가변색온도 가로등 구현을 위한 혼색LED의 조명특성 (A Light Characteristics of Mixed-Color LED for the Variable Color Temperature Street Light)

  • Conventional HP(high pressure) sodium or Metal-halide lamps have a life span of around one year requiring at least annual replacement and maintenance. High Power LED lights require no regular maintenance further increasing savings on replacement bulbs, access equipment and labour costs. New installations benefit from a substantial reduction in the cost of expensive heavy duty cable required for sodium lighting. Especially, LED light can achieve variable color temperature, high functional performance in the field of street light. There are two main method to achieve variable color temperature function of the street light. one method is using RGB multi-chip LED, the other is using Orange-White LED method. In this paper, it was compare RGB Multi-chip LED with white-orange LED for there characteristics performance.

  • 방송 제작현장에서는 영상 이미지 표현의 광원으로 Tungsten Halogen 광원이 주 광원으로 사용 되어 왔다. Tungsten Halogen 광원은 그동안 개발된 다른 광원보다 태양광원과 유사한 색 재현성으로 각광받아 왔지만 에너지 효율성의 문제점을 가지고 있었다. 최근 대체 광원으로 고효율의 에너지와 긴 수명의 LED광원이 방송 광원으로 주목받기 시작했다. LED광원은 독특한 발광원리 때문에 카메라를 통한 영상 이미지의 색 재현성과 광원에서 투사되는 빛의 질에 있어서 Tungsten Halogen광원과 다른 특성을 가지고 있다. 이런 특성은 LED광원이 방송 광원으로서 도입이 늦어지는 이유이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 LED 광원의 색 재현성과 빛의 질 특성인 평탄도를 측정하여 기준광원인 Tungsten Halogen과 비교하여 방송 광원으로써의 적합성에 대한 실험 데이터를 제시할 것이다. 또한 LED광원이 방송 광원으로서의 확산되기 위해서 필요한 점이 무엇인지 향후 과제와 기준을 제시하고자 한다.

  • The purpose of this study is the realization of LED light environment closely resembling the Autumn daylight which people feel comfortable with. This research was conducted through an optical experiment and Emotional evaluation through human's eyes. Human beings are affected by the color of light, quality and light intensity. Unlike the past when human beings have worked mainly in daylight, the urbanites today spend most of the time in indoor spaces. Therefore, the artificial light is needed to strive toward a spectrum of daylight. This study is purposed to provide the pleasant light environment for human beings and build its database. This study course is expected to contribute to the new design methodology of the related fields under the development of the LED emotional lighting color.

LED광원과 형광광원에 의한 작업면의 휘도 및 색온도 비교 (Comparative Luminance and Correlated Color Temperature of Work-place by a Fluorescent and LED Light Sources)

  • According to the tendency of energy efficiency and environment-friendly chracteristics, demend of High-efficiency lighting using LED(Light Emitting Diode)are being increased actively and applied in various fields. However, In order to adequate application of LED light sources, it is necessary to lighting environment and luminous characteristics of LED light sources. This Study aims to characterize the work-plane lighting environment by LED light sources comparing with fluorescent light sources which are widely used. For the sake of this study, a fluorescent light source and 5 LED light sources were introduced and luminance and correlated color temperature were measured to evaluate luminance contrast. The experimental model is Mock-up which is $4.9m{\times}7.2m$ with a height of 2.9m. The test room was set up partition and desks. Luminance and correlated color temperature were measured work-plane on the desk which was set up local lighting by the Radiant Imaging ProMetric 1400. The optical characteristics data of LED can give a lot of advantages to design LED lighting appliances. Hereafter, the object of research will be conducted to evaluate effects of LED light sources on working performance, survey of visual performance, preference and physiology of subjects.

Deep Blue LED 광원과 형광체를 이용한 초고연색 백색 인공태양광 LED 소자의 개발 (Development & Reliability Verification of Ultra-high Color Rendering White Artificial Sunlight LED Device using Deep Blue LED Light Source and Phosphor)

  • Currently, yellow phosphor of Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ (YAG:Ce) fluorescent material is applied to a 450~480nm blue LED light source to implement a white LED device and it has a simple structure, can obtain sufficient luminance, and is economical. However, in this method, in terms of spectrum analysis, it is difficult to mass-produce white LEDs having the same color coordinates due to color separation cause by the wide wavelength gap between blue and yellow band. There is a disadvantage that it is difficult to control optical properties such as color stability and color rendering. In addition, this method does not emit purple light in the range of 380 to 420nm, so it is white without purple color that can not implement the spectrum of the entire visible light spectrum as like sunlight. Because of this, it is difficult to implement a color rendering index(CRI) of 90 or higher, and natural light characteristics such as sunlight can not be expected. For this, need for a method of implementing sunlight with one LED by using a method of combining phosphors with one light source, rather than a method of combining red, blue, and yellow LEDs. Using this method, the characteristics of an artificial sunlight LED device with a spectrum similar to that of sunlight were demonstrated by implementing LED devices of various color temperatures with high color rendering by injecting phosphors into a 405nm deep blue LED light source. In order to find the spectrum closest to sunlight, different combinations of phosphors were repeatedly fabricated and tested. In addition, reliability and mass productivity were verified through temperature and humidity tests and ink penetration tests.

