A Study on the finish work applicability of Color Chip input Inorganic Floor-covering (칼라칩(Color Chip)을 혼입한 무기질 바닥재의 바닥 마감공법 적용성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the following conclusions are drawn. First, the Inorganic terazzo tile flooring and LCC (Life Cycle Cost) analysis showed that the sum of the total cost of 150,304 won Inorganic flooring, terrazzo tile flooring minerals won 186,202 to 35,898 won, compared to 8.22% analysis of the cost savings that have been appearing. Second, if the color chip has a unique and elegant sentence patterns, beautiful and high-strength bonding and that the crack resistance was investigated.

  • It has taken a growing interest about environmental problems such as global warming and water pollution. Because of intensified environmental problems, it would be going on the research about environmental preservation and harmful factor reduction. Also, it makes ISO to show the quantitative data about LCA analysis. The research of LCA method in the domestic construction industry has advanced stealing from a national point of view. In this study, it would be possible to confirm the feasibility of a plan by LCA analysis. Moreover, the result of life cycle cost which deliberate the influence cost of environment in the steps of material production, construction, maintenance, and disposal has made to be 74,819,560,776 won in a plan and 78,979.469,602won in alternative. That is, it would analysis for a plan to reduce 4,159,908,826 won for alternative.

  • It is connected with various gauges existing in Euro-Asian continents. Such differences impedes the operation seriously as on the contact of railway tracks of different gauge the cargo must be either transshipped or the running assemblies of rail vehicles must be exchanged. Those operations are costly, time-consuming and require extended infrastructure together with very expensive storage and transshipment facilities at border-crossing point. Moreover, those operations extend transportation time considerably. Therefore, effectiveness of railway transportation systems significantly depends on track gauge change 1435/1520mm, which connects with complicated handling-shifting operations. The paper concerns assessment of effectiveness in strategical rail systems with gauge changing. The paper presents short description of transport system with gauge changing and initial assessment of shifting technologies. Method of system assessment comparison based on Life Cycle Cost model is described here as well.

A Study on the Optimal Energy Mix Model in Buildings with OEMGD Algorithm Focusing on Ground Source Heat Pump and District Heating & Cooling System (OEMGD 알고리즘을 이용한 건물 냉난방용 최적 에너지 믹스 모델에 관한 연구 - 지열히트펌프와 지역냉난방 시스템을 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to promote consumer interest in Geothermal Heat Pump (Ground Source Heat Pump, GSHP) and district heating and cooling (District Heating & Cooling, DHC) systems, which are competing with each other in the heating and cooling field. Considering not only the required cost data of energy itself, but also external influence factors, the optimal mix ratio of these two energy systems was studied as follows. The quantitative data of the two energy systems was entered into a database and the non-quantitative factors of external influence were applied in the form of coefficients. Considering both of these factors, the optimal mix ratio of GSHP and DHC systems and minimum Life Cycle Cost (LCC) were obtained using an algorithm model design. The Optimal Energy Mix of GSHP & DHC (OEMGD) algorithm was developed using a software program (Octave 4.0). The numerical result was able to reflect the variety of external influence factors through the OEMGD algorithm. The OEMGD model found that the DHC system is more economical than the GSHP system and was able to represent the optimal energy mix ratio and LCC of mixed energy systems according to changes in the external influences. The OEMGD algorithm could be of help to improve the consumers' experience and rationalize their energy usage.

  • Railway fields are complicatedly connected with engineering such as physics, civil engineering, architecture engineering, electrical engineering (Telecommunication, signal, catenary, system), machine engineering and performance phase of project in domestic railway can be divided with four steps : planning, design, supervision, construction.   • In this study, a design value analysis technique that considered stochastic LCC and stochastic performance evaluation was proposed, and by introducing the concept of reliability analysis, a decision making that secured reliability was supported. The results of this study, which was carried out according to the above objectives and methods, are summarized as follows: 1) The design value analysis procedures and value state function, improved in order to carry out a reliable analysis when evaluating alternate proposals that were extracted after the function definition was complete, were formalized, and in order to secure consistency and efficiency for value evaluation procedures, an evaluation index scheme was proposed; 2) Database collection and analysis were done for a bridge's LCC analysis. As for the collection scope of data, literature of previous research done on a bridge's LCC analysis was used as the basis for analysis, and for securing reliability regarding analysis results and dealing with uncertainty of collected data, the MCS technique was applied; 3) Weights and evaluation ranks for performance evaluation of each of the alternate proposals, as well as LCC analysis model, analysis period, discount rate, user expense, safety inspection and safety diagnosis expense conditions for LCC analysis were proposed. Lastly, a feasibility study was done and conclusion was made about "OO grand bridge and connecting road construction work execution design" project centered on value analysis execution case.

