There is a two lane ECTS(Electronic Toll Collection System) that users can pass with 80kph high speed in SeoBusan Tall Gate. This system to be combined two hi-pass lanes for removing meddle-island have been operated successfully. But, the appearance of two Lane ETCS makes toll gate more complicated, so it is very important how to arrange effectively various tolling lanes. This study was trying to evaluate lane configuration for minimizing speed and speed deviation among all kinds of lanes including two Lane ETCS in seoul toll gate. That is, we selected all scenarios to be happened actually, and evaluated them using micro traffic simulation model (VISSIM). The results of this study showed that each alternative had a very different speed and speed deviation by lane each other, so we will be able to achieve effective operation and configuration of lanes in toll gate using scenario methodology.
We investigate a cool loop and a dark lane over a limb active region on 2007 March 14 by the Hinode/EUV Imaging Spectrometer (EIS). The cool loop is clearly seen in the EIS spectral lines formed at the transition region temperature (log T = 5.8). The dark lane is characterized by an elongated faint structure in coronal spectral lines (log T = 5.8 - 6.1) and rooted on a bright point. We examine their electron densities, Doppler velocities, and non-thermal velocities as a function of distance from the limb using the spectral lines formed at different temperatures (log T = 5.4 - 6.4). The electron densities of the cool loop and the dark lane are derived from the density sensitive line pairs of Mg VII, Fe XII, and Fe XIV spectra. Under the hydrostatic equilibrium and isothermal assumption, we determine their temperatures from the density scale height. Comparing the scale height temperatures to the peak formation temperatures of the spectral lines, we note that the scale height temperature of the cool loop is consistent with a peak formation temperature of the Mg VII (log T = 5.8) and the scale height temperature of the dark lane is close to a peak formation temperature of the Fe XII and Fe XIII (log T = 6.1 - 6.2). It is interesting to note that the structures of the cool loop and the dark lane are most visible in these temperature lines. While the non-thermal velocity in the cool loop slightly decreases (less than 7 km $s^{-1}$) along the loop, that in the dark lane sharply falls off with height. The variation of non-thermal velocity with height in the cool loop and the dark lane is contrast to that in off-limb polar coronal holes which are considered as source of the fast solar wind. Such a decrease in the non-thermal velocity may be explained by wave damping near the solar surface or turbulence due to magnetic reconnection near the bright point.
This study was performed to investigate impacts of truck lane restrictions on multilane highways on traffic flow variables such as average speed, the frequency of lane changes, and change in traffic volume and also to verify whether or not different lane restriction scenarios were proper. Two types of hypothetical highway networks and OD demands were developed for traffic simulation models in order to conduct the experimental study. Three types of scenarios were also developed according to the number of restricted lanes for trucks. The PARAMICS microscopic traffic simulation software package was used as the primary analytical tool. Statistical analysis was conducted with simulation outputs. Results showed that truck lane restrictions may lead to positive impacts on traffic flow on multilane highways. In addition, this study demonstrated that the number of restricted lanes can be very an important factor to lead successful implementation of truck lane restrictions.

Seoul and many large cities in Korea have implemented Median Exclusive Bus Lane(MEB). But exclusive bus lane in the middle of the road caused new contradictions between left turn movement and through bus movement and several signal operation techniques like 'left turn Protected' and 'overlap phase' couldn't be applied in intersections on MEB. We suggest 'Bus-only Signal for median lane technique as solution of these problems This study presents optimum signal time design process and detailed algorithms for intersections where bus-only signals are installed. As a test field. we took Yang-Je intersection where Median Exclusive Bus Lane go through. and have large gap in volume of left turn in main direction. And we verified that revised optimum signal time including overlap phase can reduce average delay time of vehicle through before and after simulation.

This study focuses on operational analysis of 2 types of intersection shared lanes. First, the analysis showed that a through & right-turn shared lane is always less used than the adjacent through-only lanes and as a result, operational efficiency deteriorates. To improve the efficiency fine-tuning in signal timing optimization using lane-by-lane traffic volume data is required. Further improvement can be achieved by guiding drivers to equally use the shared lane. For left-turn & U-turn shared lanes, it was found that saturation flow rate is affected by interference between U-turn and conflicting right-turn movements. However, since such interference does not occur in every cycle, a statistical model must be established to develop realistic adjustment factor for saturation flow rate of the shared lane.

The Electronic Toll Collection System based on Free-Flow Multi-Lane is needed to solve some yearly problems such as traffic congestion, safety accident, maintenance by hold-up of one way hi-pass system. The hi-pass communication system is first-in, first-out method in one way environment so, it can't handle various running patterns such as vehicle platoon, switching lane and passing in multi-lane environment. In this thesis we compared and analyzed the communication system of foreign countries ETCS operating system and domestic hi-pass communication system, then studied communication system which can run in multiple-way accepting existing hi-pass OBU. And we formed the communication system of Free-Flow Multi-Lane environment as a plan using incoherent of IR antenna and coherent of RF antenna. The communication system in Free-Flow Multi-Lane environment can be used not alone in parking garages but in expressways of ETCS and toll roads from now on.

In this paper, a method for predicting the speed for each lane from the link speed using an artificial neural network is presented to increase the accuracy of predicting the required time of a driving route. The time required for passing through a link is observed differently depending on the direction of going straight, turning right, or turning left at the intersection of the end of the link. Therefore, it is necessary to predict the speed according to the vehicle's traveling direction. Data required for learning and verification were constructed by refining the data measured at the Gongpyeong intersection of Gukchaebosang-ro in Daegu Metropolitan City and four adjacent intersections around it. Five neural network models were used. In addition, error analysis of the prediction was performed to select a neural network experimentally suitable for the research purpose. Experimental results showed that the error in the estimation of the time required for each lane decreased by 17.4% for the straight lane, 4.4% for the right-turn lane, and 3.9% for the left-turn lane. This experiment is the result of analyzing only one link. If the entire pathway is tested, the effect is expected to be greater.

An automatic freeway bus-only lane enforcement system was developed and assessed in a real-world environment. Observation of a bus-only lane on the Youngdong freeway, South Korea, revealed that approximately 99% of the vehicles violated the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane regulation. However, the current enforcement by the police not only exhibits a low enforcement rate, but also induces unnecessary safety and delay concerns. Since vehicles with six passengers or higher are permitted to enter freeway bus-only lanes, identifying the number of passengers in a vehicle is a core technology required for a freeway bus-only lane enforcement system. To that end, infrared cameras and the You Only Look Once (YOLOv5) deep learning algorithm were utilized. For assessment of the performance of the developed system, two environments, including a controlled test-bed and a real-world freeway, were used. As a result, the performances under the test-bed and the real-world environments exhibited 7% and 8% errors, respectively, indicating satisfactory outcomes. The developed system would contribute to an efficient freeway bus-only lane operations as well as eliminate safety and delay concerns caused by the current manual enforcement procedures.
