Objectives: This study was conducted to characterize the symptoms, mental health, quality of life (QoL), and associated factors following the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 394 participants previously infected with COVID-19 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Mental health was assessed using the 21-item Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21). Participants self-reported health-related QoL was measured with the EuroQol 5-Dimension 5-Level (EQ-5D-5L) scale. Results: Among the participants, 76.4% reported experiencing at least one symptom following COVID-19 infection. The most common symptoms were fatigue (42.1%), cognitive dysfunction (42.9%), and hair loss (27.9%). According to the DASS-21 results, the proportions of depression, anxiety, and stress were 28.7%, 26.4%, and 20.6%, respectively. The mean scores on the EQ-5D-5L and the EuroQol Visual Analog Scale were 0.94±0.11 and 84.20±13.11, respectively. Regarding QoL issues, the highest proportion of participants (32.7%) reported experiencing anxiety or depression, followed by pain or discomfort (25.4%). Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that factors associated with the presence of symptoms following COVID-19 infection included female (odds ratio [OR], 2.84; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.65 to 4.91) and having QoL issues (OR, 3.25; 95% CI, 1.71 to 6.19). Conclusions: The study investigated the prevalence rates of various symptoms following COVID-19 infection. These findings underscore the need to prioritize comprehensive care for individuals recovering from COVID-19 and to implement strategies to mitigate the long-term impact of the disease on mental health and QoL.
Kang and Ko introduced a skew-symmetrizable matrix to describe a structure theorem for complete intersections of grade 4. Let $R=k[w_0,\;w_1,\;w_2,\;{\ldots},\;w_m]$ be the polynomial ring over an algebraically closed field k with indetermiantes $w_l$ and deg $w_l=1$, and $I_i$ a homogeneous perfect ideal of grade 3 with type $t_i$ defined by a skew-symmetrizable matrix $G_i(1{\leq}t_i{\leq}4)$. We show that for m = 2 the Hilbert function of the zero dimensional standard k-algebra $R/I_i$ is determined by CI-sequences and a Gorenstein sequence. As an application of this result we show that for i = 1, 2, 3 and for m = 3 a Gorenstein sequence $h(R/H_i)=(1,\;4,\;h_2,\;{\ldots},\;h_s)$ is unimodal, where $H_i$ is the sum of homogeneous perfect ideals $I_i$ and $J_i$ which are geometrically linked by a homogeneous regular sequence z in $I_i{\cap}J_i$.
A Pseudomonas fluorescens was selected from mushrooms and studied in both batch and fed-batch cultures in order to get maximal biomass concentration. P. fluorescens is an aerobic bacterium and antagonistic to Pseudomonas tolaasii which causes blotch disease on the mushroom cap. P fluarescens and P. tolaasii were identified by Gram staining, gelatin liquefaction, oxidase test, etc. and were characterized by pigment production, temperature sensitivity, salt tolerance and rapid pitting test, etc., Celts of P. fluorescens well in medium containing 30g/L of glucose, whereas the growth was inhibited at the glucose levels at higher than 30g/L. The highest values of specific growth rate and productivity were obtained when using 10g/1 of yeast extract. Optimum concentrations of $NH_4Cl$ and ${(NH_4Cl)}_2SO_4$ for culture were found to be 1.0g/L and 0.1g/L respectively. Optimum concentration of $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$ used as a sulfursource was 1.0g/L. It was also found that the cell concentrations reached the maximum level when grown on the medium containing 1.0g/L of $KH_2PO_4$ and 0.1g/L of $CaCl_2$. Also, the optimum culture conditions were $30^{\circ}C$ and pH 6.0. Cultivation of P. fluarescens at high dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration led to a decrease of bacterial productivity in batch culture. Maximum productivity was achieved at 40% DO concentration.
Mesoporous carbon-silica composites supported Pt nanoparticle catalysts (Pt/MCS) were firstly applied to the heterogeneous asymmetric hydrogenation of ethyl 2-oxo-4-phenylbutyrate (EOPB). A series of different silica contents were investigated in the fabrication of this mesoporous material. When the volume of added tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) during the preparation of composites is 8 mL, Pt/MCS-8 holds carbon and silica as the main components and possesses relatively strong acidity, mesoporous structures with micropores, appropriate Pt nanoparticle size and high dispersibility showing by XRD, XPS, TPD, $N_2$ sorption and TEM. These properties cause its good catalytic performance in the heterogeneous asymmetric hydrogenation of EOPB with the enantiomeric excess value and conversion up to 85.6% and 97.8%, respectively.

The dependence of magnetoresistance (MR) ratio on various variables like the thickness of the second Co layer, on the presence of cap layer, on deposition field (Hdep) and on annealing in Co/Cu/Co sandwiches was investigated. Spin-valve sandwiches were deposited on the corning glass by means of the 3-gun dcmagnetron sputtering at a 5 mTorr partial Ar pressure and room temperature. The deposition field was varied from 70 Oe to 720 Oe. The MR curve was measured by the four-terminal method with applied magnetic field up to 1000 Oe perpendicular to the direction of a current in the film plne. The MR ratio of glass/Fe(50${\AA}$)/Co(17${\AA}$)/Cu(24${\AA}$)/Cot(${\AA}$) fabricated by making 50 ${\AA}$ of Fe buffer layer has the maximum value of 8.2% when the thickness of the second Co layer was 17${\AA}$and the deposition field was 350 Oe. In the case of glass/Fe(50${\AA}$)/Co(17${\AA}$)/Cu(24${\AA}$)/Cot(${\AA}$) with Cu cap layer on top, the decrease in the MR ratio seemed to relate with the oxidation of the second Co layer. Samples prepared with deposition field showed greater MR ratios through the formation of more complete spin valve films. After annealing for 2 hours at 300$^{\circ}C$, the MR ratio of the samples prepared with deposition field decreased rapidly while the MR raito of the sample prepared without the field remained.
