Optical Camera Communication Based Lateral Vehicle Position Estimation Scheme Using Angle of LED Street Lights (LED 가로등의 각도를 이용한 광카메라통신기반 횡방향 차량 위치추정 기법)

  • Lane detection technology is one of the most important issues on car safety and self-driving capability of autonomous vehicle. This paper introduces an accurate lane detection scheme based on OCC(Optical Camera Communication) for moving vehicles. For lane detection of moving vehicles, the streetlights and the front camera of the vehicle were used for a transmitter and a receiver, respectively. Based on the angle information of multiple streetlights in a captured image, the distance from sidewalk can be calculated using non-linear regression analysis. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme shows robust performance of accurate lane detection.

  • In this paper, a photoelectric image detection system is proposed using an APD(Avalanche Photodiode) sensor, a LED illuminator, and fiberoptic waveguides. This proposed pinhole detection system can detect the pinholes of 100 micron with the speed rate of 1,000mpm(meter per minute). And detecting performance of image system is improved by the SQL based DB analysis of classifying pinhole's detected location and size using image detection algorithms.

  • In this paper, we introduce a passive transponder in which an LED is used for both a light transmitter and a receiver, and a solar cell is used for supplying power to the all devices in the transponder. The LED in the transponder operates as a photodetector in the receiving mode, and acts as a light source in the transmitting mode. The current responsivity of the LED detector was measured to be in the order of $10^{-4}A/W$, and the receiving bandwidth with a load resistance of $10k{\Omega}$ was about 10 to 30 kHz. Using the LED for an optical transceiver in a VLID transponder, the detection range was about 70 cm when the transponder was illuminated by the visible light from a $3{\times}3$ LED array in a reader.

  • In this paper, we demonstrate that indoor wireless optical communication is possible with an LED and a solar cell. A lighting LED is used for lighting and signal transmission. A solar cell is used for collecting light energy and signal detection. This scheme is very useful because transmission is possible without any additional communication systems. In experiments, wireless optical communication was carried out at a data rate of 9.6 kbps using a lighting LED and a solar cell.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient control system for intelligent LED indoor lighting. The proposed an efficient control system for intelligent LED indoor lighting were included to elements such as daylight intensity measured through the PIR sensor and illuminance sensor at lighting style by the schedule defined and the occupancy detection. And it was controlled lighting through to the wireless sensor network, and was designed for the energy savings. Also, the lighting control of indoor lighting based on occupancy detection detect fine movements using a PIR sensor. And an unnecessary lighting intensity control of the window-side and the inside were controlled according to daylight level measurement result using the light sensor. In daylight inflow many case, the window-side lighting was to automatically darker, and in daylight inflow less case, was designed to be automatically bright. The efficiency validate results of an efficient control system for intelligent LED indoor lighting, the brightness of the indoor light were to maximize the energy saving by controlling in real time when entering as indoor a little that external lighting or daylight.

  • A light-emitting diode (LED) has been increasingly applied to various industrial fields and general lightings because of its high efficiency, low power consumption, environment-friendly characteristic and long lifetime. To drive this LED lighting, various types of power converters have been applied. Also, power factor correction (PFC) techniques play an important role in the power supply technology. In this paper, design and control of a DCM interleaved boost PFC converter is discussed. The proposed converter can reduce current ripples at input and output side by cancelling an each phase of inductor currents. Since the IC does not require the auxiliary winding of inductor for current detection, simple PFC circuit is achieved. Therefore, it contributes to increase efficiency and downsize the whole system volume, cost. Also, the performance of the proposed system is demonstrated through experiments.

  • We propose new identification method of LED location in indoor environment. It can transmit and receive position information and additional data, as applying OOK-SS watermarking method for LED transmission signal. Especially, we use a unipolar form code for watermarking spread code, because LED signal has unipolar characteristic. we analysis LED signal influence and interference with watermarking code, demonstrate usefulness of LED-ID using OOK-SS Watermarking.

  • LED is divided to multichannel in order not to exceed a certain voltage in aspects of electric standard. However, it's not possible to know in accordance with what channel SMPS controls the constant voltage and current. In order to solve this problem, it needs to detect the maximum LED String voltage which is applied to LED control circuit, and it is possible to minimize the voltage drop when a difference of LED string voltage occurs by each channel if LED is controlled by the maximum LED string voltage detected. In addition, it is also possible to maximize the efficiency of LED if change LED voltage by detecting the maximum voltage. Feasibility of this claim was verified through implementation of the circuit.

  • Inorganic III-V light emitting diodes (LEDs) have superior characteristics, such as long-term stability, high efficiency, and strong brightness compared to conventional incandescent lamps and OLED. However, due to the brittle property of bulk inorganic semiconductor materials, III-V LED limits its applications in the field of high performance flexible electronics. This seminar introduces the first flexible and implantable GaN LED on plastic substrates that is transferred from bulk GaN on Si substrates. The superb properties of the flexible GaN thin film in terms of its wide band gap and high efficiency enable the dramatic extension of not only consumer electronic applications but also the biosensing scale. The flexible white LEDs are demonstrated for the feasibility of using a white light source for future flexible BLU devices. Finally a water-resist and a biocompatible PTFE-coated flexible LED biosensor can detect PSA at a detection limit of 1 ng/mL. These results show that the nitride-based flexible LED can be used as a type of implantable LED biosensor and as a therapy tool.

  • 본 논문은 고출력 LED를 이용하여 대한민국 경찰청 및 지방경찰청 과학수사에 사용하는 지문감식을 위한 효과적인 휴대용 교광원에 관한 연구이다. 최근 광반도체(光半導體) 관련 형광물질 등 원천기술의 획기적인 R&D가 진행 중에 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 산업체는 물론 생활주변에 사용되는 핸드폰 백라이트, LED 평면광원, 가로등용 LED광원, 오징어잡이에 사용되는 집어용 LED, OLED, CNT 광원 등에 적용되는 기술을 광학적 논리를 근거로 하여 고고학에 적용되는 문화재, 미술품의 진품감정, 지문현출을 통한 지문감식 등에 적용하기 위한 연구이다. 미국 유럽 남미 등에서 개발하여 과학수사에 사용하고 있는 교광원은 기동성 및 휴대하기에 매우 무겁고 고가이다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 LED 신광원 UV 파장을 이용하여 지문현출 및 지문감식 등에 적용하면 소형경량화가 가능하여 무게와 부피를 급감할 수 있으며, 휴대가 간편하여 기동성이 뛰어나고 신속정확하게 매우 효과적으로 감정 및 감식이 가능하여 그 기대 효과가 매우 우수하다. 이러한 장점을 조명공학 및 광학적 이론을 근거로 지속적인 연구개발을 추진하여 국산화된 세계적인 신제품 개발을 위해 타당성을 검토 고찰하였다.
