UV 젤 네일을 위한 LED 램프 회로 설계 (Design of LED Lamp Circuits for UV Gel Nail)

  • 손발톱 관리를 위해 UV 젤의 이용이 점차 증가하고 있다. UV 젤에 필요한 UV 램프를 개발하기 위해 본 연구에서는 UV LED 램프 구성 회로를 설계하였다. 여러 개의 UV LED들에 일정한 전원을 공급하는 전원부는 DC-DC 컨버터 방식의 회로로 설계를 하였다. 그리고 엄지손톱의 방향과 소지손톱의 위치를 고려하여 UV LED들을 배치하였다. 전원부의 입력전원은 3.8[V]의 전지전압을 사용하였다. 전원부의 출력전압은 약 3.1[V]로 나타났으며, UV LED들이 소모하는 전류량에 따른 출력전압의 변화 상태를 알아보기 위해 부하저항을 삽입한 후 부하저항을 변화시켜 가면서 시뮬레이션 한 결과에서도 출력전압은 약 3.0[V] 이상으로 나타났다.

  • Recently, welding technology of nonferrous metals which were difficult to implement by arc welder has become available through digitalization of arc welding machine. Among them, the welding quality improvement of aluminum welding is very noticeable. These results increase the arc stability by controlling arc current and voltage waveform precisely, and control wire feed speed by synchronizing with arc current which the feed rate of filler wire is controlled by a precise motor control of servomotor and not by a simple constant speed feeding. Not only through the hardware digitalization of arc welding machine but also through advance of software of arc welding, it became possible to implement a certain level of welding quality by a simple operation. These led to CMT welding process implementation which requires low heat input than current arc welding and highly increased the applicability of the aluminum welding.

RF스퍼터링법으로 성장시킨 n-ZnO 박막과 n-ZnO/p-GaN 이종접합 LED의 특성 (Properties of the RF Sputter Deposited n-ZnO Thin-Film and the n-ZnO/p-GaN heterojunction LED)

  • The ZnO thin films were grown on GaN template substrates by RF magnetron sputtering at different RF powers and n-ZnO/p-GaN heterojunction LEDs were fabricated to investigate the effect of the RF power on the characteristics of the n-ZnO/p-GaN LEDs. For the growth of the ZnO thin films, the substrate temperature was kept constant at $200^{\circ}C$ and the RF power was varied within the range of 200 to 500W at different growth times to deposit films of 100 nm thick. The electrical, optical and structural properties of ZnO thin films were investigated by ellipsometry, X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), photoluminescence (PL) and by assessing the Hall effect. The characteristics of the n-ZnO/p-GaN LEDs were evaluated by current-voltage (I-V) and electroluminescence (EL) measurements. ZnO thin films were grown with a preferred c-axis orientation along the (0002) plane. The XRD peaks shifted to low angles and the surface roughness became non-uniform with an increase in the RF power. Also, the PL emission peak was red-shifted. The carrier density and the mobility decreased with the RF power. For the n-ZnO/p-GaN LED, the forward current at 20 V decreased and the threshold voltage increased with the RF power. The EL emission peak was observed at approximately 435 nm and the luminescence intensity decreased. Consequently, the crystallinity of the ZnO thin films grown with RF sputtering powers were improved. However, excess Zn affected the structural, electrical and optical properties of the ZnO thin films when the optimal RF power was exceeded. This excess RF power will degrade the characteristics of light emitting devices.

고휘도 LED를 이용한 머신비전용 조명광원 제어기 개발 (Using High Brightness LED Light Source Controller for Machine Vision)

  • 본 논문은 의료영상시스템, 공장자동화 시스템에서 핵심기술인 정확한 검사와 계측을 위하여 보다 선명하고 안정정인 환경을 제공하기 위한 조명으로 고휘도 LED를 이용한 조명광원의 제어기를 개발하였다. 고휘도 LED 전용드라이버를 장착하여 정전류 방식으로 안정된 전원을 공급하도록 설계하고, 32비트 ARM 프로세서 코어를 사용하여 화상처리 시 필수적인 요소인 광량을 256단계로 나누어 리모트 컨트롤 및 외부 인터페이스가 가능하도록 하여 볼륨의 저항 값 오차로 인하여 발생되는 밝기 값의 부정확을 방지하고 디지털화함으로써 빛의 재현성을 개선하였다. 아나로그 전원에 비하여 조광 범위가 넓고 낮은 레벨에서도 조광이 가능하도록 설계 하였으며 또한 RS-485 통신기능을 추가하여 외부장치로부터 데이터를 받아 사용자가 광량조절 및 ON/OFF 제어가 가능하도록 개발 하였다.

The Investigation of COD Treatment and Energy Consumption of Urban Wastewater by a Continuous Electrocoagulation System

  • In this study, electrochemical treatment of urban wastewater with electrical conductivity of 1000 μS cm-1 and chemical oxygen demand of 250 mg L-1 was investigated using the variables of initial pH value, current density and flow rate. Electrocoagulation was used, in which aluminum and stainless steel were selected, as the electrochemical treatment process. The electrocoagulation process was operated in continuous mode. The data obtained in experimental studies show that the best COD removal efficiency occurred in experiments where the initial pH value was 6. The increase in current density from 5 A to 15 A decreased the removal efficiency from 79 to 67%. The increase in flow rate under constant current density also reduced the efficiency of removal as expected. In experiments in which current density and flow rate were examined together, the increase in flow rate allowed the application of higher current densities. This situation led to considerable reductions in energy consumption values, even if the COD removal efficiency did not significantly increase. The high COD removal obtained with the use of high flow rate and high current density indicates that the electrocoagulation process can be used for high flow rate municipal wastewater treatment.