Economic Assessment of the Heat Recovery from Incineration Plants Based on Regression Analysis (회귀분석을 이용한 소각장의 소각열 회수 경제성 분석 연구)

  • This study aims at providing an economic assessment for incineration plants which recover heat during its incineration process. In this study, Life Cycle Cost(LCC) of incineration plants is performed based on each regression analysis formula for construction cost, operation cost, and heat generation in order to compare economic feasibility. The result shows that the incineration plant recovering waste heat while processing 80 tons of waste per day increases both initial investment and operation cost but this type of an incineration plant has economical predominance from the recovered waste heat over the one that does not recover heat when being operated for more than eleven years if the retrieved heat replaces the use of LNG. And its payback time reaches more than 19 years in case of selling heat and performing emission trading.

  • A realistic lifetime seismic-reliability based approach is unavoidable to perform Life-Cycle Cost (LCC)-effective optimum design, maintenance, and retrofitting of structures against seismic risk. So far, though a number of researchers have proposed the LCC-based seismic design and retrofitting methodologies, most researchers have only focused on the methodological point. Accordingly, in most works, they have not been quantitatively considered critical factors such as the effects of seismic retrofit, maintenance, and environmental stressors on lifetime seismic reliability assessment of deteriorating structures. Thus, in this study, a systemic lifetime seismic reliability analysis methodology is proposed and a program HPYER-DRAIN2DX-DS is developed to perform the desired lifetime seismic reliability analysis. To demonstrate the applicability of the program, it is applied to an example bridge with or without seismic retrofit and maintenance strategies. From the numerical investigation, it may be positively stated that HYPER-DRAIN2DX-DS can be utilized as a useful numerical tool for LCC-effective optimum seismic design, maintenance, and retrofitting of bridges.

Evaluation of Environmental and Economic Impacts of Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plants with Life Cycle Assessment (고도 하수처리장의 전과정평가에 따른 환경성 및 경제성 평가)

  • A lot of existing wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are rebuilt or retrofitted for advanced wastewater treatment processes to cope with reinforced effluent criteria of nitrogen and phosphorous. Moreover, how to treat the wasted sludge from WWTPs has been also issued since the discharge of the wasted sludge into ocean is impossible from 2011 due to the London Convention 97 protocol. These trend changes of WWTPs get a motivation to assess environmental and economic impacts from the construction stage to the waste stage in WWTPs. Therefore, this study focuses on evaluation of environmental and economic impacts of the advanced wastewater treatment processes and waste sludge treatment process by using life cycle assessment. Four advanced wastewater treatment processes of Anaerobic/Anoxic/Oxic ($A_2O$), 5 stages-Bamard Denitrification Phosphate (Bardenpho), Virginia Initiative Plant (VIP), and Modified University of Cape Town (MUCT) are chosen to compare the conventional activated sludge (CAS) and three waste sludge treatment methods of land fill, incineration, and composting are used. To evaluate environmental and economic impacts of each advanced wastewater treatment processes, life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle cost (LCC) are conducted based on International organization for standardization (ISO) guidelines. The results clearly represent that the $A_2O$ process with composting shows 52% reduction in the environmental impact than the CAS process with landfill. On the other hand, the MUCT process with composting is able to save 62% of the life cycle cost comparing with the CAS process with landfill. This result suggested the qualitative and quantitative criteria for evaluating eco-environmental and economic technologies of advanced treatment processes and also sludge treatment method, where their main influence factors on environmental and economic impacts are analyzed, respectively. The proposed method could be useful for selecting the most efficient and eco-friendly wastewater treatment process and sludge treatment method when retrofitting the existing WWTPs to advanced treatments.

Performance Evaluation and Economic Estimation of Ground Source Heat Pump Cooling and Heating System (지열 냉난방 시스템의 성능 및 경제성 평가)

  • Performance evaluation and economic estimation were conducted on the water to water GSHP (Ground Source Heat Pump) installed in existing building. Ground heat exchanger was a closed vertical loop type and sized to be 5 boreholes and 100m depth per borehole. Operation efficiency of the system shows that, COP increased from 3.0 to 4.2 with entering water temperature in heating operation, however, COP decreased from 5.0 to 3.7 in cooling operation. Economic estimation was analyzed by LCC (Life Cycle Cost) method and it showed that GSHP could save 68% of cost compare to the conventional oil source. Thus, despite of the large amount of initial cost, GSHP has a economic advantage to the other energy sources.
