Reliability analysis test of high brightness micro optical component and module (고휘도 마이크로 광부품 / 모듈의 신뢰성 분석 시험)

  • Researches about micro technology travel lively in these days. Such many researches are concentrated in the field of materials and a process field. But properties of micro materials should be known to give results of research developed into still more. In these various material properties, reliability data such as mechanical, optical, thermal property, etc is the basic property. In this paper, it is measured that is material properties of main BLU(Back Light Unit) components in LCD(Liquid Crystal Display). The pattern shape of prism sheet, diffuser film and reflective plate are measured by variable 3D scanning equipments. It is researched which is the method to measure an optimal 3D pattern shape in each components.

Surface characteristics on the optical pattern die of light guiding plate by machining types (가공방법에 따른 소형 도광판용 광학패턴 금형의 표면특성연구)

  • Micro pattern is applied to the light guiding plate(LGP) to enhance the uniformity of the brightness of the LCD. The micro cones are molded in intaglio on the surface of the LGP. The surface roughness of each cone was 40nm and 38nm in negative and positive die for laser ablation. In chemical etching, the surface roughness was 25nm, 24nm in negative and positive. And the surface roughness of negative and positive dies were 4nm and 5nm for LIGA-reflow process.

  • The wide viewing angle and fast response time characteristics of negative dielectric anisotropy nematic liquid crystal (NLC) using a novel vertical-alignment (VA) - 1/4 ${\pi}$ cell mode on a homeotropic alignment layer were investigated. Good voltage-transmittance curves and low driving voltage using the novel VA - 1/4 ${\pi}$ cell mode without a negative compensation film were obtained. The iso-viewing angle characteristics of NLC using the novel VA - 1/4 ${\pi}$ cell mode without a negative compensation film can be achieved. The fast response time of 24.4 ms in NLC was successfully measured. The iso-viewing angle, fast response time, and low driving voltage characteristics using the novel VA - 1/4 ${\pi}$ cell mode can be achieved.

  • This paper presents the interactive behavior modeling method based on POMDP (Partially Observable Markov Decision Process) for HRI (Human-Robot Interaction). HRI seems similar to conversational interaction in point of interaction between human and a robot. The POMDP has been popularly used in conversational interaction system. The POMDP can efficiently handle uncertainty of observable variables in conversational interaction system. In this paper, the input variables of the proposed conversational HRI system in POMDP are the input information of sensors and the log of used service. The output variables of system are the name of robot behaviors. The robot behavior presents the motion occurred from LED, LCD, Motor, sound. The suggested conversational POMDP-based HRI system was applied to an emotional robot KIBOT. In the result of human-KIBOT interaction, this system shows the flexible robot behavior in real world.

  • Recently, high vacuum pumps are widely used in the semi-conduction and liquid-crystal display ( LCD ) process. The composite-type high vacuum pumps are widely used in the various processes. In this study, the pumping performance of composite-type molecular pumps has been investigated experimentally. The experimented pumps are a compound molecular pump ( CMP ) and hybrid molecular pump ( HMP ). The CMP consists with helical-type drag pump, at lower part, and with turbomolecular pump ( TMP ), at upper part. The HMP consists with disk-type drag pump, at lower part, and with TMP, at upper part. The experiments are performed in the outlet pressure of $0.2\;{\sim}\;533\;Pa$.   • Next generation displays such as high performance LCD, AMOLED, flexible display and transparent display require specific TFT back-planes. For high performance TFT back-planes, low temperature poly silicon (LTPS), and metal-oxide semiconductors are studied. Flexible TFT backplanes require low temperature processible organic semiconductors. Not only development of active semiconducting materials but also design and synthesis of semiconductor corresponding gate dielectric materials are important issues in those display back-planes. In this study, we investigate the high heat resistant polymeric gate dielectric materials for organic TFT and inorganic TFT with good insulating properties and processing chemical resistance. We also controlled and optimized surface energy and morphology of gate dielectric layers for direct printing process with solution processible organic and inorganic semiconductors.

Femto-Second Laser Glass Cutting for Flat Panel Display (펨토초 레이저를 이용한 평판 디스플레이 유리기판 절단 연구)

  • A laser glass cutting system using a femto-second laser was evaluated for Flat Panel Display (FPD) glass. A theoretical analysis of the ablation threshold and depth is described using an explicit analytic form. Experiments for clean and deep grooves were performed using a 3W femto-second laser, and the relationships between the input energy and the scribing depth as well as the threshold energy are presented. Mechanical breaking after the scribing process was carried out and the results are compared with a theoretical method. It was found that a two-sided LCD panel glass can be cut clearly using the laser cutting method. The methodology was found to be very effective as a mass-production cutting system.

  • In the design stage of high precision manufacturing/inspection FAB facilities, it is necessary to investigate the allowable vibration limits of high precision equipments and to study structural dynamic characteristics of C/R and Sub-structure in order to provide structural vibration criteria to satisfy these allowable limits. The goal of this study is to investigate the dynamic characteristics of PC-Type mock-up structures designed for next generation TFT-LCD FAB through experiments and analysis procedures. Therefore, in order to provide a proper dynamic structural design for high precision manufacturing/inspection work process, these allowable limits must be satisfied.

  • In this research, we present color filter which is patterned by screen printing method. Analysis of screen printing process, screen printing system, experiment for uniform printing in large area, characteristics of screen printed CF are investigated .In spite of limitation of precision, screen printed color filter is very cost- effective in respect of manufacturing facility and ink usage.

  • We have designed high performance prism light-guide plate (LGP) in 17 inch TFT-LCD. In test result to embody high brightness BLU in case of LGP of base and upper surface with 17 inch, thickness 8 mm adding prism construct, it is superior brightness improvement than previous that of printing form about some 20% and in this course to embody actual material it succeeded prism LGP production by 17 inch injection form process.