단일칩 LED와 RGB 멀티칩 LED의 백색광 특성 및 색 보임에 대한 주관평가 연구 (The Subjective Evaluation on White Light Property and Color Appearance of Single Chip LED and RGB Multi Chip LED)

  • To produce the white light, there are a single chip method using the blue light and phosphor coating, a multi chip method by mixing R, G, B light.. Multi chip method is proper for the smart lighting system by controling color and color temperature. And color rendering of single chip LED is good by even spectral distribution. To apply application technic like smart light system, this paper analyzed the properties of single chip LED and RGB multi chip LED, and implemented the 2 part subject evaluation for single chip LED and RGB multi chip LED. The first part is comparison of properties for single chip LED and RGB multi chip and second part is color appearance evaluation of 8 colors in each lighting environment.

LED 무대조명용 정전류 구동회로의 설계 (A design of constant current driving circuit for LED stage light)

  • According to recent technological developments in high-power LEDs, the stage lighting is one of most important areas to apply power LED system. Moving light for color rendering of stage uses the RGBW(red, green, blue, white) color mixing method. LED moving light system needs to have a wide range of dimming control as enough to operate at very low power. Also LED dimming system should not be induced color-shift and flicker in camera. This paper is experimentally verified the LED Moving Light driving circuit of 200Watt level designed to satisfy the above characteristics which applied the DC current-controlled and PWM mixed dimming method.

  • 최근, 에너지 절감 및 환경보전의 한 방법으로서 LED광원을 이용한 고효율 조명기기의 요구가 증가하고 있다. 그러나 LED광원을 이용한 조명기기는 실내공간의 용도 및 사용자에 대한 고려를 배제한 채, 색상 및 패턴이 결정되어 시각적 불쾌감을 초래하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 LED광원을 이용한 국부조명의 CCT의 변화가 작업자의 시작업 성능에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 실내공간의 용도 및 사용자를 고려한 조명 설계에 기초자료를 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구를 위해 2 종류의 LED광원과 1종류의 형광광원을 선정하였으며, 대학생 30명을 대상으로 오류수정작업과 읽기작업에 대한 정확도 및 소요시간을 평가하였다. 시작업 성능평가 결과, LED광원에서 오류수정 작업의 정확도는 형광광원에 비해 최대 2.5[%]가 증가되었으며, 소요시간은 최대 17.1[%]가 감소되었다. 또한 읽기작업 결과 소요시간은 LED광원에서 20.6[%]가 감소하였다.

고출력 3색 LED를 이용한 휴대용 무영등의 개발 (Development of Portable Astral Light using the High Power 3-Color LEDs)

  • 본 연구에서는 의료용 신조명 부품으로 주목받고 있는 고출력 LED를 사용해 구강구조 확인을 위한 치과영역, 진료 및 수술실에서 환부에 대한 작은 범위(국소부위)의 무영 촬영이 가능한 휴대용 LED Light를 설계 개발하였다. 개발에 적용한 LED는 피사체 고유의 Tone에 대한 섬세한 표현력과 입체감을 부각시키기 위해 다양한 색상 구현 및 광량조절이 가능하도록 3색 LED를 사용했다. 사용된 LED의 전기적 특성 및 광학적 특성을 고려해 고효율의 Light Module를 개발했으며 휴대 사용을 위해 낮은 전압에서도 구동이 가능한 SMPS를 제작했다. 또한 PWM 제어방식을 이용해 단색광부터 백색광까지 32,768개의 다양한 색상 구현이 가능했다.

Kobayashi 스케일과 I.R.I 스케일을 사용한 LED 광색의 형용사 이미지 분석 (The Analysis of Emotion Adjective for LED Light Colors by using Kobayashi scale and I.R.I scale)

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the emotion adjectives for light emitting diode(LED) light colors using a twofold adjective image scales from Kobayashi and I.R.I. A set of psychophysical experiments using category judgment was conducted in an LED light color simulation system, in order to evaluate each emotion scale coordinate for those test light colors in both adjective image scales. In total, 49 test light colors from a combination of 6 color series were assessed by 15 human observers. As a result, Kobayashi adjective image scale clearly expressed to emotion adjectives of 'Dynamic', 'Casual', 'Chic', 'Cool-casual', 'Modern', and 'Natural' for different hues. In contrast, I.R.I adjective image scale expressed only 2 adjectives of 'dynamic' and 'luxurious' for the all hues.