  • A boost converter with charge-recycling technique fabricated by $0.25{\mu}m$ CMOS BCD process can provide different supply voltages to drive series RGB LEDs in sequence for reducing the power consumption on the constant current generator. The proposed technique stores and restores extra energy to improve the efficiency, as well as enhances the reference tracking response. Experimental results show that the period of reference-tracking response can be improved. When the load current is 100mA, the periods of reference down-tracking and uptracking are smaller than $10{\mu}s$ and $20{\mu}s$, respectively. Experimental results demonstrate fast and efficient reference tracking performance is achieved.

Electrical and Dielectric Properties, and Accelerated Aging Characteristics of Lanthania Doped Zinc Oxide Varistors

  • The microstructure, electrical and dielectric properties, and stability against DC accelerated aging stress of the varistors, which are composed of quaternary system $ZnO-Pr_6O_{11}CoO-Cr_2O_3-based$ ceramics, were investigated for different $La_2O_3$ contents. The increase of $La_2O_3$ content led to more densified ceramics, whereas abruptly decreased the nonlinear properties by incorporating beyond 1.0mol%. The highest nonlinearity was obtained from 0.5mol% $La_2O_3$, with the nonlinear coefficient of 81.6 and the leakage current of $0.1{\mu}A$. The varistors doped with 0.5mol% $La_2O_3$ exhibited high stability, in which the variation rates of breakdown voltage, nonlinear coefficient, leakage current, dielectric constant, and dissipation factor were -1.1%, -3.7%, +100%, +1.4%, and +8.2%, respectively, for stressing state of $0.95V_{1mA}/150^{\circ}C/24h$.

지역 어메니티 촉진을 위한 마을만들기 운영사례 비교연구 (A comparative case study of neighbourhood making for promoting a local amenity)

  • The aim of the research was to analyze programs, outcomes, promotion process, and operation methods of neighbourhood making to provide basic information for progressive improvement directions in the future. Buk-gu in Gwanju city, samdeok-dong in Daegu city and dongpirang in Tongyeong city were selected for a comparative analysis. The main bodies of neighbourhood making for promoting a local amenity were analysed for this research. The results indicated that a voluntary and continuous participation of residents was expected in the case of neighbourhood making led by the residents. However, a steady budget support from the outside was necessary for the continuous management and improvement of neighbourhood organization. For this, a voluntary agreement was required through the consultative group and committee formation. The member of civil organization has a limitation in the ability to develop and maintain continuos activities in the case of neighbourhood making led by a civil organization. This research found that operation methods including the constant checking, the search for new ideas through assessment of the resident's participation, local festivals for a community formation and real satisfactions of residents' desires were needed in the neighbourhood making led by a civil organization. A participation rate in neighbourhood making was low in the case of neighbourhood making led by administrative bodies. This result indicated that the long-term strategics for space renewal and community revitalization were important. Various easy ways of residents' participation to reflect their interests and operation systems were also needed. Finally, current local issues, active residents' participation and residents' opinions would be included in the process of neighbour making in the future.

$BaTiO_3$ 박막과 후막의 2중 유전체로 구서된 AC 분산형 ELD의 특성 (Characteristics of AC Power Electroluminescent Device with the Double Dielectric Layers of Thin and Thick Barium Titanate Films)

  • It is known that amorphous BaTiO$_3$ thin films have good insulating properties[1][2]. In this investigation, amorphous BaTiO$_3$ thin films were deposited by rf magnetron sputtering on thick BaTiO$_3$ films of AC powder EL devices which were fabricated by screen-printing. The electrical and optical properties of the EL devices were then investigated. Adding amorphous BaTiO$_3$ thin film, it showed that leakage current density was decreased. Especially, leakage current density was decreased more with he sample of 0.5-hour deposition than the sample of 4-hours deposition. This result led to the improvement of luminous efficiency by 11%. It could be concluded that proper amorphous BaTiO$_3$ thin film deposition improved the surface property of dielectric layer.

Evaluation of time-dependent deflections on balanced cantilever bridges

  • The use of prestressed concrete box girder bridges built by segmentally balanced cantilevers has bloomed in the last decades due to its significant structural and construction advantages in complex topographies. In Colombia, this typology is the most common solution for structures with spans ranging of 80-200 m. Despite its popularity, excessive deflections in bridges worldwide evidenced that time-dependent effects were underestimated. This problem has led to the constant updating of the creep and shrinkage models in international code standards. Differences observed between design processes of box girder bridges of the Colombian code and Eurocode, led to the need for a validation of in-service status of these structures. This study analyzes the long-term behavior of the Tablazo bridge with data scarcity. The measured leveling of this structure is compared with a finite-element model that consider the most widely used creep and shrinkage models in the literature. Finally, an adjusted model evidence excessive deflection on the bridge after six years. Monitoring of this bridge typology in Colombia and updating of the current design code is recommended.
