprehensive performance tests such as consumption and consumption. As a result, the developed high-efficiency rotation-concentrating hybrid solar LED street light module system has a 50% higher light-gathering efficiency than existing products by tracing sunlight by self-developing a rotation-collecting module on existing solar LED street lamps according to the characteristics of Korea's topography. and the power generation was improved by more than 40%.

히트파이프 및 스택핀을 이용한 50W급 옥외용 LED 모듈개발 (Development of Outdoor 50W-LED Module using Heat-pipe and Stack-fin)

  • We proposed 50W-LED modules of using Heat-pipe and Stack-fin and produced LED modules was evaluated heat dissipation characteristics with comparison of the conventional die-casting type. It verified the application of products by applying it to 150W-LED road luminaires through simulation. The LED module was measures aimed design temperature of the Stack-fin and showed 26% upward heat dissipation effect than a conventional die-casting type. The luminous efficacy of 150W-LED road luminaires using this LED module reached over 112lm/W, and the simulation results showed average of horizontal luminance, overall luminance uniformity($U_O$) and lane luminance uniformity($U_I$) that is suitable for five-lane road with the KS standards.

  • 본 논문에서는 PC모듈 기반으로 LED(Light Emitting Diode)의 White조명을 이용한 VLC(Visible Light Communication) 송 수신기 모듈의 미디어 전송 시스템을 구현하고 전송 기술에 대해 성능 분석을 하기 위한 연구이다. LED가시광통신을 실현시키고자 송신부에는 1~12개의 LED발광소자와 수신부에는 가변 센서를 사용 하고자 한다. LED가시광통신을 하고자 개발이 이루어진 송 수신부의 초기 거리 값은 0~1m이상으로 하고 전체 시스템 전송 속도는 수천 kbps를 가지는 가시광 미디어 전송 시스템을 이루었다. 성능 분석을 위해서, PC 모듈에 LED 및 적외선센서를 구성하여 예측 및 통신 거리에 분석하여 응용 방법과 가능성에 대해서 확인하고자 한다. LED 모듈의 전체적인 효율 증가를 위하여 렌즈 착용시와 미착용시 각 성능을 측정하여 약 20%의 효율이 증가하였음을 알 수 있었다.
