  • Purpose : In order to estimate clinical effects of Oriental Medicine Treatment with acupotomy therapy of Peroneal nerve Palsy. Methods : From 10th June, 2010 to 19th June, 2010, 1 female patient diagnosed as Peroneal nerve Palsy(clinical diagnosed) was treated with general oriental medicine therapy (acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, moxibustion, cupping, physical therapy, herbal medication) and acupotomy. Results : The patient's left foot drop was remarkably improved. Conclusions : This study demonstrates that oriental medical treatment with acuputomy therapy has notable effect in improving symptoms of peroneal nerve palsy. as though we had not wide experience in this treatment, more research is needed.

  • This study aims to present the re-structuring strategies of healthcare facilities in Kwang-ju and Jon-nam province for it's competition power in the emerging global health care market. Kwang-Ju city and Jon-nam province have had difficulties in building a balanced healthcare system because of rapidly declining population, weakened healthcare infra-structure and geographical problems of healthcare supply by numerous islands. Now, Kwang-Ju city and Jon-nam province try to be a core place of economy and culture in the west-south asia. To do so, it is fundamentally necessary to reform their current social structure including healthcare system in large scale. This Study presents the current conditions and the problems of healthcare environment in these areas.

  • Objectives : This study is performed for the purpose of proving the efficacy of the Oriental medicine of swollen leg. Edema is defined as an increase in the extravascular(interstitial) component of the extracellular fluid volume, which may expand by several liters before the abnormality is recognized. We treated one case of patient with a swollen leg. Methods & results : We examined DITI before treatment and after treatment. We measured the circumference of thigh and calf every morning, so we compared with the values day after day. So we found the fact that leg swelling considerably decreased after treatment for 14 days. We followed up after discharge. Conclusions : Acupuncture, Aquacupuncture and Herbal medicine is possible to be effective for treating patients with a swollen leg.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this case is to report the improvement after treatment about patient with Reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome. Methods : We treated the patient with acupuncture therapy and Herbal medication from 12th October 2004 to 20th June 2005 by evaluating shoulder function with VAS score, shoulder joint ROM and mannual muscle test(MMT). Results : After treatment, this patient achieved excellent outcome following the technique, showing that clinical symptom as like pain, swelling, paresthesia, color tone change was almost disappeared, and there was improvement of ROM and MMT Conclusion : Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome (RSDS) also known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic neurological syndrome characterized by severe burning pain, pathological changes in bone and skin, excessive sweating, tissue swelling, extreme sensitivity to touch. Oriental medical treatment for Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome resulted in satisfactory results by diminishing the symptoms progressively during the thirty two weeks of treatment. Differential diagnosis was based on careful physical examination. More research of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome is needed.

  • Objectives : This study was performed to evaluate the clinical results of the thoracolumbar fracture patients treated with oriental medical methods. Methods : We reviewed 40 patients of thoracolumbar fracture, who were hospitalized at WonKwang University KwangJu Oriental Medical Hospital and treated by oriental medical methods. We classified thoracolumbar fracture according to three column theory and then analyzed the cause of injury, sex-age distribution, treatment, and etc.. Results : 1. The distribution showed female predominance(72.5%) in sex and 70age-bracket predominance in age. 2. In the distribution of causes, the largest group was "lifting heavy objects"(40%) and the next was "slip down"(37.5%). 3. In the duration of symptoms, the largest group was the group of "acutest" (40%). 4. The distribution of injured level was L1 body the most(20%). 5. In classification of fracture, "compression fracture" was the most(57.5%) and the next was "burst fracture", "unstable fracture" in order. 7. Therapeutic effects above "fair" were 37 cases(92.5%). 8. The higher grade of clinical symptoms is, the lower therapeutic effect is. 9. In the distribution of treatment results according to classification of fracture, both the compression fracture and the burst fracture were almost same high and the unstable fracture is relatively lower than them. Conclusions : The result to treating thoracolumbar fracture by oriental medical methods is satisfactory.

  • AAL2 has been adopted for bandwidth-efficient trans-mission of low bit tate traffic over ATM networks in ITUT and ATM Forum. Since ATM/AAL2 is expected to be used as a switching technology in third-generation mobile access networks and mobile data traffic is expected to increase rapidly in near future, there must be a need for efficient scheduling scheme satisfying the QoS requirement of ow bit rate voice as well as the one of high bit rate data. In this paper, we propose a new class-scheduling scheme to improve data packet loss probability, while Qos of voice traffic is guaranteed, when data traffic is multiplexed together with mobile voice traffic into a single ATM VCC. The proposed scheme can efficiently support data traffic by assigning a time threshold value to voice traffic. Through simulation study, we show that the proposed scheme does not only achieve better efficiency for providing both mobile voice and data services than HOL class-scheduling scheme and normal FIFO scheme, but also guarantees mean voice packet delay under a certain criteria.

  • Patients satisfaction continues to receive attention as a measure of the outcome of physical therapy intervention. This study measures patient satisfaction among physical therapists' patients and clients and to identify factors of patient satisfaction that will affect patients decision. The instrument developed by Goldstein et. al(2000) was used. PAtients' opinions of service in each domain were measured using 5-point Likert-type scales. A 20-item instrument designed to measure the domains of patient satisfaction and 8 additional items were included. Data were collected at 8 hospital in Kwang-ju city Descriptive statistics, reliability, ANOVA, cross-tabs and regression analysis were computed. A total 365 individuals completed the instrument. Waiting time, treatment and cost domain predicted the satisfaction of physical therapy
