  • The variation of the urban water demand and the amount of water in the distribution reservoir was studied with time for a day. The city of Kwangju in Korea was selected as a study area. The population of Kwangju in the end of 1993 was more than one million and two hundred thousand peoples. The average of daily water use in 1993 was about three hundred and fifty thousand tons a day. One day was devided into 12 divisions with a 2 hour increment. The water use demand related to the amount of water in the distribution reservoir was observed for the given time interval of a day. The water use index was defind in percentage that indicates the ratio of the amount of water use for a time interval to the amount of water use for a day. The water use index with consideration of the water stored in the reservoir was found to be useful to manage and to operate the water supply systems in real time.

HiTEL service is one of the typical information-telecommunication services, and is begun in Seoul and Kwangju area from October 1991, and diffusing several cities and regions now. Diffusion process of HiTEL services in Kwangju showed the irregular pattern in major residential areas, particularly Daewei-dong, Dongun-dong present higher adoption rate than other area, and where functioned as a diffusion center, the social and economic characteristics of residential area have a critical effect on diffusion process. The major adoption areas are recently built residential area, apartment districts, and diffusion direction shows two directions according to development of residental area; one is to south, another is from northeast to southwest. In order to understand the use-behavior of HiTEL service, questionary survey was carried out. Most adopters have a concern to actual life, as HiTEL, information of telephonenumber, and Daewoo Dial-Van compared with other information service. But the actual use-frequency of service is very low. In use of Kwangju regional information service, the use-frequency of operator is very low because of the lack of advertisement, the lack of providing information, and the low-concerns for regional information. But most of adopters need the providing of various regional information as regional news, education, medical and cultural events, housing, city-transportation, and job market. Thus, in order to increase and diffuse the HiTEL service, the establishment of diffusion strategies and the scheme for solution of related issues are very important. The direct diffusion strategies are the diffusion of information-mind, establishment of diffusion and education center, providing of regional information. The scheme for solution of related issues revealed in operating process are reduction of rental fee, development of the related technology and services.

However, the $SPO_2$ of the experimental group was significantly elevated after 60 minutes. The difference pre-post to the music therapy in the vital signs between two groups was significant only in body temperature. This study showed that the effect of music therapy given to postoperative patients is that it promotes changes in facial expression, facial color, and grip strength helping recovery of consciousness, stabilizing vital signs, elevating levels of $SPO_2$. and reducing complaints of pain. • The Denver Developmental Screening Test was devised to provide a simple method of evaluating the developmental status of infants and preschool children. To assess the development of Korean children, 667 children (390 boys and 277 girls) between the ages of 2 weeks and 6 years who live in Kwangju city and rural areas in Chonnam were examined according to the DDST. The ages at which 25%, 50%, 75%, and 90% of the children performed each item were calculated for the entire sample. The results of these were compared with the norms of Denver children and other related previous studies in Korea. The development of the boys was also compared with that of the girls, and further the test results of city children and country children were also compared. Girls performed the DDST items in personal-social, fine motor-adaptive and gross motor sectors slightly earlier than boys. In general, however, there were no significant differences in the developmental rate between boys and girls. In all four sectors of the DDST, urban children performed the items significantly earlier than rural children. In comparing Korean children and Denver children, Korean children tended to perform gross motor and personal-social items at a slightly earlier age than Denver children. In the language sector, Denver children tended to perform a little earlier than Korean children. But on the whole there were no significant differences in developmental status between Korean and Denver children. It should be noted that a few items, such as“Uses plurals”, needed to be changed due to the structure of Korean language.