The allergenicity of soybeans was analyzed using polyclonal antibodies and the blood sera of patients with soybean allergy, using fourteen different varieties of soybeans that are consumed in Korea. The study that used polyclonal antibodies having specificity for soybeans showed that while some of the fourteen varieties of soybeans contained additional protein bands indicating antigenicity, others lacked such bands, and the most antigenic protein was found in Jinpum soybeans. In comparing blood sera reactivity of four patients having soybean allergies, who had antigenicity values of 65U/ml or more according to CAP testing, the soybean varieties of Danbaek and Shinpaldal2 had the most reactivity and Daewon had the least. The result that the allergenicity of proteins in soybeans differs according to the variety of soybean, leads to the conclusion that it may be possible to reduce consumer allergic reactions to soybean products by choosing an appropriate variety of soybeans.
Mature nodal segments of 2-year-old greenhouse stock plant were cultured on Murashige and Skoog basal medium supplemented with the different kinds and various concentrations of cytokinins to produce multiple shoots in in vitro condition. The most adventitious shoots were produced from excised ends of nodal segments. The highest average number $(24.6\;{\pm}\;4.6)$ of shoots was produced with the combination of BA 1.0mg/L and TDZ 0.1mg/L in MS medium. In addition, several shoots were formed from lenticels of bark cambium with the same treatment. These concentrations promoted high shooting capability upto $94.6\%$ and NAA was the best cytokinin among five different PGR sources.
The gravity anomalies that observed by ground and shipborne survey and calculated from GRACE satellite are combined by using spherical cap harmonic analysis (SCHA). In this study, ground gravity data from Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resource(KIGAM) and shipborne gravity data from National Ocean Research Institute(NORI) and Korea Ocean Research and Development institute(KORDI) were used. L-2 level GRACE Gravity Model (GGM02C) was also used for satellite gravity anomaly. The ground and shipborne surveyed data were combined and gridded using Krigging method with 0.05 degree interval and GRACE data were also gridded using the same method with 0.05 degree to harmonize with the resolution of SCHA that has coefficient up to 80. Generalized Minimal Residual(GMRES) inversion method was implemented for calculating the coefficients of SCHA using the gridded ground and satellite gravity anomalies that had 0 km and 50 km altitude, respectively. The results of inversion method showed good correlation of 0.950 and 0.995 with original ground and satellite data. The gravity anomaly using SCHA satisfies Laplace's equation, therefore, using these SCHA coefficients, gravity anomaly can be calculated at any altitude. In this study, gravity anomaly was calculated from 10 km to 60 km altitude and each altitude, very stable results were shown. The ground and shipborne gravity data that have higher resolution and satellite data in long wavelength are harmonized well with SCHA coefficients and successfully applied in South Korea area. If more continuous survey and muti-altitude surveyed data like airborne data available, more precise gravity anomaly can be acquired using SCHA method.
We attempted to modulate the overall protein expression rate through the addition of a repressor against the araBAD promoter system of Escherichia coli, in which glucose was used as a repressor. Therefore, 0.5% L-arabinose was initially contained as an inducer in culture medium, and either 2% glucose or 2% glycerol was used as a carbon source, and it was found that the expression of recombinant interferon-${\alpha}$ could be observed at the beginning of the batch culture when glycerol was used as a carbon source. However, when glucose was used, the initiation of recombinant interferon-${\alpha}$ expression was delayed compared with that when glycerol was used. Furthermore, when the addition of 0.5% glucose was carried out once or twice after 0.5% L-arabinose induction during DO-stat fed-batch culture, the distributions of soluble and insoluble recombinant interferon-${\alpha}$ were modulated. When glucose was not added after the induction of L-arabinose, all of the expressed recombinant interferon-${\alpha}$ formed an inclusion body during the later half of culturing. However, when glucose was added after induction, the expressed recombinant interferon-${\alpha}$ did not all form an inclusion body, and about half of the total recombinant interferon-${\alpha}$ was expressed in a soluble form. It was deduced that the addition of glucose after the induction of L-arabinose might lower the cAMP level, and thus, CAP (catabolite activator protein) might not be activated. The transcription rate of recombinant interferon-${\alpha}$ in the araBAD promoter system might be delayed by the partial repression. This inhibition of the transcription rate probably resulted in more soluble interferon-${\alpha}$ expression caused by the reduction of the protein synthesis rate.
In order to develop the biotechnological methods for the mass production of anticancer compounds from tissue culture of Panax ginseng C.A. Mayer, these studies were carried out for the selection of ginseng cell lines containing higher concentration of polyacetylene compounds and optimal condition for their biosynthesis. Panaxynol, one of ginseng polyacetylene, was not detected in any callus induced from ginseng superior cell lines cultured on MS medium supplemented with $\beta$-chlorophenoxy acetic acid (CPA). Panaxydol, another one of polyacetylene and anticancer compounds, were detected in calli of 5 cell lines by thin layer chromatogram and gas chromatogram. Among the 18 ginseng superior lines, the cell line 30201 has higher content of panaxydol. Especially, panaxydol was not detected in the callus induced from cell line 10301 which cultured on the medium containing CPA only, however, it was detected on the same callus cultured on mixed medium containing CAP 2 mg/L and BA 0.05 mg/L. SH medium was better than MS medium for ginseng callus growth and biosynthesis of polyacetylene, and also found that it was not effected by NAA and sucrose concentration in the culture medium.
