  • This paper Presents to choose number of RGB LED through optical special quality analysis of RGB LED samples and to produce ratio of RGB LED for a stable color variation and white light. Also, it is to design of a simple switching circuit using some resistances and switching transistors that is able to operate each 16 RGB LED stably, and switching control circuit base on a microcontroller that would be suitable for colors variation patterns control more than about 64 patterns and colors variation more than about 100,000 colors using ON/OFF and Duty control.

  • Lighting energy accounts for approximately 20% of the electrical energy used worldwide. Thus, High efficiency Light emitting diode(LED)lighting is getting more popular as the next generation lighting replaced to traditional lighting fixtures. Also, LED lighting not only has a long lifetime but also can realize a variety visual environments through the wavelengh control. The lighting energy varies depending on the Spectral Power Distribution(SPD) even though the Illuminance level is same. Therefore, This study indicates that the difference of indoor energy consumption under the same illuminance level when Spectral Power Distribution(SPD) is different. As a result, Lighting energy consumption under red-color emphasizing SPD is about 10% lower than under blue-color emphasizing SPDs.

  • A direct-lit color-matching liquid crystal display using a lenticular lens array with grouped lens elements that image linear RGB light sources on the RGB subpixels of a color filter to enhance transmittance is designed, simulated, and fabricated. The RGB LED linear light sources were fabricated using small RGB LEDs in a linear array arrangement, and the lenticular lens array consisted of eight units of the same structure with a gap of 2.19 mm. The optical transmittance of the liquid crystal panel was improved by as much as 240% due to the color matching.

Errors in light-emitting diodes positioning when curing bulk fill and incremental composites: impact on properties after aging

  • Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of improper positioning single-peak and multi-peak lights on color change, microhardness of bottom and top, and surface topography of bulk fill and incremental composites after artificial aging for 1 year. Materials and Methods: Bulk fill and incremental composites were cured using multi-peak and single-peak light-emitting diode (LED) following 4 clinical conditions: (1) optimal condition (no angulation or tip displacement), (2) tip-displacement (2 mm), (3) slight tip angulation (α = 20°) and (4) moderate tip angulation (α = 35°). After 1-year of water aging, the specimens were analyzed for color changes (ΔE), Vickers hardness, surface topography (Ra, Rt, and Rv), and scanning electron microscopy. Results: For samples cured by single-peak LED, the improper positioning significantly increases the color change compared to the optimal position regardless of the type of composite (p < 0.001). For multi-peak LED, the type of resin composite and the curing condition displayed a significant effect on ΔE (p < 0.001). For both LEDs, the Vickers hardness and bottom/top ratio of Vickers hardness were affected by the type of composite and the curing condition (p < 0.01). Conclusions: The bulk fill composite presented greater resistance to wear, higher color stability, and better microhardness than the incremental composite when subjected to improper curing. The multi-peak LED improves curing under improper conditions compared to single-peak LED. Prevention of errors when curing composites requires the attention of all personnel involved in the patient's care once the clinical relevance of the appropriate polymerization reflects on reliable long-term outcomes.

LED광의 파장을 달리하여 재배한 새송이버섯의 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics of Pleurotus eryngii Cultivated with Different Wavelength of LED Lights)

  • 새송이 버섯 재배에 효과적인 LED 광질을 구명하기 위하여, 청색광(450 nm), 적색광(650 nm), 녹색광(525 nm), UV-A(365 nm) 및 혼합광(청$^*$적, 청$^*$녹, 적$^*$녹, 청$^*$$^*$$^*$UV-A)의 LED광을 이용하여 재배한 새송이버섯의 품질특성을 조사하였으며, 대조구의 광원으로는 관행재배에 이용되고 있는 형광등을 사용하였다. LED의 파장이 길어질수록 총 길이가 길어지는 경향이었으며, 중량 또한 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 섬유소, 단백질 및 무기질의 함량은 높고, 조지방의 함량은 매우 낮았으며, LED광을 이용하여 재배한 모든 구에서 조섬유 함량의 증가가 나타났다. 경도를 측정한 결과, 갓은 전반적으로 대조구와 유사한 조직감을 나타내었고, 자루는 적색광, 녹색광, 적 녹 혼합광 및 UV-A의 조건 하에서 재배한 새송이버섯이 유의적으로 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 적색광, 녹색광 및 적 녹 혼합광 처리구의 갓이 밝은 계통의 색으로 대조구의 갓 색과 유사하였고, 자루의 길이 역시 대조구와 비슷한 수준으로 생장하였다. 밝은 계통의 갓을 가진 구는 자루도 밝은 경향이었으며, 자루의 색도 측정 결과도 갓과 유사한 경향을 나타냈다. 관능평가 결과 외관이 대조구와 흡사할수록 높은 점수를 받았으며, 그 중 적색광 처리구가 선호경향이 가장 강한 것으로 나타났다. 반면, UV-A 및 청색광을 포함한 나머지 처리구는 어두운 계통의 갓으로 표고버섯 수준의 색을 띄었으며, 신장이 억제되어 짧은 자루를 가진 새송이버섯이 재배되었다. 또한, 이상의 결과로 광질은 새송이버섯의 품질에 큰 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 새송이버섯 재배에 LED 기술을 접목시킬 때에는 적색광을 이용하는 것이 가장 적합한 것으로 판단된다.

