Series-Type Hybrid Electric Bus Fuel Economy Increase with Optimal Component Sizing and Real-Time Control Strategy (최적용량매칭 및 실시간 제어전략에 의한 직렬형 하이브리드 버스의 연비향상)

  • The interest in reducing the emissions and increasing the fuel economy of ICE vehicles has prompted research on hybrid vehicles, which come in the series, parallel, and power-split types. This study focuses on the series-type hybrid electric vehicle, which has a simple structure. Because each component of a series hybrid vehicle is larger than the corresponding component of the parallel type, the sizing of the vehicle is very important. This is because the performance may be greater or less than what is required. Thus, in this research, the optimal fuel economy was determined and simulated in a real-world system. The optimal sizing was achieved based on the motor, engine/generator, and battery for 13 cycles, where DP was used. The model was developed using ASCET or a Simulink-Amisim Co-simulation platform on the rapid controller prototype, ES-1000.

Taylor Series-Based Long-Term Creep-Life Prediction of Alloy 617 (Taylor 급수를 이용한 617 합금의 장시간 크리프 수명 예측)

  • In this study, a Taylor series (T-S) model based on the Arrhenius, McVetty, and Monkman-Grant equations was developed using a mathematical analysis. In order to reduce fitting errors, the McVetty equation was transformed by considering the first three terms of the Taylor series equation. The model parameters were accurately determined by a statistical technique of maximum likelihood estimation, and this model was applied to the creep data of alloy 617. The T-S model results showed better agreement with the experimental data than other models such as the Eno, exponential, and L-M models. In particular, the T-S model was converted into an isothermal Taylor series (IT-S) model that can predict the creep strength at a given temperature. It was identified that the estimations obtained using the converted ITS model was better than that obtained using the T-S model for predicting the long-term creep life of alloy 617.

Mathematical Analysis of LLC Series Resonant Converter with Current Doubler Rectifier using Coupled Inductor (Coupled Inductor를 활용한 배전류 정류 회로를 적용한 LLC 직렬 공진 컨버터의 수식화 해석)

  • This study proposes an LLC series resonant converter with a current doubler using a coupled inductor as a rectification circuit for the secondary side. The current doubler circuit is generally used for a high-voltage input and low-voltage output circuit to obtain high efficiency with small transformer turn ratio. However, an inductive circuit is not generally used in the secondary side of an LLC series resonant converter. If inductive components exist on the secondary side, the resonant characteristics are changed through the secondary inductive circuit. Mathematical analysis shows that the secondary-side current doubler with coupled inductor is not affected by the resonant characteristic of the primary LLC if leakage inductance occurs in the coupled inductor. Results of the analysis are proven by simulation; an experiment is also conducted for the proposed circuit.

Studies on Effects of Channel Bed Fixation by Erosion Control Dams in Torrential Streams (황폐계류(荒廢溪流)에 있어서 사방시설물(砂防施設物)에 의한 하도고정(河道固定)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • In planning the disaster prevention by the erosion control facilities, it is essential to focus on the microtopography of the channel bed and the chronological process of sedimental movement in the torrential streams. For this purpose, the microtopographical change of the channel bed and the effects of the erosion control facilities in the mountain torrents were analyzed by the experimental channel and the field survey of the torrents where low-dam series had been constructed in the channel. The results of this experiment showed that the effects of construction of the low-dam series on the channel bed fixiation were the prevention of the local scouring in the experimental channel and the expansion of flow channel width and deposit space. The results are summarized as follows : 1. When the low-dam series were constructed over the whole channel bed (L'/L=1), the conning water and the sediment were seperated, simultaneously resulting in deposition of sediment and reduction of the tractive force for the running water. Therefore, the F.A. (Fluctuation area in cross-section: value was decreased to about 65% compared with that of non-work (L'/L=0). 2. The efficiencies of the low-dam series on the channel width were increased with an increment in length of working space. After the construction of low-dam series on the whole channel bed (L'/L=1), flow channel width was increased to about 1.53 times compared with that of non-work (L'/L=0). 3. It needs a deposition area to store the sediment with decrease in tractive force. The low-dam series in the experimental channel widened the deposition area about 2.10 times compared with that of non-work.