DPVBi/Alg3:Rubrene 구조를 사용한 2-파장 방식의 백색유기발광소자의 발광특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Luminous Properties of the White-light-emitting Organic LED with Two-wavelength using DPVBi/Alg3:Rubrene Structure)

  • The white-light-emitting organic LED with two-wavelength was fabricated using blue emitting material(DPVBi) and a series of orange color fluorescent dye(Rubrene) by vacuum evaporation processes. The basic structure of white-light-emitting OLED was ITO/NPB(150$\AA$)/DPVBi(150$\AA$)/Alq$_3$:Rubrene(150$\AA$)/BCP(100$\AA$)/Alq$_3$(150$\AA$)/Al(600$\AA$). The changes of the CIE coordiante strongly depended on the doping concentration of Rubrene and the thickness of NPB layer. We obtained the white-light-emitting OLED close to the pure white color light and the CIE coordinate of the device was (0.315, 0.330) at applied voltage of 13V when the doping concentration of Rubrene was 0.5wt% and the thickness of NPB layer is 200$\AA$. At a current of 100mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$, the quantum efficiency was 0.35%.

  • This paper describes the effects of chip arrangement configurations and the dimension of a reflecting cup upon the light output characteristics of a white lamp composed of RGB LED chips. As a result of simulation, the shorter distance between adjacent chips leads to a relative decrease in the light output efficiency due to inter-chip absorption of quanta, but rather uniform color mixing is expected. Among the factors of designing a reflecting cup it is the tilt angle of the cup wall that plays a determining role upon the variation of the light distribution. The light distribution shows a sudden change of pattern from Lambertian to Batwing at about $35^{\circ}{\sim}40^{\circ}$ of tilt angle in case of a silver-coated wall cup.

  • A novel fiber optic solution is provided to efficiently mix visible colors. Full color synthesis was achieved utilizing a novel $3{\times}1$ hard polymer clad fiber (HPCF) coupler along with red, green and blue (RGB) light emitting diode (LED) primaries. Varying the intensities of RGB LEDs that are coupled to three input ports, the device rendered a full color with an ultra wide CIE color gamut. Potential applications in pica-projection displays and LED backlights will be discussed.

박형 디스플레이를 위한 도광판의 광학설계 (Optical Design of Light Guide Plate Material for Slim Liquid Crystal Display)

  • In this paper, in order to achieve slim and light liquid crystal display, we examine the optical conditions that can obtain uniform light with higher optical efficiency over whole light guide plate (LGP) through simulation. Furthermore, to overcome the issues of hot spot in front of red, green, and blue light emitting diodes (RGB LEDs) source and non-uniform color mixing, we propose four shaped color mixing bars tied up with the LGP and check the optical characteristics of the LGP with them by simulation. Consequently, we could know the optical conditions of improving optical efficiency and optical uniformity in the LGP through the optical design. Also we confirmed that the issues of the hot spot and non-uniform color mixing in edge type LED could be solved by using the ${\bigwedge}$-shaped window color mixing bar.

  • 최근 전 세계적으로 에너지에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있으며, 에너지의 효과적인 운용과 에너지 세이빙을 위한 IT 기술개발의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. LED는 저전력 에너지를 사용함으로써 전 세계적으로 효율적인 에너지 사용을 위한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 우리나라에서도 국내 전력 사용량의 20~30%에 해당하는 조명용 에너지를 절약하기 위해 각종 센서를 사용하는 조명 제어에 관련된 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 즉 차세대 에너지 광원으로 LED에 주목하기 시작하였고, 본 논문에서는 이러한 LED를 아두이노와 초음파 센서를 제어하여 에너지 관리 효율을 극대화 하고자 한다. 논문에서는 사용자가 직접 별도의 컨트롤러를 조작해 LED조명을 제어를 하는 것이 아니라, 인체감지인식을 통해 LED조명 on/off를 제어연구를 실험하고 검증하였다. 또한 본 논문에서 개발한 인터페이스를 이용하면 에너지 관리 효율을 극대화 시켜 이를 동반한 상업화 및 효율성을 확대를 꾀할 수 있다.