$Hg^{2+}$-promoted Aquation and Chelation of cis-[Co(en)$_2$(L)Cl]$^{2+}$ (L = Amines) Complexes ($Hg^{2+}$에 의한 cis-[Co(en)$_2$(L)Cl]$^{2+}$ (L = 아민류) 착물의 아쿠아화 및 킬레이트화 반응)

  • It has been suggested that Hg$^{2+}$-promoted reaction of a series of cis-[Co(en)$_2$(L)Cl]$^{2+}$ (en = 1,2-diaminoethane) with L = NH$_3$, NH$_2$CH$_3$, glyOC$_2$H$_5$, glyOCH$_3$, dl-alaOC$_2$H$_5$, NH$_2$CH$_2$CONH$_2$, and NH$_2$CH$_2$CN proceeds by dissociative interchange(I$_d$) mechanism from kinetic data, circular dichroism spectra, analyses of products, and the values of m(Grunwald-Winstein plot) using Y (solvent ionizing power) in aqueous solution and in mixed aqueous-organic solvent. It has been found that chloride replacement by water (aquation) for the series with L = NH$_3$ and NH$_2$CH$_3$ and chelation of ligand L to Co(Ⅲ) for the series with L = glyOC$_2$H$_5$, glyOCH$_3$, dl-alaOC$_2$H$_5$, NH$_2$CH$_2$CONH$_2$, and NH$_2$CH$_2$CN occurs, respectively. The rate constants on Hg$^{2+}$-induced reaction of the series except cis-[Co(en)$_2$(NH$_2$CH$_2$CN)Cl]$^{2+}$ were increased with increasing the contents of ethanol in mixed water-ethanol solvents. In mixed water-30${\%}$ organic solvents, the rate constants of the series except cis-[Co(en)$_2$(NH$_2$CH$_2$CN)Cl]$^{2+}$ have also been measured in the order 30${\%}$ 2-propanol-water > 30${\%}$ ethanol-water > water. However, the rate constants of cis-[Co(en)$_2$(NH$_2$CH$_2$CN)Cl]$^{2+}$ were reversed. The rate constants of the series with L= NH$_3$ and NH$_2$CH$_3$ were related to ligand field parameter (${\Delta}$), but those of the series with L = glyOC$_2$H$_5$, glyOCH$_3$, dl-alaOC$_2$H$_5$, NH$_2$CH$_2$CONH$_2$, NH$_2$CH$_2$CN were not. The reaction between the series and Hg2+ in aqueous media containing NO$_3^-$ has been investigated. The results for the reaction do not alter the mechanism, but the rate only was altered.

  • We consider Weierstrass functions and divisor functions arising from $q$-series. Using these we can obtain new identities for divisor functions. Farkas [3] provided a relation between the sums of divisors satisfying congruence conditions and the sums of numbers of divisors satisfying congruence conditions. In the proof he took logarithmic derivative to theta functions and used the heat equation. In this note, however, we obtain a similar result by differentiating further. For any $n{\geq}1$, we have $$k{\cdot}{\tau}_{2;k,l}(n)=2n{\cdot}E_{\frac{k-l}{2}}(n;k)+l{\cdot}{\tau}_{1;k,l}(n)+2k{\cdot}{\sum_{j=1}^{n-1}}E_{\frac{k-1}{2}(j;k){\tau}_{1;k,l}(n-j)$$. Finally, we shall give a table for $E_1(N;3)$, ${\sigma}(N)$, ${\tau}_{1;3,1}(N)$ and ${\tau}_{2;3,1}(N)$ ($1{\leq}N{\leq}50$) and state simulation results for them.

  • In this paper a new series-parallel compensated uninterruptible power supply is proposed. Its series compensator shapes input current to sinusoid. The power handled by series compensator is only a quarter of ratings. And parallel compensator delivers sinusoidal voltage to nonlinear load. The parallel compensator is backedup with battery. This system has capabilities of power line conditioner and backup power with reduced size.

  • In the spectral analysis, Fourier coeffcients are very important to give informations for the original signal f on a finite domain, because they recover f. Also Fourier analysis has extension to wavelet analysis for the whole space R. Various kinds of reconstruction theorems are main subject to analyze signal function f in the field of wavelet analysis. In this paper, we will present a new reconstruction theorem of functions in $L^1(R)$ using a nonharmonic Fourier series. When we construct this series, we have used dyadic subdivision schemes.

  • This paper introduces an improved pulse generator using power semiconductors and L-C circuit. The proposed circuit consists of the series connected boost converter structure. In the presented circuits, high voltage pulse is generated by series-connection of capacitors and IGBTs. The charging of capacitors and voltage balance of IGBTs are obtained automatically. To verify the proposed circuit, 1.8㎸, 40A pulse generator is manufactured and tested.

  • In this paper, we define a new kind of formal power series rings by using Gaussian binomial coefficients and investigate some properties. More precisely, we call such a ring a Gaussian series ring and study McCoy's theorem, Hermite properties and Noetherian properties.
